Looks a great walk that Carrie. Nice to see something different and local, look forward to the next one!
Really enjoyed that. I agree that the mist does give off a magical atmosphere. That bridge was stunning. Looking forward to the next one. Happy New Year to you, all the best, Jenny 😊
Thanks Jenny and Happy New Year :D
Excellence.... Looks like the type of weather I had on my Wolds Way...
It certainly was the same weather, I'm enjoying your series, trying to keep up with watching them :D
Didn't look too muddy underfoot considering. Lovely atmosphere to the video
Mud levels were at a minimum which is always good :D
It's a lovely walk Carrie, i did it in sections a few years ago..not well signed but i do remember seeing a few Nightjar markers...I get out to the isle of Axholme quite a bit...brilliant video.
I thought you might have, it being on your doorstep. I've enjoyed it so far but developed a bit of the old plantar fasciitis so might have to put off completing it for a couple of weeks :(
Thoroughly enjoyed your video, it was so peaceful. Looking forward to the next one 😊
Thanks, I'm going to do some vegan camp cooking next week in the woods, I'm just wondering what to cook, or maybe just stick to something simple. Glad you enjoyed the vid :D
@carriehikes not sure, I'm vegan so my suggestions might not be agreeable to you. Hahaha
@@thewalkingvegan I'm vegan too ☺
@carriehikes of course, I've just re-read your original comment, 🙄. What about chopped onions and veg, tvp, tomatoes and herbs and spices with noodles. All could be prepared before you go, fry the onions then add everything else and get some noodles already done, I think they're called 'straight to crock' or something like that?
@@thewalkingvegan Sounds delicious! :D Thanks 😄
I really enjoyed that Carrie - the mood. I agree, I love the mist also. It's not about views although we like them. Nice one - see you out wit the stove. I look forward to seeing what stove it is. Ha, a beep. It's gonna be your year. Well, loving that bridge. All the best. Mark
Hi Mark, glad you enjoyed the vid :D It was a beautiful day and you're right, it's not always about the views :D
@@carriehikes Yeah, always good Carrie. No not always about the views but wow what a day we had down here. Hope it was good up your way.
Yes the mist was amazing. I had never heard of this walk before. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Tea, glad you enjoyed it. I'm going to do some camp cooking next week where I will be making a cuppa, I think you'll like it :P
@@carriehikes I do love a cuppa :)
Hi Carrie, the first Peatlands Way video on TH-cam Tube…..you’re a trailblazer! 😀 I’ve driven through Epworth on many occasion visiting friends but never realised a trail went through it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trail. Happy New Year to you. 😀🥾
Thanks and Happy New Year. Surprisingly there are a few trails around the Epworth area that I have never heard of before- it'll give me something to do next year!
Hi Carrie I enjoyed coming with you on your walk, I hope you had a lovely Christmas? I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos in 2025. it’s a big 👍from me Cheers Glenn. oh ps Happy New Year Carrie
Hi Glenn, I had a very quiet and relaxing Christmas, I hope you had a good one too. Happy New Year :D
A lovely misty walk in an interesting part of the country - impressed that you're making the best of these short grey days.
Hi Catherine, it was a beautiful little walk- I just love being outside and walking. Happy New Year :D
Great hike. Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year :D
@carriehikes 🙂👍
hi Carrie misty day but it all adds to the hike some work went in to building that bridge hope you have a happy new year 🎉🎉
Hi Steve, that was a lovely bridge, quite romantic looking with the foliage growing over it. Happy New Year :D
Lovely Carrie as always happy new year
Thanks Andy and Happy New Year :D
Some lovely photography, especially of leaves and teasels: always beauty even in the grey. Looking forward to the next one.
Hi Dave, the mist did make everything look amazing, next one coming soon :D
Glad to have found your channel nice vid have subbed happy new year
Thanks and welcome to the channel! Happy New Year :D
Wow, this is really amazing, I who live in Indonesia really admire this video ❤❤
Thanks, Indonesia is a beautiful country :D
Nice video Carrie. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a wonderful New Year 😊
Thanks Norway, Happy New Year :D
Thank you for sharing your video! I had to subscribe to your channel. I became the 330th friend and subscribed today~
Lovely video 👍 Thanks very much for subscribing to my channel. I love the Dales, it;s just a shame I can;t get out there more often - So many hills, so little time!!! 😆 Keep up the great content, I look foreard to seeing more in 2025
Hi Dave, you're quite right- so many hills, so little time! If I was able to walk everyday I'd still never do everything, but maybe that's why it's such a great hobby- you'll never be bored hiking!
Love Reeth, down below and up on some of the great hikes up there too. I always getting my first ever subscriber and worried I had a stalker, as I did not understand TH-cam at all them, I just wanted a place to store my hikes. A Very Merry Christmas to you, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan, I love it around Reeth, feels like home somehow. All the best for 2025!
Shame about the lost audio and the same happened to be on a hiking on the coast about 2 years ago but it was the media mod and not my GoPro. I see what you mean about the conditions underfoot, very wet and muddy indeed and you did lot look of sound happy, especially after a slip and falling down a hole. Well deserved burger and chips and to be honest, a great effort, cheers Alan
I was very unhappy after that first day- it was bloody awful! Yeah, I don't know what happened to the audio- I think water got into the mic. I always check the audio is working now! Lesson learned :D
Don't get shot.. Worse than the gun shots on my video.. Keep safe.. Poor birds :( You're doing very well, and as long as you enjoy it - keep on producing....
They should bottle winter days like that 👌 great watch. Heres to 2025 🙌
Let's hope we get a few more sunny days over Xmas while I have time off!

Thanks for watching :D
Hi Carrie thank you for another lovely video, I hope to see lots more of your videos I think they are very good, I've been on on TH-cam now for 6 years and I haven't even reached 200 yet so I think to have got over 300 subscribers in your first year is very good, I hope to be out and about again next year making videos too, atb Carrie cheers Glenn. it's another 👍from me
Thanks Glenn, I'm looking forward to getting out and about next year- let's hope we've got the weather for it. Happy hols :D
From one walking lady on TH-cam with about 300 subs to another, congratulations! It's nice to know there are pleasant people out there who enjoy following a good walk. Looking forward to seeing your plans for next year unfold, meanwhile have a Happy Christmas!
Hi Catherine, you can't beat a good walk in beautiful countryside. Thanks and have a happy Christmas :D
Would love to see you do some Wainwrights. Also multi day hikes/trails. I do both. Always camping of course. Inspirational to see another female solo backpacker x
Hi Paula, there doesn't seem to be many of us solo ladies out there, not sure why. I'm looking forward to doing some backpacking and camping next year. Thanks for watching and happy Christmas :D
Great walk thoroughly enjoyed watching, keep on doing the channel you’re an inspiration for people to get our and enjoy the countryside
Thanks Bill, I've enjoyed making the videos and it's nice to know people enjoy them. Happy Christmas :D
Glad you plan to continue the channel. I've enjoyed seeing some familiar places, and others not so familiar. Well done.
Hi David, thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Happy Christmas :D
@carriehikes Same to you!
Good going Carrie - 1 year and a good few positive connections. A good walk to talk about your experience and your plans. It's a fine hill indeed - the views were free of clag and crystal clear. I wish you all the best with the multi-day and your feet. I know what it feels like out there - simply the best. Here's to one or two camps too. All the best. Mark
Hi Mark, thanks for the support over the past year, it's much appreciated. Merry Christmas and here's to a great 2025!
@@carriehikes A pleasure Carrie - good walks and good company old mate. Thanks.
hi Carrie cracking day for a hike stunning views as well . same here on the youtube i only did the videos to prove to my twins i was going out walking lol but i seem to like pointing the Camera at most things then try and make a video out of it as for subs and views if i get any its good but not the end of the world 😁😁and 2025 i just want to carry on getting out and try to get to walk longer in one day 👍👍
Hi Steven, like I say, I was surprised to get any subs at all this year! Good luck with your goal of longer walks- I want to do some longer miles next year too! Merry Christmas :D
@@carriehikes Merry Christmas to you speak soon 😀
So glad your going to carry on with youtube Carrie as long as your feet are ok , I look forward to your videos especially in the Yorkshire Dales . Have a merry xmas and a happy new year . ATB Andy
Thanks Andy, have a merry Christmas and happy New Year!
Love to watch and listen to you ramble on Carrie😂 Please do carry on. All the best for 2025.
Thanks Helen, I can ramble on quite a bit! You'd be amazed at how much rambling I cut out, lol! Happy Christmas :D
Hi Carrie. Great news you are going to continue on you tube, it’s been great watching your adventures since I discovered your channel. You have set yourself some great goals there for next year. I’m doing to the West Highland Way in May and I hope to bag a good number of the Wainwrights I have yet to do. I don’t think I will get them all completed but should make good in roads in to the 72 I need. All the best and have a great festive period. 😀⛰🥾🏕️🎅🏻🎄
The WHW is on my list for the future! Good luck with your Wainwrights, the Lakes are stunning, can't wait to get back out there. Have a very merry Christmas :D
Love Fremington edge. We've done that walk a few times. Really enjoying your walks. Keep up the good work and have a fabulous Christmas 🎄
Thank you, Fremmie edge is definitely one of my favourites. Have a happy Christmas :D
Hope you keep at it Carrie, there is something to be said for simple, well shot TH-cam videos that are a pleasant way to spend half an hour or so passing the time.
Thank you for watching and I hope you have a merry Christmas and a great New Year :D
Nice video!
Glad you enjoyed it
@carriehikes 👍🙂
Greetings from Melbourne. Many thanks for a great presentation, Carrie. I'm planning three days in Yorkshire next May and may do this as a circular walk during my day in the Dales. Are there other circular walks in the Dales (and the Moor) that you can recommend? Up to 15km.
Hello, a stunning walk to do is the circular from Keld and around Muker and back again. It's on my channel as Kisdon, Keld and Wildflowers. All the best :D
My fav walk of all time. Loved this walk. Well done 🎉
Thanks, the Lakes are beautiful :D
That was full of beauty Carrie - views, lanes, halls and churches. Yeah, I wouldn't mind one or two of those places either. Well, we can't overdose on beauty. I want to see you on Pen Hill now. We saw that a few times. Have a great week ahead. Mark
Hi Mark, it is a very beautiful area. Hopefully, I'll be up on Penhill this weekend all being well! :D
@@carriehikes It is special Carrie - see you up that hill. Have a good one.
It's an absolute right to enjoy what you're doing Carrie and if your not and have an injury then change plans. I tell you now some people with an injury have done the opposite and lived to regret it long term. Yeah, you'll be back - lovely footage there though. All the best. Mark
Thanks Mark
@@carriehikes Pleasure Carrie - have a good weekend.
Fantastic route! I have been along that edge many times but never up along the old railway line. A route to add to the list. But what's that at 10:40.... Surely not trainers and umbrellas! No way! Shame on them! Their nice white trainers will not stay clean for long! Another lovely video Carrie, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Warren :)
Hi Warren- that was some of the Japanese tourists! I think they just walk up from the road, get their photo for Instagram and then walk back down again, a bit like everyone does on Mam Tor.
What a beautiful location there Carrie, thank you for your tour around the paths and villages. A couple of years ago I had a ride on the Wensleydale Railway as far as Leyburn and I think there are plans to extend further, along the tracks you crossed on your hike, to Redmire. Anyway, thank you for another video, cheers, Warren :)
Hi Warren, it would be nice to see those railway lines being used again. Thanks for watching.
Hi Carrie it looks like a lovely walk, I’ll have to watch it later because I’m at work now 👍cheers Glenn
Thanks Glenn
Perfect day , the lack of leaves on the trees meant you really captured the views
It was nice to see some sunshine for a change! :D
Wensleydale sure looks beautiful....wish i had a few bob so i could live there.
It is lovely over there, thanks for watching :D
Hi Carrie, thank you very much for the sub to my channel. 🙏 What a lovely walk on such a lovely day. I loved the church. I do love a walk round a church and church yard, always so interesting. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, all the best, Dave
Hi Dave, there are some amazing mediaeval churches around- I always check to see if they are open so I can have a look! :D
hi Carrie looked like there was some stunning views from those benches 👀👀cracking view for lunch was,nt to boggy in the end 😄
