    Grew up as a kid running one of those! My father was a contractor. Great machines for there size! Put a brush guard on the blade to protect the radiator! Also add side and rear brush screens to protect the operator! Enjoy your machine! God bless you and stay safe!

      Yeah my dad had one also for almost 20 years. I do want to make several upgrades to it. First I want to fix the 6 way blade control. Has a lot of slop in it

    I have a 350C. The tracks and track adjusters are in about the same condition as yours. When their extended that much susceptible to coming off. I'm replacing the front idlers. New adjuster pistons. Likely going to remove one link as well. Actually would have preferred a 450 but settled for the 350c.

      Back in spring I called about a whole new Undercarriage from John Deere. They said ITR was a good brand and it was $10,000 for everything. I’m going to buy a little bit at a time. A new one will last me a long time as little as I use it.

    What year is your machine? I have the same exact model and I can’t find a serial number look up anywhere on the internet. I paid 20,000 for mine. I overpaid but it has had two owners and was stored under cover it’s whole life. It was so clean I had to buy it. No issues so far🤞

    • @Paw95
      @Paw95  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are great machines. Unfortunately mine didn’t have the tag either. I had to find one similar with the serial numbers. So I’m not sure of the year really.

    • @Paw95
      @Paw95  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried this on mine and it didn’t do anything different. What I did do was added an external block heater. So that really helped out big time.

  • @Mountaintoptractor
    @Mountaintoptractor 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I have been looking at a couple of this dozer or very similiar. I have land at 7,500' its steep hills and valleys. Im wanting to make some trails and do some logging. Most of the people around me have tracked skid steers they work with, they just get very expensive very fast. Im not sure what kind of maintence abilities are required with the old machines.

    • @Paw95
      @Paw95  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On mine the biggest Job and most expensive was track replacement and that was almost $10,000. Most of the time I’m just changing filters for oil,air and fuel. Then some other small things. I did replace a head gasket one time but that was only $50 from John Deere. Wasn’t that hard of a job either. Skidsteers would be better in a way since you could do alot more with them. I really like this old dozer though.

    • @Mountaintoptractor
      @Mountaintoptractor 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Paw95 one of them here says undercarriage is 75%, and is asking 25k, not sure if that sounds off. I'm also not sure if the dozer would have enough power to make roads at 7,500' in the side of a mountain. Thinner air effects power.

    • @Paw95
      @Paw95  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mountaintoptractor 75% is really good. I’d look make sure frame isn’t broke or has loose bolts. People always liked to cut a bigger hole to get the starter out which is not a wise decision. Also if you look at one make sure it doesn’t have blow by. You can check that by letting it idle and loosen the oil cap and let it set there. If it blows it off then the engine is wore out. Check oil pressure for worn out engine also. Mine runs up near 40 when it’s hot almost 50 psi when it’s cold after first start up. Now at high altitudes I’m not so sure. I’m at 800-900 foot most of the time on mine and it has enough power to push trees over.

    • @Mountaintoptractor
      @Mountaintoptractor 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Paw95 good to know thank you! I'm on the fence between the dozer or an old tree farmer skidder with a 353 Detroit, with 1600hrs on a rebuild of motor/winch, with new center pin. The dozer would be more useful but at 2.5x the price I have neighbors that have equipment as well they can help with the trail building stuff.

  • @Jacob-zd4gj
    @Jacob-zd4gj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice dozer. Careful pulling logs like that putting it in gear and dragging them. I did that and took out the final drive bearings. Supposedly you're supposed to Free Wheel going forward and then winch them to you

    • @Paw95
      @Paw95  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jacob Bradburn so winch while going forward? Never thought about that really.

    • @Jacob-zd4gj
      @Jacob-zd4gj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, drive the machine forward while the winch is in neutral or free spool, then winter load to you when you park. I have a td8 international and I normally pull forward 25 to 40 ft and then winch my load to me. Basically inchworm

    Paw you did a ton on work on this, cutting trees moving them must-have taken a week. So is that a spring fead pond or does the water come from a creek. I see there is a pipe coming from under the road there not much water coming out of it. I bet there is a ton of fish in that pond going to be nice when you get it filled up

    • @Paw95
      @Paw95  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s got 4 small streams that feed it. Not much water runs down them until it rains some. That pond is loaded down with fish also!!
