I have always had bony hands with prominent veins (especially when it's hot outside). It has gotten worse with age. I had Radiesse collegen biostimulator injections> It's pricey but I have seen a HUGE improvement.
Hi Jenifer, new subscriber here. I went through all this a few years ago and now I'm writing a resource book on how to help yourself to minimise the most common effects of menopause. All of which has peer-reviewed science behind it. If I may give a few suggestions? Magnesium L-threonate, saw palmetto, high protein breakfast (50g of protein), high dose vitamin B complex, 500mg Omega 3 taken with vitamin B12, 3tspns of inulin (fibre) and vitamin D3 with K2 (10 000iu per 10kgs of body weight, more if obese). This is a small list of daily helpers of course dependent on your own medical condition. If you're not ready for HRT then increase your intake of soy based foods which are high in phytoestrogens. Avoid alcohol and caffeine and sugar. Do heavy weight bearing exercise. Your husband will benefit from Magnesium after dinner to help him sleep. Blessings to you and all the ladies going through this. Antonia (London) 🙏🙏🙏
Also, maybe talk to ur female Dr!! She will prob have great suggestions!! Mention eyelashes. Maybe need biotin?👍 My sleep has been awful. Really trying to work on it. Oh they have veggie pastas now. Cauliflower rice. Could be gluten issue. 😢 😊
I am 55 and peri-menopause, and menopause has been brutal, to say the least. When I look in the mirror, the person I now see is so different. It is hard to see a person you don't recognize. The loss of energy, brain fog, insomnia, physical changes, and exercising issues are so real. I feel like my face is melting.
I swear you're one of the most genuinely relatable Women on TH-cam♥️ I love these sit down chatting videos. It's like having a nice long conversation with a best friend💕
Never have I ever had so much in common with someone here on you tube. You are not alone in how you feel, in what you see and in what you think. Gosh, this hit home!
You're absolutely beautiful and menopause is definitely life changing. This will get better over time. I remember in my mid 50's when I went through Menopause, the first time I felt "Invisible." It was gut wrenching. Well a few years have passed and my hormones seem to have stabilized, the mood swings replaced with calmness. I embrace life with gratitude and look for the good in every day. Getting older is a gift. 💞🥰💞🥰
I feel like you are way too focused on what is “wrong” with you! Please focus on the positives. You have so many more than the majority of women (in the looks department). I’m 45. I’m starting to age, I don’t like it, but honestly, I just want to enjoy my life and try to focus less on looks.
Jenifer, I can relate to many of the things you've mentioned. I think we can be very hard on ourselves. I want to share a quote that helped give me some perspective, "Stare in the mirror long enough and eventually the devil stares back." Sometimes I have to walk away from the mirror to avoid picking myself apart. God bless. 🧡
Wow-the thing you said that resonates with me is the not listening to music as much! I always did in the car and in the shower. Now I like quiet in the shower and I listen to books or podcasts in the car to occupy my mind.
Girl, you are preaching to the choir. I totally understand. Seemed after 55 and menopause the aging is even more rapid. God bless. We are in this together sister.
It's ok to not want to change for the worse as we age. (Its ok for me to use the word worse because THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS! It's literally our bodies breaking down over time and who on earth wouldn't want to decelerate that?!?!!! And there's nothing wrong with saying that out loud either!! For goodness sake, we should all be sharing information with each other, not putting each other down for caring about how we look as we age. We need all the little talks like this and any tips or tricks that help to get through the process.
I agree 100%! Someone else said, it’s like we’re supposed to suffer in silence because no one wants to hear about it. I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT. Although it’s tough, I like knowing I’m not alone in this journey and with these feelings. That’s why I love this community here! ❤️🌺🤗
@@JeniferJenkinsBeauty I like knowing I'm not alone too. I definitely noticed changes after 40 and I have to try much harder to maintain things and some things are to no avail it seems. I thought it was because I should've taken better care of myself leading up. Its just comforting to know that someone as beautiful and healthy as you, has gone through the exact same thing. Not like in a 'misery loves company' kind of way, but in a 'with certain aspects of aging, it doesn't matter how great you take care of yourself and this is normal' kind of way. This video was vulnerable and transparent. It comes across as so genuine and I really appreciate that 🖤🖤
I'm 53 and finished menopause at 45 (more periods). I have been on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) ever since. Although I am still aging, I still feel like my normal 30-something self. HRT is a game changer.
I’m 39 and have been coming to your page for years for advice. You make me feel confident about aging, and that you can be beautiful with a youthful spirit at any age!
I just turned 60 I’ve got no plans to ever use fillers Botox etc because I want to age beautifully and naturally so don’t worry about it babes. You’ll be fine!! My mom and I both ended our periods at 47! It’s FANTASTIC!! It hasn’t slowed my sex drive in 13 years and the only symptoms I had were so hot flashed during my last period years and I was emotional. Now I’m living my best life! Our baby is 20 and out of the house!! We had a child in the house for 36 years!! Just embrace it all!! Don’t listen to the negativity!!
You're goals for me, I'm 41, you're gorgeous and look like 20 years younger. I think you're overly critical of your own appearance, but trust me as an outsider and older millennial you definitely looks significantly younger than your years.
I thought I was on top of aging. I had a healthy lifestyle, I looked after my skin my whole life and literally lived like a vampire avoiding sunlight lol. Then the age of 52 hit and I swear my face seemed to changed overnight. I changed the lightbulbs in my vanity mirror so they are not so harsh. The mirror is not my friend 😆
It's because our hormones drop suddenly and estrogen and progesterone are so important to our vitality and overall health. I'm 57 and about to try hormone replacement therapy. It's much safer now. You should definitely look into it.
Also red light therapy is a game changer. I just got a device for my mouth with red light therapy and near infrared. We lose bone mass in our jaws that can also change the shape of our faces.
I just adore you for your honest intimate videos about being a woman. It means the world to me even though I am exactly your Mom's age. Everything you mentioned I went through at your age. At almost 70 I don't have enough hormones left to feel anxiety! So I am back drinking coffee and feeling more free...so all I can say, it gets better after 60!!! Much love to you my friend, Happy Fall! Susan & Dez PS: Your gougous!!!
Going low carb took away my hot flashes and all digestive issues during menopause. Try keto again. I have had minimal issues and I can’t be that unusual but it was all about diet for me. My skin is great , I work out daily , carbs are not my friend. It doesn’t have to be horrible for everyone. I use a weighted vest for walking , weights and some HIIT . Good luck !
Estrogen replacement. Same age. Started HRT early in perimenopause (currently not in menopause yet technically) and it’s a game changer! I wish more women were informed about the benefits and importance of replacement of hormones.
Well, I'm glad you left this comment!! We all get to learn from each other here. That's what I love about this community! And I'm so happy to hear that HRT worked for you! ❤🥰
BHRT! 48 years old and started noticing changes about three years ago, spent about seven months deep diving into the science and decided to pull the trigger. Best decision I ever made. I originally started with pellets, but I felt like there was way too much testosterone being put into my body, so I’m now on creams/gels and a progesterone Pill at night. I’m now considering injections for estrogen and testosterone just to make life easier and to not have to worry about the transfer. The woman’s health initiative, crushed HRT for women, but I’m so glad the science is now realizing women NEED the hormones that our body stops producing. Too bad many physicians are so far behind the science. Do your own research and if you can’t find a great medical practitioner, there’s many telehealth doctor specializing in this. We don’t have to suffer women take your health and your own hands.
I remember watching Oprah years ago and she said that she believes that women who are very beautiful have a much harder time with aging. Now at 51 I know what she means when she said that and I think she is so right. I know you have to agree with it also as a very attractive woman.
I get told it all the time still as a 51 yr old. I’m tall, long blonde hair , blue eyes and lean. I don’t look 51 according to my kids and their friends. Everyone tells me I am , and I do believe I was genetically blessed. It’s all luck of the draw.
The older I get, the less social I am becoming and the more anxiety I have. I miss being young and careless sometimes lol. Yes I'm grateful to be alive and getting older but it still sucks sometimes lol.
I’m def less social. I prefer being alone and am happy too. I pray that heart-attude doesn’t change and become bitter, but joy is a choice everyday and gratitude is healing for us as women
I totally understand. I’m 47 and in the early perimenopause stages and just feels like your body has a mind of its own and your trying to make your way through it.
I’m 52 and girl…I relate to everything you’re feeling right now. I try really hard not to think about these things and to just do my best to stay healthy and look as best as I can every day, be grateful and positive but I’m struggling. I stopped having periods around age 48. I’ve really noticed in the past 2 or 3 years that I’m really aging and I’m not comfortable with it. And like you said, no one one wants to hear it, heck I don’t even want to hear myself complain lol 😂 I’m glad you make this content because I feel less alone. 💗
I’ll be 55 next month. I started bio-identical hormone replacement about a year ago. It has been life changing. It’s not covered by insurance, but, it’s definitely worth it.
I'm 51 and I'm on biodentical progesterone cream, no period in 11 months. As soon as I'm post menopause I'm starting biodentical estrogen cream as well.
Hi Jenifer. I know what you're talking about. I'm 63 and a half. So I've been where you are now. I have been taking Serovital, the Advanced one that has the 4 yellow capsules and also the white and red tablets. This system has helped me so much. Also, remember the only one you should compete with is who you see in the mirror. ❤
You’re still young and very beautiful. I’m 52 all natural no Botox or plastic surgery and I’ve been menopausal for 3 years now but I’m so lucky that I don’t have any symptoms at all, I’m happy with the way I look, We’re all going to get old one day and eventually die. That’s life,
@@Aussiegirl1972 That is awesome. That is great that you don't get them and are still able to have coffee! I eat pretty healthy, but still get the occasional hot flash. Can you share your diet? I am hoping to find a solution to stop them for good.
@@dianneb7316 I just eat home cooked meals. Like stews, roasts, soup, pasta, rice, beef, fish, vegetables, fruit, beans, chicken peas, bread but not too much. I don’t smoke or drink alcohol never have. Once a week I’ll have some chocolate or ice cream. I don’t diet I just eat in moderation and I fast for 18-20 hours everyday. I’ll skip breakfast then I’ll have lunch and my dinner will be early at 5pm or 6pm.
My perimenopausal was a train wreck. I was extremely irritable. I went to a functional medicine doc and found out I had very little progesterone….which meant I was estrogen dominate. He put me on progesterone and it was a game changer. I slept so much better. I’m now 66 and am on estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.
Jenifer, I’m 32 and I look at you and I think to myself I want to be just like her. I love how open you are about how you feel about yourself but I also want you to know, I look at you and think wow she looks amazing! I really hope you see that whilst you have imperfections they make you you and you are perfect x
I hear and feel you! I’m 55 and I went through menopause at 51. I got on HRT (estrogen and progesterone) and it brought my mind and sanity back. I need to be better about toning and eating habits. Aging is a privilege and I tell myself it’s just a number. I love your channel and the person you are❤!
Jenifer you look beautiful. I know exactly what you are going through. I am 57 years old and I had my last period when I was 52 when I started menopause. One of the saddest days of my life was when my gynecologist ran bloodwork on me and said that I was going through menopause. I didn’t feel like I was a woman anymore and was so depressed. In the last 5 years I just learned to accept it and take care of myself the best I can. I’m noticing lip lines now that I never had before and weight gain so life has definitely changed. All we can do is is slow down the aging process as much as we can with skincare products/exercise/supplements and just realize it is the “circle of life “ and every woman is going to go through it ❤
Menopause is a uniquely female process. It's proof that you are a woman, just as much as a getting a period is. Females have three stages in life - infertile, fertile and then back to infertile. All of them are part of being female, so never think of yourself as less of a woman because you're in 'phase 3'.
💝I'm 54, and I thank my Swedish background for my youthful look and spirit🌸💛It's an honor to receive compliments about how young I look....it's humbling and uplifting at the same time, but I really love inspiring others 😻Thank you for inspiring me and others as well🥰
This is a nice get ready with me, and I see people commenting that “you haven’t seen anything yet.” I don’t know that that is the point. The point is to share with others what might be to come. We all work through it, and we learn as we go. Ease through, work with your doc with HRT if you want-or don’t. We are fortunate now to have a means to learn other than just by hard knocks. Thank you for the video.
That's why I love this community here! We all get to learn from each other and help each other through these transitions. So many people have said that HRT was game changer. I'm so glad to know it's available should we choose to go down that path. ❤🥰
HRT Saved me ! Gave me back my energy, the ability to sleep through the night…. I’m so so so glad I’m taking it My perimenopause started about 5 years ago. I’m 46 now 😊
I love your videos like this one. I am 44 and have NEVER struggled with my weight but now its so soo difficult for me to just lose 15 pounds. Please keep talking about your journey with perimenopause/menopause 🤗❤
Be grateful that you wake up every morning and you look so beautiful, and young, i have no effects with menopause at all,, i drink only 4 supplements magnesium, vit c, zinc, vit d with my hot tea, love you Jenifer God bless you
In case it will help. I'm younger than you but started to notice changes at 36 with energy, weight, then facial changes at 38. I started HRT and Peptides. If I were you, start HRT: Testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, peptides like GHK-CU, NAD. Daily red light therapy, micro current. Supplements of course and well I haven't tried Sofwave but I think that will be a great one for face lifting. Not medical advice but as someone who wants to preserve her youth as much as possible I hope it helps!
I know how this feels. I'm 42 but had a total hysterectomy due to cancer. They left my ovaries, but ever since I turned 40 I swear I'm not the same mentally at all. Having had the hysterectomy, you don't have that marker of your periods to really tell for sure that you are experiencing menopause but I can think of no other reason why I experience anxiety and depression all the time. I do also notice aging signs in myself all the sudden since turning 40 as well. My eyelids started sagging, I feel like overnight. Wrinkles under my eyes when I smile, and just general changes that I'm not loving. I've noticed grey hair already, and I've lost half of my hair. Cognitively, I'm not as sharp as I was, and I'm not nearly as resilient. Women go through enough in life, menopause seems like a cruel curse.
@@mwheeler82 yes understand blood clots. My husband had six at one time and they found out he has a genetic problem with them and takes a blood thinner twice a day. ❤️❤️❤️
I think it’s so precious that your Dad said that… I def can’t imagine my dad inviting me to watch a show with him. I can see how the seeds of love and kindness planted by your parents influenced the relationship you have with your kids😊
Hi Jen! Thank you for sharing! I was almost in tears, because this resonated with me so much. Please keep sharing! Thank youuuu! ,much love and blessings! 🩷🤍
Everything you are describing is exactly I went thru during perimenopause. I’m in menopause now and my energy is gone and brain fog is awful. But it is definitely getting better
I’m 29 and have been watching you for 2 years because I’m already scared of aging. Have noticed changes from early 20s to now… I found you as my “I want to look like her at that age” You look so good. You give me hope. Life is too short and we can get caught up in comparing ourselves to younger women or our younger selves. Society has made it hard for the “older woman” I see my momma going through these very changes. She said she feels younger on the inside and one day just didn’t recognize herself in the mirror. Stay positive. Hormones really helped her. ❤
@@JeniferJenkinsBeauty I totally get it!! But today is also the youngest will ever be :) the feeling of no energy & the changes are weird! I feel like we have to suffer in silence because nobody wants to hear it. I totally hear what you’re saying.
You are so funny but I totally agree with everything you say. It sucks to get old sometimes I get so disappointed but then I get over I just keep working out and doing everything possible to look good and some day I think I look super good and other days I hate myself lol.
Dear Jenifer, I love your videos thank’s I have 54 in january Last year, i had ménopause and hypo hashimoto at the same time in summer. My doctor gave me pill for hashimoto It was awfull I eliminate all gluten of my diet and no more intense cardio…. I don’t put any weight I eat much clean as i can Do strenght training at home It take Time and consistancy to stay positive I like my ménopause because i don’t have all the symptoms of période It’s constant mood, no more up and down ! I Hope everything is good for you 😇🤩😍
I just sat up straight in my chair while watching this! 😊 Generally I like to use good posture, it makes a big difference in looking younger. You mentioning eating carbs and bloating/sore joints really made a light bulb go off for me. Will be looking into this. Thanks for the good video Jenifer!
Yes. My hands literally tell me everything I need to know about my diet. Someone else said it was their hips. This is why I love this community here on TH-cam! We all get to share our experiences and if we're fortunate enough, someone might say something or leave a comment that sends us down the right path for help, answers or solutions. ❤🥰🤗
I am in perimenopause and a low estrogen birth control will help stabilize your periods and is covered under most insurance providers. I have noticed less bloating and elevated mood. Something to discuss with your MD if this funk does not lift and HRT is still being considered. You are a vibrant kind lady that inspirational for me as I age. I love how honest you are about aging and there is nothing wrong with wanting to be the best version of yourself inside and out. ❤
I relate to a lot of what you are saying about being a private person. When I had kids I practically fell off the face of the earth for a long time because I was so focused on being a mom I didn't feel like I could balance that with a social life, job, etc. I am really glad you are pointing this out, because society acts like women are supposed to be able to balance everything so easily and I don't think it is realistic. Thanks for opening up about this, as I find it really helpful and supportive.
Awe, I'm glad you find it helpful! 🤗 It's so interesting what people find helpful. I used to worry about the things that I might say and how it might be interpretted here on TH-cam, but I have found that the more I open up, the more often I have comments just like yours, appreciating that there are other women out there who feel the same about certain topics. That's why I love this community! ❤🥰
Also, the downturned smile - I started noticing it more and more. I just (last week) got a little botox in those muscles and it seems to have already helped a bit.
Hi. Ive been so slow like an old granny, and i like quiet now, too!! They say when ur thyroids off, u feel like ur going crazy. But ur ok w ur thyroid? 💓 . Sorry for all the transitions. Prob really hard that ur daughters off to school. Well we pray thru it! I feel like a section by my mouth has caved in! And i wanna fix it now!! Haha. Things will get better. Hang in there. Actually, a dermatlgst told me when i was a teenager, to not look at ur face w a mirror!! We are too tough on ourselves and whose gonna stare at us like that. 👍 best advice ever!! 😊
Everything you were saying resonated with me. Not quite 50 but feeling the shift, and not feeling like my old self at all. Sadly, my blood work is getting worse each year so kudos to you on your great results! I think I'll go back to your other vids and try some of your recipes out. Thanks for sharing. It helps to know we are not alone in this.
Wow, about the music. I'm the same way since being in menopause for 7 yrs. My music consumption got less and less. So since retiring to Thailand, every Wednesday my hubby and I play pool with our neighbors and they have loud music playing and I get back to the feeling I had when I was younger. I just want to dance!
Love your GRWM's. You always motivate me to try some different things with my makeup. I feel you re: getting older. I'm 64 and am not ready to give into the changes without a fight (lol!).
You are so incredibly genuine! I so look forward to all of your videos. I really feel like you are just so honest, sweet and down to earth. I'm so grateful I found your channel!!! You are really helping me know what might be coming to me in my future and how to prepare for it. I feel the exact same way as you do about wanting to remain youthful looking and feeling! It's so crazy that people make us feel like we have to apologize for that or explain it! Anyway, you are just amazing in every single way. I LOVE your channel and your content!! ❤
Oh Jenifer, you look amazing. You just have a face that’s going to look gorgeous your entire life. We are also at the precipice of so many age reversal modalities. In a few years we are going to be able reverse so much of we dislike about the aging process.
Aww you’re having a hard time. I’m not there yet but I am humbled by it because I know this is in my future. Sometimes life is just plain hard, even in the midst of so many things to be grateful for. You will adjust and things will be okay. Sending love from NY.
I really enjoyed listening to you talk about your experience with menopause. I totally understand what you mean about building muscle, it used to be so easy for me, as well.
Hi there Jenifer, as I am a Mom of 6 here in HOUSTON! Yeah TEXAS! I am brand new to your channel and am sooo happy to have found your channel! I am 54 and have stopped having periods now for many years. I know what you mean, I think what makes me feel older: weight gain (am following a Mediterranean diet), neck skin issues, and not having the energy I use to have are my bigger “complaints “. How about sore breasts also, Lordy! What makes me happy: our pets (lots of cats and 2 dogs), our kiddos (older, but graduated from college, all working in their fields , still here at home, which we are happy about), and music (70s and 80s music rules, lol) THANK YOU for this wonderful video! 💙🧡
Omg I can totally relate to the coffee issue. I recently started coffee again after a 4 month break for the same reasons, I even had caffeine induced panic attacks. I would recommend some books that helped me, "The Menopause Reset" or "Fast like a Girl" by Mindy Peltz (she also has a youtube channel) and "The Hormone Shift" by Tasneem Bhatia.
I am 70 and just started a TH-cam channel. You are not old. I use to think like that at 25 and it took up a lot of my time stressing. You are beautiful ❤
Yes! Do explore hormone replacement. Your bones will benefit, your brain, your heart. There is a10 yr. Window. It is a personal choice. There is so much information out there. I love listening to to dr. Mary Claire Haver, or Barbara Taylor M.D.❤️
I'm 62 now, and everything you mentioned I related to go thru those 10 yrs of learning a new way to live. Now at 62 I'm like, I'm ok with me and I certainly don't have the buzzing in my head am I enough, cause we are perfect just the way we are, what I know now if I could have told my younger self, if would have lifted so much of the negative thoughts, Just Live your best life.
I’m 45 and I believe my perimenopause really went in to full gear at 43- 44. I too, don’t feel like myself. Almost a little depressed. I also have had more anxiety, especially in the morning, and have now switched to decaf as much as possible.😢 I have been on progesterone for many years and now added estriol cream so I hope that helps with life:) It has helped a lot with my bad periods, not so bad anymore. All of you gals are in my thoughts and prayers🙏
Perimenopause is hard. I am 58 now and over it ~ but it was really hard. I bled excessively, could no longer eat bread, rice, pasta (and I lived on that stuff)because of constipation and bloating, couldn’t metabolize alcohol the same ~ I would get sick from 2 drinks ~ and the brain fog was intense, hot flashes, insomnia, under eye wrinkles from loss of collagen etc. Like you I did not feel like myself at all. It’s like it literally happened overnight. HRT saved me. It didn’t solve all of my problems and it’s not for everyone ~ but it helped me feel like ME again. Hang in there. You’re a beautiful woman. You will just need to tweak some of your old habits and figure out what works for you. You got this! Menopause sucks!!!
Thank you! I love hearing from women who went through it and are over it now! I'm not sure I could deal with insomnia, that would be a tough one for me. I'm glad to hear that HRT helped you to feel like you again. 🤗❤🥰
I didn’t have a single wrinkle or any signs of aging until I hit menopause. I’ve been in menopause for 2 1/2 years and I have aged probably 15 years. if you’re 51 years old, you’re definitely in perimenopause you should be in menopause any day now.
Hello Jenifer!😊 I'm a guy that just turned 60 in July. For my birthday I decided to get healthier and purge my body of all toxins. First, I did a 14 day colon cleanse. Then I did a 21 day liver cleanse, using three methods at once, as I had never do it before. Now, I am doing a zombie cell or senescent cell cleanse. I recently read several papers on this and it is pretty fascinating. Zombie cells lead to things such as pre-mature aging, cancers, Alzheimer's, and many other ailments. When we start to get older the immune system can no longer remove the damaging half dead cells from the body. Research has found that a high dose of Quercetin and Fisetin for 3 days destroyed 25% to 35% of zombie cells. Then you wait 11 days and do it again. I am coming up to my 4th and final 3 day cleanse. I will be taking the Fisetin daily when I'm done to stop formation of new cells. Currently I take Centrum Silver (50+) daily, and Probiotics daily. I started taking the probiotics for the colon cleanse (during a cleanse both good and bad bacteria are removed), but kept taking it daily do to age. Probiotics are healthy bacteria that help the whole digestive system. It will speed up and restore your digestion. Continued use of probiotics has also tightened my skin, specifically my hands and neck. It usually takes 12 weeks.
Have you noticed any changes so far on your journey? Physically? Mentally? Did you have any issues before with fatigue? I’m looking for any and all solutions to help with horrible fatigue and heard that detoxing and cleanses can help! Thanks for all the info!
Thank you for sharing your makeup routine. Thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing your insecurities. I can definitely relate with a lot of what you said. You are not alone! You look amazing and I wish my bloodwork is as good as yours! I have some work to do..
Bioidentical hormone pellets changed my life! I can now build muscle again, etc..game changer for sure, and I know so many other women that have had the same experience. They’re expensive, but worth it!
Hit the nail on the on the head for my situation!! Only I’m 54 it just started 2 yrs ago! No one in my family EVER talked about lady stuff! Im hypo thyroid instead. So imagine the work I have to do to maintain my body. It’s not hard as it could be because as soon as I was diagnosed I did research and started the lifestyle.
Hi Jennifer I am close to your mom's age. I am feeling all the things you are feeling, but mine is thyroid. Did you get the complete panel? My t4 was low, then ir went back to normal, now my tsh is high ...which means my thyroid is very low. I have no energy. I don't want to be social. I just want to be home. My husband accepted an invitation to a Labor Day get together. I just want to stay home . Life just changes at different times. I felt so good in my lower fifties. Just like you said this is a temporary time. I notice I can not concentrate to read a book anymore. Everything makes me tired. Two years ago I had more energy than my younger friends. Is your Vit d up there high enough? My doctor likes to see me go to the higher end of vitamin d. I had a hysterectomy when I was thirty six due to very severe endometriosis. I still take estrogen..very small dose. If I don't take estrogen, I literally feel like I am burning up . Jennifer you are a very pretty lady. You may want to get on low dose of a hormone replacement. I had severe brain fog. It cleared that right up. Take care and good luck and remember the little things you focus on, no one even sees it. ❤❤❤❤❤
I am the same age as you, and I am feeling exactly the same way. You are not alone. Thank you for sharing your journey and I look forward to any tips you have.
I can totally relate with what you’re going through. I am a stay at home mom as well and I love it! My kids are 20 and 17 and I’m in perimenopause too. Some days I’m in a funk and other days I feel good. You are so lucky you live in Texas. Have you heard of Dr. Mary Clare Haver?? She is in Texas and is an obgyn and is a huge advocate of HRT. Look into what she has to offer. Good luck
I'm going through perimenopause at 42. I have a period once every 3-4 months. I have no cramps now...which I'm not complaining about! I have hot flashes every now and again. I also have below normal testosterone diagnosed by my gyno. But I'm not taking anything for it, yet. I want to see if I can talk to an endocrinologist to see if there's something else going on because I have more than one hormone issue (testosterone and hypothyroid). I feel good. I've lost 36 lbs in the past year and I'm working out daily. I'm just trying to embrace the fact that my body is changing and roll with it.
You def should go on HRT! I am 51. In perimenopause. Same scenario are you w emotions and aging and my period changing. I see a functional med doc. She tested my hormones. At first I only needed progesterone bc my estrogen was very high and progesterone was low. I felt so much better w that. Then recently my estrogen went to zero! Now I’m on the lowest dose estrogen patch and progesterone pill. My periods are sparse (I’m very close to menopause), my moods are even, I’m calm and happy. It’s a game changer! Most importantly is that our bodies need estrogen. I will be on HRT for life bc I want to protect my heart, bones, brain, urinary tract, skin……all of it! I want to protect my health.
I'm 46 and have stopped eating wheat products, I feel so much better now, I didn't realize what bad effects it had, including on my digestion. I replaced that with pumpernickel and eat a lot of salad and always either chicken, feta cheese, eggs, tuna or fish...it makes a lot of difference
When I used waterproof mascara my eyelashes were thinning and falling out, when I went to ‘regular’ not waterproof mascara they grew back. Is your mascara waterproof?
I'm in perimenopause and decided to start taking HRT a year ago. I decided to start HRT for bone health and also for my overall health, including quality of life. I was having joint aches, brain fog, and other symptoms, which the HRT has eliminated. You should check out Dr. Heather Hirsch's videos, she's a great resource.
Hrt. I've been researching for a few years now, and I have decided that is the route I'll go when I start noticing things. I know its not for everybody, I just hope it continues to be an option for us.
I’m 52 on 12/24. I have 5 children 4 boys ages 34,30,28,18 1 daughter who’s 12. My daughter is going to a new school this year and I’m the oldest mom in there. I’m in early peri menopause too. Skin is oiler now vs dryer. I’m tired and sleep constantly I’m a home bound mom/wife and I love it and wouldn’t dare want to hit corporate world again unless necessary. My husband works from home and we love being g together all the time. I feel older, no doubt, but I’m thankful I’m healthy as one could be for my age. I have joy everyday and I think attitude and gratitude hold the key to how we look and feel as well.
I have read that low estrogen can cause sore joints, girl my finger joints hurt so bad. I have hashimotos too and I think that makes menopause worse. Also remember Dr. Childs says you need about 100 grams of carbs daily for good thyroid function.
I just turned 52 and I can handle the physical changes more than the others. I don’t like feeling sick and strange feelings scares me. But now that I can put a name to what’s happening, I feel better
Not sure why my screen blacks out a few times. That was not on purpose, but I'm just now noticing it. 🙃
Antonia (London)
🙏🙏🙏
Also, maybe talk to ur female Dr!! She will prob have great suggestions!! Mention eyelashes. Maybe need biotin?👍 My sleep has been awful. Really trying to work on it. Oh they have veggie pastas now. Cauliflower rice. Could be gluten issue. 😢 😊
i am 53 and it is better to age then the alternative. be thankful you have lived this long!
Stay strong you are beautiful WE are all aging its normal WE are greatful to age to experience life ❤❤❤
I swear you're one of the most genuinely relatable Women on TH-cam♥️ I love these sit down chatting videos. It's like having a nice long conversation with a best friend💕
What a nice thing to say!!! Thank you so much! And I'm so happy to hear that you think I'm relatable! That's the best compliment! ❤❤🥰
Never have I ever had so much in common with someone here on you tube. You are not alone in how you feel, in what you see and in what you think. Gosh, this hit home!
Awe, I love hearing that we have so much in common! It’s nice to know I’m not alone. We will get through this! 🙌😁❤️
I feel the same way after going through menopause.
I'm alot younger and feel invisible anyway so I guess I'll be well prepared 😅
Hi, you are a very pretty lady! I enjoy watching your videos. I really think if you would stop looking in mirrors, you'd feel a lot happier! Love,Lia
I feel like you are way too focused on what is “wrong” with you! Please focus on the positives. You have so many more than the majority of women (in the looks department). I’m 45. I’m starting to age, I don’t like it, but honestly, I just want to enjoy my life and try to focus less on looks.
@@blueseptember2174Everyone has value. God gives everyone a gift that makes them special. Shine for Him. ❤
God bless. 🧡
Oh dang! I needed to hear that quote! That's pretty powerful. Thank you for sharing that will me! ❤🤗
Wow-the thing you said that resonates with me is the not listening to music as much! I always did in the car and in the shower. Now I like quiet in the shower and I listen to books or podcasts in the car to occupy my mind.
Me too!! Agreed indeed!!
Girl, you are preaching to the choir. I totally understand. Seemed after 55 and menopause the aging is even more rapid. God bless. We are in this together sister.
Agreed 👍
55 has been hard
It comes across as so genuine and I really appreciate that 🖤🖤
48 has been so tough 😅 the wake up at 3 am is so real and hard 😢
Yeah Ilene are we walking at 3? It’s so frustrating.
I'm 53 and finished menopause at 45 (more periods). I have been on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) ever since. Although I am still aging, I still feel like my normal 30-something self. HRT is a game changer.
No more periods is what I meant to say.
I’m 39 and have been coming to your page for years for advice. You make me feel confident about aging, and that you can be beautiful with a youthful spirit at any age!
same! I'm only in my 30s, but really appreciate Jenifer's perspective and life advice (and meal ideas)!
I can so relate to this! Aging is no joke, it’s like watching a candle melt in the sun, everything just starts to slump south! 😩
You're goals for me, I'm 41, you're gorgeous and look like 20 years younger. I think you're overly critical of your own appearance, but trust me as an outsider and older millennial you definitely looks significantly younger than your years.
I'm also 41 and agree
Girl this is me...and I tell myself I have to stop with the critical analysis of myself and just embrace me as I am
You're very beautiful?
I get told it all the time still as a 51 yr old. I’m tall, long blonde hair , blue eyes and lean. I don’t look 51 according to my kids and their friends. Everyone tells me I am , and I do believe I was genetically blessed. It’s all luck of the draw.
@@brookesmith1550 sadly I wasn't blessed or lucky with my looks. It has caused me trauma basically lol. Well, everyone has their path...
I'm having a bit of a hard time with aging because I wasn't beautiful to begin with and now it is even more downhill!
@@charlenewilliams8131 Same sis, same.
The older I get, the less social I am becoming and the more anxiety I have. I miss being young and careless sometimes lol. Yes I'm grateful to be alive and getting older but it still sucks sometimes lol.
@@kcmarie3774 Lol! I agree with everything you said! 😁❤️
What kind of HRT do you take?
I'm 51 and I'm on biodentical progesterone cream, no period in 11 months. As soon as I'm post menopause I'm starting biodentical estrogen cream as well.
I have testesterone and estrogen pellets injected and oral progesterone.
@@victoriachanel2493 I go to a medical spa. I get the testosterone and estrogen pellets injected and take oral progesterone.
Thank you! I’m so happy to know that there are things out there that will help us through this transition. ❤️🤗

Yes, sounds like the loss of the happy feeling is probably a loss in progesterone.
Yes! HRT is life changing! Talk to a menopause specialist!

That’s life,
Do you drink caffeine? I read women who skip caffeine get less hot flashes and other issues related to menopause.
@@dianneb7316 Yes I do drink coffee. I drink two mugs of coffee with milk everyday. I’ve never had hot flashes. I don’t have any symptoms at all.

I have been on biochemical hormone replacement for15 yrs. Life changing!
Hormones would help u❤

You look so good. You give me hope. Life is too short and we can get caught up in comparing ourselves to younger women or our younger selves. Society has made it hard for the “older woman”
I see my momma going through these very changes. She said she feels younger on the inside and one day just didn’t recognize herself in the mirror.
Stay positive. Hormones really helped her. ❤

More protein is key! I've also had to widen my eating window to get enough protein.
You should do a what i eat in a day. Would love to get ideas

There is an absolute switch at 50 like never before. Everything you are speaking about...I agree
Jenifer I think you’d love HRT! It’s the fountain of youth for sure.
Love your videos, Jenifer. Please keep sharing your valuable insight.
Yes! Do explore hormone replacement. Your bones will benefit, your brain, your heart. There is a10 yr. Window. It is a personal choice. There is so much information out there. I love listening to to dr. Mary Claire Haver, or Barbara Taylor M.D.❤️
I was going to suggest Dr Mary Claire Haver. Houston isn't that far from you. It's important to get the best help you can now.
I received my Medicare card in the mail today. 😊 I don't feel or look old enough for this card!
Omg! I feel that wholeheartedly. I’m 46 and mourning my youth.
Thank you for sharing your makeup routine. Thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing your insecurities. I can definitely relate with a lot of what you said. You are not alone! You look amazing and I wish my bloodwork is as good as yours! I have some work to do..
Mary Claire Haver is excellent here on TH-cam for menopause info. She’s an OBGYN and a certified menopause specialist. I just love her information!
Bioidentical hormone pellets changed my life! I can now build muscle again, etc..game changer for sure, and I know so many other women that have had the same experience. They’re expensive, but worth it!
I so relate to not listening to music anymore when I used to be obsessed!!
If your a viable patient I would 100% recommended HRT. Life changing, and protective of many organ systems. Bones especially
You're so right about us being shamed when we want to restore our faces!!!
I bought that brush you recommended awhile back and I really like it. Many things are talked about are relatable!
Very helpful insight. Your ability to clearly state what is our aging reality was on target.
I can relate. I don't hear women talk about these changes in detail. Carnivore diet helped me feel stronger & loose bloat/menopause weight.
Yes 👍
Hrt. I've been researching for a few years now, and I have decided that is the route I'll go when I start noticing things. I know its not for everybody, I just hope it continues to be an option for us.
Right now everything seems pretty manageable, just all at once. But the second it doesn't seem manageable, I will definitely consider HRT. ❤😘
I’m 52 on 12/24.
I have 5 children
4 boys ages 34,30,28,18
1 daughter who’s 12.
My daughter is going to a new school this year and I’m the oldest mom in there.
I’m in early peri menopause too.
Skin is oiler now vs dryer.
I’m tired and sleep constantly
I’m a home bound mom/wife and I love it and wouldn’t dare want to hit corporate world again unless necessary.
