You are beautiful but to me nothing is prettier than natural look. I used to wear makeup whenever I just stepped out the door, two years ago I started microneedling, that little device changed my skin in a way that I am not wearing makeup any longer. I have tried almost everything to look younger, anything from face exercises, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements, retin A etc. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for under 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm in my 20s again, but definitely not 61 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less prominent. People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin.

+1 for kora beauticaIs. I've been doing microneedling since it started 12 or so years ago. Nobody believe I am 55. They all say I am in my 30's or early 40's. As you know, as we get old, our skin gets thinner therefore creating wrinkles. But the wounding kept my skin still thick and youthful. Your comment will help so many women to restore their skin..

I honestly cried by how happy I am to have found a very simple, step by step on how to properly do my eye makeup (the rest is just a nice bonus). My whole life I have been doing my eye makeup exactly like your not as great side and it's been frustrating me even more every single day. I am in the early 30s and due to a little weight gain and genetics, my eyebrows/eyelids seem to have puffed up and drooped so much more that I basically don't have an outer corner. The recreating the spot for my outer corner is life changing. Thank you so much for posting these. I can't tell you how much they help even us younger ladies

As others have said, I'm 53 and the pandemic broke my makeup habits. I went from fear of leaving the house without makeup, to now barely using any makeup because the result makes me look older. Now I see why! I'm grateful TH-cam showed you in my feed, and thank you for the revelations here. I love to paint. I now see how I can think of my face as a paintable surface where I can lead people's eyes where I want them to go.

I did makeup for over 20 years, Lancome, Estee Lauder, Clinique and I've never been taught how to apply makeup differently on older women. This was absolutely perfectly done and so helpful... the main reason I started doing makeup in the first place because I loved helping people feel better about themselves if they had concerns with their look, but now years out of doing makeup professionally, I wish I knew some of the tips you shared here, thank you for your knowledge!

First one was at Circle K, I was purchasing Truly’s and the guy behind the counter asked me for my ID. He looked at my birthday, looked at me, looked again and asked me to take down my mask. LOL He said he thought my birthday should be 1980! Then I brought my son to 5 Guys and the cashier asked me if my eye color was natural and that my eyes were incredible. Thank you so much for posting this.

And for skincare someone who has the same skin as me - dry, mature plus, I pick up so many good product tips from them, google reviews and buy after I'm satisfied with my research. Never bought a product I haven't thought well to super fab of yet. Keep having fun! :)

Honestly, the people saying they like the “wrong side”, it’s not that it’s truly bad. It’s just not meant for older faces. That’s how I learned to do my makeup in my twenties and now that I’m 32 I realize I hated how I looked with makeup and have stopped wearing it. This video made me realize it’s because my face is slowly starting to age and I have to use different techniques. The right side may not look that bad but in comparison, the left looks more youthful and less crusty. I have been looking for tips to do makeup now that I’m getting older and I absolutely loved this video because I started to hate that I looked older with makeup. I’ve seen some of y’all with the right side makeup and I’m telling you, it doesn’t look as great as you think. I was laughing watching this video because I was thinking “omg that’s how I do mine!” (The wrong side) and it helped me understand my facial structure better. The only thing I didn’t like was that she put concealer right under her eye. I found another technique that works better. But it looked fine on her.

Agree, I look at photos of me at weddings etc from 10+ years ago and my makeup was terrible! I didn't use it a lot and only used light products for work on a day to day. I really enjoy makeup now and started watching tutorials about 4+ years ago and am addicted to great tutorials, esp vlogs from mature plus women. I've bought a lot of new makeup (foundations of all sorts, eye palettes, concealers, primers, quality brushes etc) and have my go to for a few looks e.g. light and no makeup makeup days, a little something but still fresh looking, a medium soft glam look for a dinner out or birthday BBQ/party with friends and a something special look for weddings and special glam nights out. So much fun. Only thing I'd do differently to Dominique is because I have blondish lashes, I do a very light coat of mascara on my bottom lashes with a mascara that is quite 'wet' so it coats ever so thinly. It's practice and at 32 and with the info out there on YT and the amount of different coverage looks you may be after, its a plethora of good stuff out there. Know your skin tone (pink, golden etc) and type (dry, oily etc). Do enjoy! And do splurge on yourself!

The high blush above the contour and avoidance of intense light eyeshadow on the lids are two mainstays for me. This is quite possibly the best tutorial I've seen. I've watched hundreds and never followed a single one until today. Thank you for this video!

What a great tutorial Dominique!! These past few years I stopped wearing makeup because it makes me look older than I’d prefer, but still want to look glowing. Just turned 60 in December and I prefer a more natural look. Can’t wait to try this. Thank you. Also, I’ve been using clean, organic, nontoxic skincare products and makeup. I’d love to see you do a video with clean products. Thanks for sharing your great tips!! Be blessed🙏🏻

Tried it. HUGE difference! I even broke out the dark lipstick I regretted buying, with a lighter liner and softer touch, it looks great. Thanks, Dominique. You really are the best.

wow wow WOW!! This is the 1st tutorial video I have seen from you Dominique, for a while now I've realised that my make up was making me look old but I couldn't pinpoint what I was doing wrong, (and for a while there I completely gave up wearing make up ) and yes you've nailed nearly every single thing I've been doing! Doing it like this really shows the small differences in application that lead to a completely different result!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! 🤗😀🤯😄

That was incredibly informative. I’m 60 now and have to rethink my daily makeup and get back to wearing makeup after sitting at home not worried about how I looked because of Covid. Thank you.

This is the first time I’ve ever even looked at a video of anyone doing makeup. I’m a lot older than you, but I still don’t look ancient, but I’ve never changed the way I put my makeup on since I was a lot younger. I’m excited to see how the changes affect my appearance. Thanks!

A lot of great info in this vid! Thanks a lot.
One thing that helped me personally and pretty drastically was a little gadget I purchased from eBay. It lifts my face instantly, although it last for about 2-3 days it's definitely worth it, it didn't make me 20's again but at least made my nasolabial folds much less prominent.

Can you tell me what gadget you bought? How is it called? I have the same nosolabial folds problem

      A little gadget from eBay?
      It lifts your face instantly?
      It lasts 2-3 days?
      Worth the money?
I give up- What is it?
I'm sure you didn't mean to tease such a product, then keep it secret . Could you please edit your comment to share the info ? Thanks

I'm only 35 and I get told I look younger all the time (when I'm not wearing makeup which is most of the time). But whenever I do my makeup, I always feel like I look at least 10 years older and it doesn't give me confidence to wear makeup obviously. I have slightly hooded/downturned eyes and the lip shape like yours. But looking at this tutorial, I now realize I've been doing almost everything the 'wrong side', which is now starting to make more sense. So thank you for making this tutorial and highlighting how you can do it even better, I can't wait to try this out.
