Need for Speed 4 (High Stakes) - Dolphin Cove with Ferrari F50 (Single Race)

With Need for Speed Heat on the horizon I decided to do a quick revisit of the 21 previous NFS games leading up to the launch of Heat. Here you can see Need for Speed 4 (High Stakes), which was released in 1999 for PC and PS1. In this game I recorded a race on Dolphin Cove against AI with the Ferrari F50.
Need for Speed 4 has not only 10 completely new tracks but also brings back the 9 tracks from Need for Speed 3.
Like all 21 main NFS games Need for Speed 4 can be played on a modern PC with Windows 10, with the help of some fan-made patches like the Stock Pack and the Expansion Pack.
Just like in NFS 3 there were also some differences between the PC and PS1 versions in NFS 4.
And just like the previous games NFS 4 is also well known for its awesome music. The garage theme might be known to you from customization videos by IsuckAtDriving. And the race music in this video is called Def Beat and was also used in Gran Turismo and Test Drive games.
One thing that is a bit weird in the PC version is the fact that damage and collision are tied to each other. When I turn off the damage it will turn off collision as well, even though I would normally want to have that on against AI.
I will attempt to show you all 21 existing NFS games before the release of Heat, so expect to see a video almost every day from now until the release of Heat and on some days even two. :)

Nice, I love High Stakes! I've actually recently started this up again, and it's as fun as I remembered it. The high stakes challenges in Career mode are thrilling; I've been farming cars haha. Timeless game!

ohhhh boy!! This game took me BACK to my childhood. I remember playing this on an ATI Rage 128 and an AMD Athlon on a Viewsonic CRT monitor. I spent hours on this game after I discovered it at a cousin's house. They had the All In Wonder Ati Rage 128 and could play it on the big screen rear projection TV. The soundtrack, ambiance and vehicle handling were top notch. I remember when driving the BMW Z3 coupe, if you banged it up with sloppy driving it would not perform as well. I remember I either had a Microsoft Sidewinder controller or a Logitech one. Both were great.

I loved how they had some of the previous A1 racers from NFS3 Hot Pursuit stay in this game. Like Ace and Gotcha. And then when you opened up the Memory Lane tracks, the others like Ram Rod and Muligan came in too. I remember playing these games so much that some of the A1 seemed to have different drive styles and skill. Ace was always the best and a clean racer and Gotcha was usually second best and was kind of a douche who would honk and hit you. I remember making Bogey the daughter (I thought it sounded like a female name) of Mulligan lol

In the PC version the collision is turned off when you turn off damage. It's not my choice, lol. I would prefer damage off but collision on.

It's automatically off when you turn off damage, which is kind of annoying. I would prefer to only turn off damage and leave collision on.

How is this available? A combination of NFS 3 hot pursuit and NFS highstakes? How is it done? 2nd thing why is the graphic different from the highstakes I had?

What do you mean with combination? This is just High Stakes. Not Hot Pursuit. And this is the PC version. Maybe you played it on PS1?

Why the car is not solid? it can pass throw cars... My version of NFS 4 the car is also not solid.

You have collision turned off in the assist options. You can turn it on there but then damage will be on too. Unfortunately you can't turn them on and off individually for some reason.
