Need for Speed 5 (Porsche) - Autobahn with Porsche 911 GT1 (Single Race)

- With Need for Speed Heat on the horizon I decided to do a quick revisit of the 21 previous NFS games leading up to the launch of Heat. Here you can see Need for Speed 5 (Porsche), which was released in 2000 for PC and PS1. In this game I recorded a race on Autobahn against AI with the Porsche 911 GT1.
Need for Speed Porsche for PC has 9 sprint tracks in different locations and 5 circuit layouts in Monte Carlo.
All of the cars in the game are from Porsche but there are many different models from 1950 to 2000.
Like all 21 main NFS games Need for Speed Porsche can be played on a modern PC with Windows 10.
Once again the PC and PS1 versions are quite different, maybe even more than in the previous games. In the PS1 version there are actually some free roam maps with police.
NFS Porsche has not only a career mode called Evolution but also a Factory Driver story, which is similar to the Challenge Series in some of the later NFS games.
The physics of the PC version have aged very well and I can definitely understand why some people view Porsche as the best NFS game of all time.

I will attempt to show you all 21 existing NFS games before the release of Heat, so expect to see a video almost every day from now until the release of Heat and on some days even two. :)
The reason why I started loving PORSCHE'S
Really loving Carrera/911 since this game. Same for Boxster.

@@ThatShitGood And it was because of the contract between porsche and EA that lasted until 2016 that we didn't have porsches in games other than need for speed without having to pay a lot of money.
worst thing is that they never made any remake/remaster of Porsche 2000 which is shame, now it's even less liekly somethiing like this will happen@@Milgraaauuu
We need to get a new Porsche Unleashed 2020, would love to have this game done over with new cars and more cars from Porsches history.
They could even maintain the graphics and do it online, would be still enjoyable

I would love to just have a redesigned NFS Porsche 2000 but with enreal engine 5 graphics.
Hopefully without another exclusive license agreement that wiped out Porsche for 16 years from other racing games.
The PS1 version had more cars, not sure why they didn't make it to the PC version.

Back in those days... Graphics looked so realistic. Now smartphone graphics beat them. But they are yet to catch up on sound effects & most games don't even fully utilise the power of sound.

Hi friend, maybe I'm late, but on my NFS 5 Porsche Unleashed I've never found this freeway? I had unlocked every single stuff back then on my PSX, maybe this it was a more advanced version? Looks totally different from mine :P

This is the PC version of the game. For NFS Porsche the PS1 and PC versions were very different from each other.
The colors look more realistic than in any Forza game.
Why can't developers make realistic looking graphics like this anymore?

I had personal issues with System racing names Frank and Boomer in this game. I always used to crash them if i play for fun.

This car doesn't seem to behave as realistically as the 911s and the Boxster.
Literally the first video game I ever played
This was peak Need For Speed for PC. NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was only good on the PS2, the Xbox and GC versions were gimped. 2005's Most Wanted had a horrible piss filter to everything. Lastly 2010's Criterion Games NFS was a Burnout game in all but name.
On PC you can actually turn off the color filter for Most Wanted in the graphics options (although for some reason a lot of people seem to prefer it with the filter, since people always accuse me of playing with "low graphics" when I show the game without it).
Would it be faster if you chose the left path which is shorter at the first turn of the track?

The pc/xbox/gamecube version of hot pursuit 2 by EA Seattle isnt very good compared to ps2 version by EA Black Box. The PS2 version is the best. Please try to upload the ps2 version of nfs hp2 in next video

no its valid, GT racing cars have it on the right hand side just like the old Ford GT40s. Since most pit lanes are on the right side, it makes driver changes a little bit quicker. And the reason why the transmission is located on the right side is because most of the drivers are right handed so with that they would not have to learn shifting with the left hand

But how do you know what time I can do there? I don't think I have ever even practiced that one, or most of the tracks in this game really.

I posted a lap of 1:38:56 on a tuned 911 (930) reaching 460km/h lol, that's 50 seconds faster than your standard GT1 :D
:D Do that without cheating you dickhead. You don't even use the optimal racing lines, instead you've bumped up the engine power and traction. And having the nerve to go brag about it - unbelievable. Go watch some [SK]Wazza's records to realize how much you've fucked up
