    i have used 2 of these , last 2 winters for emergency heat ,,,here in the USA,first u raise up new wicks,cut the loops at top,then even them at same hight,i pour fuel into wicks from the top ,to get them soaked in fuel first time,,its more like a fuel pan where u pour fuel in, the 8 wick holder part does not lock into bottom, it more like just sits on top of fuel pan,,keep a fire extenguisher nearby, if this thing gets knocked over while burning, you will have a raging fire on your floor!!!!! it made of thin sheet metal, and will rust easily,, not something to last 10-20 years.. do not transport with fuel in tank!!!!! it will just slosh out,,Diesel is way cheaper than kerosene, burns just fine,, although Diesel will use up wick faster than kerosene,replacement wicks are at nearby store that sells cheap cotton rope type mops,,bend cotton replacement wick in half,use thin wire to go through hole where wick will be, put wire through top of loop, pull wick up to the top,,,Kerosene or Diesel ONLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont even think of using alcohol or gasoline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will just explode!!!!!!!!!when turning off,lower wicks low as they will go, wait 10 seconds, put on safety glasses,, and blow into burner and blow out flame, wicks will last longer,and not once in 2 years has a flame jumped up to burn me..

I bought the same its one month now and i’ve always been openning it to light it and when am done with cooking i would get little cold water and pour on top then blowvit up… one month now i hadn’t figured out all these and my own ways would give me hard times at time.. so today I decided to come and check out here on TH-cam. With the rising price of gas canisters possibly interested in this. A few questions:-
    (1) Can you approximate the time it takes to boil a litre of water?
    (2) Does it function on a breezy day.
    (3) Can the fuel be sealed in stove if I'm touring?
    Many thank in advance.

    I have one of these. They are great for cooking. I would never use it as a heater in an in closed tent or vehicle. They put out a very foul odor. My nose is used to burning hydrocarbons but this is too much to endure for to long. Much worse than a kerosene heater or oil lantern. I can only imagine how bad it would be using diesel fuel.

    Using diesel for a kerosene stove is dangerous and may lead to explosion.

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No it wont. Kerosene is refined diesel and if anything would be more explosive. Diesel and kerosene have to be put under around 500 pounds per square inch to create an explosion. You would have much more to worry about if the conditions were correct than the diesel exploding.

    They are tin-pot cheap-ass third-world stoves, that cost a few bucks and can burn a selection of fuels to blue heat with high efficiency.
    Necessity is the mother of invention, and whilst most of these come from China if you buy them on Amazon, many of them are made in back street workshops in Pakistan.
