  • We continue painting the side of our narrowboat, with the aim of getting it looking as close to a professional finish as possible...
    In this episode we sand back the first coat of rust treatment, apply filler to some areas needing major work, sand that smooth and then re rust treat the entire boat.
    It's no Quick task painting a boat - especially when trying to do it while the boats still on the canal - and we are touring the country on it at the same time!

    Peter and Dawn - Nice Job! I looks like a strimmer would come in handy with some of those random canal moorings. Thanks for speeding up the video during all the sanding, which seems to take forever when you are in the midst of it. Dawn, you are a Great help! Peter, you seemed to have inherited that handy Yorkshireman talent for tackling virtually any project that comes along, that and using TH-cam to research the project before diving in. I am guessing your boat is at least 25 years old from the number of coats of paint that are sanding off. I wish you both the best!

    • @WingingItBoatingonaBudget
      @WingingItBoatingonaBudget  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We 'think the boat was built originally in the 80's and its last major overall was almost 10 years ago, so the paintwork certainly has a few stories to tell. In reality that day we did around 8 hours work and I guess 6 hours of that was sanding, so I speeded up the bits we showed and missed out a LOT of it altogether. It wouldn't make for good viewing at all!

      @@WingingItBoatingonaBudget Thanks Peter for the history on your boat, it looks to be in reasonably good condition in the video. Yes, your video length of sanding was just about right. Watching sanding is typically in the same category as watching paint dry.
