Just because she didn’t broadcast her trauma on national tv doesn’t mean she doesn’t have any that was triggered by him entering her space without her consent. Clearly she has an issue with men, she specifically asked if any would be in the home. The landlord said only his wife and women tenants would be there and he would give her 24 hours notice before entering her room. He did none of this. It doesn’t matter how silly this seems to you and the judge. An agreement is an agreement and he broke it. She was extremely biased in this case. I have seen her stick to words written in a lease and she didn’t with this one because she (and you) think she’s being dramatic. Shame on you. I hope you don’t call yourself a feminist. She may not have been entitled to $10k and her job loss is her fault, but he violated the lease. Period.

A 1 bedroom apartment would cost her $2500 in Menlo Park (near Stanford) if she's lucky. And she still has to take care of the mortgage and bills at her home in Sacramento. That $57 an hour would be stretched real thin if she doesn't have any help.

@@froi916 $57 an hour. So let's say she works 9 hours - that means she earns $513 per day. Let's assume she works 5 days a week (Mon-Fri) that means in 1 week she gets $2,565. In 4 weeks (1 Month) she would earn $10,260. If she wanted to live in Menlo Park she could easily afford it AND she would have $7,500 still left to pay her mortgage and bills in her old home. Even if she set aside $2,500 for bills/mortgage in her old home, she would still have $5,000 left from her monthly $10,000. So nothing she says makes sense because she had more money than needed. Remember in the healthcare industry the hours can be much longer, so her days may be 10/12 hours long and perhaps she might have to work on weekends. So $10,260 a month would be the MINIMUM she would earn. If she can't get her s**t together for $10,000 a month then there's no helping her at all.

The whole thing people seem to be forgetting is this was a roommate situation. Not an apartment or a house where the landlord was inviting himself in without cause. He lived there. Yes, i agree he should not have entered her room under any circumstances but when you rent rooms out to people, people tend to get comfortable like if it was a family and forget that some people have real issues. She entered his room to put money on his table, he probably just didn't even think about if she would feel different. But to end the lease over it and lose her job. No. She could've sent him an email letting him know how she really did not appreciate him entering the room and ask him not to do it again. And if he did then take action. She over did it and I'm betting it's how she operates in her daily life. Just sad she would allow this to hinder a good job. She needs some help.

She should have got that in writing before she moved in if it was vital for her. The landlord shouldn't have gone into her room but that wasn't worth $10,000 in compensation. With regard to the landlord entering her room, her responses in her emails to him were understated, and the judge took that into consideration. She was citing all kinds of "reasons" for her move when it appeared she wanted to bail on the lease because he retracted on renting the whole house to her. In other words, it appeared somewhat retaliatory. However I will say that landlords -- or heads of households -- frequently feel as if they do have the right to enter a renter's room, and in his case, it was extremely passive aggressive. In other words, he used this so-called innocent reason to enter her room in order to legitimize "snooping" ... This is something that many people who rent rooms do unfortunately.

    • @DavidKen878

@@whale6144 Thats assuming. Keep in mind, she was renting a ROOM in his HOUSE. He doesn't need a reason to enter her room when he can just do it when she's not there and she would never know. No one wants their landlord coming into their home when they're not there. We all get that. What we (myself and Judge Milian) don't get is why she's acting like he committed some heinous act, as if he walked in on her naked? All he did was leave a receipt. Since it's her living situation, she's right to feel any way about it as she please.
