@@robertgray6310 Local court is usually SWAMPED with cases and could sometime take YEARS. The court shows usually invite the people on to their show by having producers go through actual court cases. Plaintiffs with legitimate cases choose to go on these shows becuase it is usually faster than 'regular' court, and if they win their case, they are pretty much guaranteed to receive their losses. Too many people use shame to silence women into not speaking up. And I think it was good she went on TV, too many faceless scums get away with being trash. Now ppl can see his face. Proud of her!

We're only human, and sometimes we make poor choices, but that doesn't excuse the actions of others. Like the judge said he was counting on her silence because he knew suing or complaining would just put the attention on her and the video, which is something that perpetrators do to victims because they know everyone will blame the woman. You can see the pain in her face and his smile throughout the case says it all. You would think that a married man accused of a sexual crime and cheating would show more anger if he was innocent.
Same thing happened to me but I was a minor (16) at the time and the person who humiliated me was 18 and he actually recorded me without my prior knowledge or consent. The amount of emotional distress he caused lasted throughout my whole senior year and I found out the next year that he would show guys in class while they were all sitting at the table behind me. I have a daughter now and when she’s high school age we will have a talk about safe sex, consent, and her options for if or when someone breaches her privacy and trust. I regret not coming forward and letting my mom handle it because we never talked about sex and I was embarrassed. But my daughter will know that she does not need to keep her head down and her earbuds in like I did. If the parents of these boys won’t teach their sons morals, then they will learn the hard way and suffer the ramifications of their thoughtless actions.

Plaintiffs with legitimate cases choose to go on these shows becuase it is usually faster than 'regular' court, and if they win their case, they are pretty much guaranteed to receive their losses.

Same thing happened to me but I was a minor (16) at the time and the person who humiliated me was 18 and he actually recorded me without my prior knowledge or consent. The amount of emotional distress he caused lasted throughout my whole senior year and I found out the next year that he would show guys in class while they were all sitting at the table behind me. I have a daughter now and when she’s high school age we will have a talk about safe sex, consent, and her options for if or when someone breaches her privacy and trust. I regret not coming forward and letting my mom handle it because we never talked about sex and I was embarrassed. But my daughter will know that she does not need to keep her head down and her earbuds in like I did. If the parents of these boys won’t teach their sons morals, then they will learn the hard way and suffer the ramifications of their thoughtless actions.

I'm not letting even my husband record me. Because of the digital age a mistake lives on FOREVER. Just because the video was taken down off the site doesn't mean it's destroyed and won't be reposted somewhere else unbeknownst to the plaintiff and defendant.

@@edwardgilbert3232 no matter her background, he had absolutely NO RIGHT to post that video WITHOUT HER EXPLICIT PERMISSION. Also, this isn’t criminal court, and the judge can’t pass down any punishment for that offense. Whoever it is in her jurisdiction will have to handle that however they please. At the end of the day, he posted a video of her without her permission (which in about 37 states is considered a FELONY, punishable by prison time), and he most likely received payment from it, which is also illegal. Yes, she should be held accountable for her wrong doings, but at the end of the day he shouldn’t be absolved of his wrong doings. Just like you want her to be held accountable, he needed to be held accountable as well. I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s done it before
