I am Native American and was raised a 49ers fan being from California. At 12 years old I saw a game with my dad and saw the redskins logo and told my dad I saw our nose. I asked that day if I could choose my own team and have been a fan since. It made me proud and I felt represented.
The ones who who pushed for changing the name aren't stupid they understand it's not racist and it's a representation of native American culture to have a native American historical personality on the logo of a team, they're just people who make money by making up racist stuff to complain about and sue

I have friends who are from the Jicarilla, Mescalero, and White Mountain Apache reservations and they were very upset with the name change. They loved the Cowboys vs Redskins games and stopped watching the NFL all together because of this.
Honor the Native Americans. I was told by many Native Americans it was a unique badge of honor. I heard the story of Redskins was a right of passage. This made me a bigger fan. I’m part Cherokee/part Irish from the southern United States and was raised a cowboys fan, but still liked the redskins for years because I felt like they represented Native Americans. I’m now a Kansas City chiefs fan as an adult, and even though I’m from the south and not a catholic, I’ve still got a soft spot in my heart for Norte Dame because I felt like they represented Irish Americans well…. I would like to see Washington's NFL franchise be renamed the Redskins. There was nothing wrong with the name. It lasted between 1937-2019. The only reason it was dropped because in 2020, during the George Floyd incident, the name was a victim of cancel culture, not racism. Then owner Dan Snyder had sponsors who were going to drop him if he kept the old name back. Stay tuned.

I resent the term “Native American” applying to one group whose ancestors migrated to the American continents before 1492. All of our ancestors migrated here, pre and post 1492. I was born here, ergo I am a Native American too.

I’m part Cherokee/part Irish from the southern United States and was raised a cowboys fan, but still liked the redskins for years because I felt like they represented Native Americans. I’m now a Kansas City chiefs fan as an adult, and even though I’m from the south and not a catholic, I’ve still got a soft spot in my heart for Norte Dame because I felt like they represented Irish Americans well…. I’m proud of being who I am, just like I’m proud of being an AMERICAN in general…. The only way we beat the far left cancel culture is to all join forces as brothers and fight a common enemy. ✝️🇺🇸

First they thought to get the name change because they thought it was wrong to have a team called the Redskins which I thought was correct but now they want to have the teams go back to using the native American term Redskin it’s very confusing

I have not followed the Commanders or The Football Team. When they win, it is not as exciting as the Redskins winning. Politics should not be in sports. I don't even hear their fight song "Hail to the Redskins".anymore. in baseball, I would like to see the Cleveland Indians get their name back.
