Like others, I found 1) using a tracer string useful 2. removing electric window button assembly essential! (Prize out from LHS of assembly) 3. Also (like comment by Moleontube) had to remove window blind as well as window trim - there is a blanking plate at top left. which hides a screw which once removed, allows complete window blind/ trim assembly to be lifted off a hook at the bottom left. 4. Also found single extra wire as well as main wiring loom when removing original mirror assembly. After demolishing the casing of the old mirror assembly, found this was a thin co-axial cable connected to the radio aerial which was installed on the inside casing. Managed to strip this out then install it behind the actual mirror assembly of the after market mirror which of course, did not have the aerial. All in all quite a job at the end of the day, however all working now! I mention these 'extras' to hopefully help others with the same job.

    1. Have the window open. 2. When you pull existing wiring out tie a string on to it to draw the new cable back through easier.

      Something else to note.
      .
I've just seen a repair on another channel for a seemingly unrelated fault.
      .
      Vehicle in limp mode.
      .
A clue was the outside temperature display on the dash showed "----°C"
      .
The vehicle had an aftermarket driver side mirror assembly fitted.
      .
That unit only had one loom/ connector.
      .
There was no outside temperature sensor inside the mirror (there's a hole in the bottom of the mirror unit)
      .
      Fault diagnosis.
      .
The DPF (soot) filter in the exhaust completes a periodic soot burn.
It requires an outside temperature reading as a reference for that operation.
      .
No sensor, no DPF burn, then the filter clogs, causing power loss at speed.
      .
If the unit you're taking off has two looms (1 grey, one black connector) you MUST
      1) Swap for an original unit,
      or
      2) Dismantle both units and swap the loom,
      or
      3) Buy an aftermarket sensor (±£7 on eBay?)
      .
I would choose #2, you know the sensor is good.
      .
If you're stripping the unit, I believe you can buy just the outside cover, the Indicator and the mirror glass as required and swap them in situ. This can be done on the vehicle.
It's tricky, but you need to strip the unit anyway if you're fitting / swapping a sensor.
      .

Great video - I have to replace both my mirrors, and this video made things so much easier than I had expected - Having just done the LHS (which included removing a Remis window blind - which also proved interesting) I came across a couple of points
    1) I have a Rapido 703F which may be the reason I was able to do the next thing - I did find removing the electric window button cover seated at the top of the arm rest thingy made feeding wires through and even seeing everything so much easier than trying to do everything from underneath via the speaker hole
    2) The new mirror I got only had the one wiring loom which fitted in as per this video. The old mirror that I removed had three wire looms - the main one but two additional smaller cables. I 'unplugged' all three in order to remove the mirror - but obviously only had the one loom to plug back in. I did check that the indicator and both mirror and blind spot adjusters all work and they do. So wonder what those additional wiring cables were for ?

Taken the trim off and my wiring doesn't look anything like that! There are two plugs attached to the door underneath the switches on the door panel. I have already ordered what I thought was the replacement wing mirror assembly. Now I think that there are different versions to what is described here. I'll have to wait and see what arrives I guess.

Hi, can you advise where you purchased the wing mirror. There are various venders online including ebay, however I want make sure I order a quality item, and that it's compatible for my 2019 Adria Twin. Thanks

An excellent video. I would like to see more like this. One idea, tie a piece of string, or similar, to the end of the wire before pulling it through to the hole. Remove the string from the wire and then fasten it to the new wire and you should be able to pull it through. Hope that is clear.

You pry the electric window switch up from the rear with a flat screwdriver. Unplug the two swithces on it and you have easy access to the cable and indicator plug.

Great video and very helpful. One quick question - who do you use as the seller on Ebay please. I've just purchased one at £60, however I'm going to have to return it as the T40 screw holes don't align properly and when I present it to the body the angle of the mirror arm in its detent position is not the same as the existing fiat mirror and I can only just see down the side of the vehicle body even at full electrical adjustment. Its going back, but I'm hesitant to buy another unless it's of better quality

Excellent stage by stage, however, it would be helpful, accepting that the Ducato aftermarket assembly is ok to use, what one does if the ariel is in the housing as with most Motorhomes. This is not usually supplied in the aftermarket product and I imagine must require a much more in depth procedure. It would also be helpful if there is a way of tightening the mirror arm to stop it from moving back as one drives along.

Great video but just one question. I've got a 2016 Adiana Matrix, will my wing mirror have a radio antenna fitted inside? The one you fitted didnt seem to have one. I don't want to spend this extra money if its not necassary. Thanks!
