Man, you’re are one of several modular artist that inspired me to get into modular. Hope to meet you some day and provide my appreciation. This is truly amazing
It's always a pleasure to listen to your sonic explorations. I can hear pain, sadness, melancholy but also longing, love, and a passion to music not everyone has. I'm looking forward to your next one.
un trabajo de gran belleza, es un lujo escuchar tus trabajos esta precioso ese opsix colocado en vertical de frente xD ansioso de escuchar ya la siguiente, un abrazo amigo !!!
I love to hear you develop as a composer, here extending your form. At first I wasn't sure why everything was so on edge. But then the beautiful plan to make it all better unfurled. Then those beautiful unstable chewy stream of bees at the end, I don't even know what that is, but you can almost reach out and touch it.
thank you for the thoughtful comment. I've been exploring the balance of uncomfortable sounds and pretty sounds over the last few months, kind of mirroring some life changes I've recently gone through. or at least trying to implement it. means the world to me that you picked up on some of that. thank you again for checking this video out.
@@rbeny your welcome. To be honest, it's me who should be thanking you. Your albums were the foreground soundtrack to years of forest walks. That was a big help in getting through some grief for a death in the family. There's some uncommon depth in the undercurrent of emotions in your music. I hope you keep developing you beautiful body of work, as you struggle on too.
@@rbeny Been there with a root canal in the past, not fun. Gritty dark dronecore that breaks through to spaced-out tranquil ambient music is the ideal remedy, oh wait *rewinds video and listens again* yep, there it is :D
liking Hapax quite a bit. it basically takes all of the concepts I enjoy about Hermod/Pyramid (recording MIDI/CV data that I play into it and altering those sequences) and provides a much smoother UI experience. it's much easier to go in and edit sequences after the fact (not just easier, but more tools for doing so). there are a few things I miss from Hermod. like setting up polyphonic CV sequencing. and having 8 pairs of CV/gate was extremely useful. 4 pairs on Hapax is usually enough, but I did pick up an Expert Sleepers FH-2 for when I need more.
Hi is it possible to shift all sequenced tracks simultaneously from one chord (or degree within a given scale) to another with a single touch of a button in real time like the OXi one can manage? So say in A Phrygian from ii-v-i for example
that is a good question and I'm not sure of the answer. I know you can transpose/shift all sequenced simultaneously, but I'm not 100% sure about specific chord degrees within scales. you can shift chord degrees, but not sure about all tracks at once. will give it a shot, but hope that helps clarify a bit
Hey Austin, loved this piece. Bought one of your albums on bandcamp the other day, been rinsing it, it's so beautiful. Can I ask a question if you have time? I'm looking at building my first Eurorack setup. My tastes are generative ambient, slow pads, Stars of the Lid, r beny, Ann Annie, and so on. I play a lot of guitar and I'd love to play over the top. I'd love to know what modules you'd recommend. VCOs, VCAs, sequencer, reverb, case? I know it's a big question but any words of wisdom would be hugely gratefully received.
Thank you for supporting on Bandcamp. I hesitate to recommend specific modules usually, since a modular setup can be so personal for someone. For one person, it can be a souped up mono synth, for another a whole orchestra of sounds or samples, for another just effects processing or looping. I'd recommend checking out VCV rack if you haven't already. It's no secret I love Mutable Instruments modules and most of them are ported to VCV rack for free. This can give you a good idea of how things would interact with your guitar straight away. And you can kind of find out what you gel with it from a function level and decide to explore further from there. I'm always happy to answer questions about specific modules when the time comes (or recommend things for more specific functions), but I wouldn't want to recommend something that you wouldn't gel with. Hope that helps a little bit.
oh man, that sounded very nice. I can almost feel the warmth that the AH gives to the whole sound. are you using it as an end of chain for the entire signal or just for the modular?
end of chain for the entire signal - the Opsix is running through the eurorack as well. the Heat really does a great job of glueing everything together. I have to admit, I am curious about the Oto Boum
variety is the spice of life. I think it would be somewhat difficult to replicate, or at least it would end up in a different space due to its limitations. hoping Korg makes a new Electribe someday, but for the Opsix is blowing my mind the same way the Electribe did many years ago.
@@rbeny Dude, thank you for the beautiful inspiration. I love what you do with the medium. Ya, I have his Lil Mim still thankfully, but I miss that stereo crunch. I'd run the Weather Drone through it into a 3 Sisters and could just sit there and listen to it hum away all day long. Beautiful panel too
It’s always a great day when there’s a new R Beny video going live. Absolutely gorgeous as always man. Great work.

Man that was soothing.
That moment when the intro fell apart and faded into that beautiful mystical melody part ❤️.... absolutely wonderful!!!
It’s as impressive as gorgeous. The energy and textures that are dancing on it is just amazing. Thank you for sharing this and please, share more!
Such a pleasure to find new-ish material from you! Thank you so much r beny :) You're so very much appreciated!

2:45 when the bells start. ❤️
It's a new r beny, have to like it. :)
Great piece. How are you liking the Hapax and what does it bring to the table vs. the Hermod for you?

Babe wake up! New r beny
Hey there, huge fan! More Rbeny :) Just wondered how you did the bouncing ball type rhythm at the top of this track? Thanks for the inspiration!
mate, this is an amazing piece of work. Is that intro part the Opsix?
indeed, the first 2 minutes is all Opsix (running through the eurorack)
if i get stressed theres always an r beny track that helps alot , thankyou

@@rbeny Thinks it's the match chord function
