    The last hymn "all things bright and beautiful " is my favorite, but the choir was awesome. Kudos to who posted this🤜🏽👍🏽😇

    Choral rules. Listen to Ceremony Of Carols by Britten. Amazing.

    just a helpful hint, if you change the minute-second length of each song in your video description, if you change it to the time in the video when it appears, it will allow every viewer to skip to whatever song they want. to me, at least, the length of the song is less important to when it starts in the video. Thanks!

    Lovely ...exquisite boys' voices in a superb cathedral.......but where are the boys?
    Endless repeated visions of superb stonework.....but none of the boys themselves
    and their conductor. Why? It would be so much better if we could see them as they sing these fine compositions we all love!

      +Douglas Brown Between ~2:00 & ~2:30 is a still shot of some singers, photo shopped with the director shown in motion directing. Not sure if they're the ones we're listing to . . . and only a very few are shown.

      +RicardoD It's not a still photo, they're all in motion, and they aren't the choristers we're hearing. Although that is the conductor, Dr Flood

      If youre a believer, the point isnt to focus on the singers, but the message.

      It seems as though you worship the music and not God. The music is there to enhance worship, not to worship.

    So reminded of the Manchester schooldren's choir Symphs and shepherds come, come
    away

      That was a classic! With the Humperdinck.

    Jack Reason is right and Will misses the point. Music is not for itself but a gift of God to man to celebrate life and His glory and to sung and played in a great temple such as Canterbury.

    Canterbury Cathedral is no place for a wimpy chorister. You really have to "belt it out" to be heard in this place.

    • @guylaurie819
      @guylaurie819 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Poor choice of words. No professional choir "belts anything out".

    • @francisscott8527
      @francisscott8527 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rather, lift up your voice. With cathedral acoustics even soft voices blend and can be heard without straining or belting out. So there.

    You didn't use the proper time signatures, now they don't work. Always use the formats: 00:00:00 or 00:00. Like this Sidney Campbell at 18:44

    What is the dedication of Canterbury Cathedral? Is it St Augustine?

    • @KentishLad
      @KentishLad 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, it was Augustine himself who originally founded the Cathedral, in 597AD, and he made the dedication to Jesus Christ. The Cathedral is sometimes referred to as Christ Church.

      I worked in Kent and Canterbury hospital as a Staff Nurse in the early 2000s and I used to stand outside the Cathedral to get the bus back to Deal in the morning. Wonderful place and wonderful music
