The Maus is a surprisingly okay these days. Maybe I had good luck but I find I can take more fire than I used to. What do you guys think? 3% off Gaijin Store store.gaijin.net/catalog.php?category=WarThunder&partner=IronArmenian&partner_val=u5g16ff2 and you get my decal too Thanks again @kopiRid for the taking my silly idea and animating it :D
100%. I complained recently about them in a match and got the default "skill issue bro" response, but genuinely, they have started tanking shots like crazy. Yeah, used to be easy to handle with side shots and turret cheeks but now not so much. Or maybe it's just a skill issue.
I will say this much Iron, the Maus becomes a lot more usable if you bind the secondary cannon to a different button and load up on a bit of that HEAT. Good for tracking, dealing with smaller targets that the 128 is just overkill for and not worth the lengthy reload, and removing obstacles.
@@yarnickgoovaerts Until you hit a BTR or something else as lightly armoured and your shell goes through while the fuse goes "unbothered, in my lane, moisturised, flourishing" without noticing the slight obstacle in its path.
Tbh really the main use for the secondary is for lobbing smoke shells, which is very useful for moving through areas with little cover or you are being shot from long range by something scary you can smoke the area in front of them aswell as it also being being great for help with dealing with multiple enemy's.
That secondary usage...was atrocious. Its one thing to use it to clean trees, but whole another to use it at the same time with main gun, it should be considered severe skill issue.
When I spend 3 minutes driving backwards in an r3 to make fun of the maus only to be killed from the 250lb bomb that landed on the maus (The maus lived)

The nerf og Maus resistance against bombs really hurt her. Before Maus could easily tank 250 and 500lb bombs, and even 1000 from a distance. Now any bomb can destroy Maus. I am not sure when this happened, but as an avid Maus enjoyer, the change was too obvious.
Same it feels so incredibly vulnerable to bombs no compared to what it used to be like, dollarplays (a brilliant youtuber) played the is7 and got hit with cas constantly and was fine then tried the maus and got decimated by cas despite having substantially more armour especially on the floor aswell as the roof.
Bruh, 500 lb potato can kill a Maus at that distance? It's not even going to kill a PT-76 in half of the cases... Meanwhile, Obj. 279 can carry a dozen of 1000 lb bombs and explode them like firecrackers
I noticed when you were giving an introduction to all the Wunderwaffen that you forgot the greatest German vehicle of them all, the Canberra B Mk 6 with a thermonuclear device (ignore the British sounding name its merely to confuse the Allies)
How tf did you run out of ammo for the 75mm? I'm basically a Maus main for years and I take 40 HEAT and 31 smoke. It's all stored low in the hull. The enemy cannot shoot you while repairing if the entire battlefield is smoke and I have WAY more kills with the 75mm than the 128mm and it's very useful for tracking quick tanks attempting to get around your side while you are reloading the 128, even if you cannot kill them with it.
The 75mm is a lot easier to aim if you get the custom gunsights for the Maus too. It accounts for the offset as well so it's easier to aim at close range.
In recent times I've been really split on the maus. I mainly play arcade (ew ik) and I pretty much only play the maus, have since like 2020. The maus being 8.0 in arcade feel vial to me. It gets pulled into the 8.3-8.7 games a lot and that's quite the pain. Though down tiers are also super nasty with me easily getting 7~ kills. Just got a nuke with it the other day. In conclusion: I love the maus
5 CAS attempts to kill the moving bunker, only two shown to kill it. 2 of those that didn't kill get a kill did disable the Maus in some way. At least you didn't get carpet bombed, becuse if one bomb won't kill a Maus then the other two that land next to it might.
There are a few more games where I only got one or two kills before being bombed but didn't include the video as the gameplay was a tad boring. There was even one game where I used a Maus as a backup and got hit by a 4,000lb bomb the 1st death and 2nd time in a back up. 🤣
Something that always puzzles me as an outsider looking in: so players dont want cas in their ground battles/GRB, cause they wanna play their tanks in their plane turned tank game, but if you remove cas from grb, then you'd have to remove the AA/Flak vehicles cause they'd serveno purpose. Turn it over to Air battles, and you have players who dont want bombers (a bit of hyperbole but its to make my point )in cause they just rush the airfields and games and quickly cause they wanna dogfight. So we have AA, CAS, and bombers all left/taken out. So what would even become of them, they get taken out of the game entirely? Thrown in a hodgepodge gamemode together. would that even be fun? Just kinda seems like removing a whole part of gameplay/ category of vehicles tbh. Could entirely be that i dont understand because i dont play. Just a little rant/inquiry.
Why would you expect the Maus to be anything but a CAS magnet when you can't really pen it with anything?... Also, it's the size of Texas and slow as hell.
@@alexturnbackthearmy1907 Not in a downier bozo. That's why they removed it, it doesn't fit in anywhere. It either crushes ground vehicles and therefore gets bombed in downtiers or it gets uptiered and murdered by HEAT and sabot.

You know something of "el pibe"?
Man, who is that handsome fellow at 9:42, he really has good taste in decals.
Youre smart, see, theyre gonna be looking for army guys
Is it a custom decal? I want one too lol
do you have to be linked to DMM to get those decals brother?
You're a beauty bud
probably some nerd...

You see, you missed one crucial detail. With German engineering, there’s no such thing as overkill

Surprized the maus survived, it has been nerfed alot and dies to the smallest of bombs, russian tanks survive more bombs than the maus

It threw me off guard so hard. I thought for a second that I had it play on another tab. I got a whiplash when I realised it was on the video...
3:23 Iron is so weak-spot pilled he shoots the lower plate of an AMX-50 120, even tho the turret face has 70mm of armor

Gaijin: we remove maus cause we can t balance it.
4000lb Bomb: *"Explosion"*
Maus is nerfed such that it cant survive 100lb bombs, i miss the old maus were it survives bombs as it should
Yeah, I mean tanks shouldn’t survive bombs really but I’d much rather that than further the funky CAS antics lol
“Payout of 35k GE” excuse me sir, i choked on my drink when you said that.
The Maus probably has a single speed gearbox between the Electric Motor and the Sprocket.

Funny enough the 279 has much less roof armour it has like only 20 mm above the breach if I remember correctly.
HAYASTAAAAN !!!!!
Nice channel name bro, long live Hayastan!
Dunno what gaijins made with Maus but it explodes from pathetic 500 pounder from 20 meters away. It is so weak to bombs now compared to old version.

So Maus is just the average Spooksten experience?
Anyone gonna talk about that bs overpressure at 8:00?

This is one of the many reasons why suoerheavy tanks aren't a great idea IRL!
I call the maus HESH food
Why does the mouse have a better reverse gear than modern Russian mbts
I touch on it later in the video. It's becuase of the electric engine. The Maus has the same speed forward as backwards.
Gunna be honest… I’ve killed a lot more of these things than have been killed
They're very easy to deal with. The players in this video are pretty much just clueless lol

@theproceedings4050 the first vehicle that shot him with an atgm was a 6.7, plenty of tanks at 6.7 have over 200mm pen
