My (shortened) theory is this: For Honor is a high-skill fighter game like no other. Due to the fact it’s a fighter at heart, people take it very personally whenever they lose. The high-skill ceiling only worsens the effects when people are killed by players who are OBJECTIVELY better than they are. In order to cope with their lack of skill and broken ego, they lash out and blame other players for their own shortcomings.
Its a male majority player base. Anywhere there’s competition and testosterone there’s gonna be trash talk and toxicity. I just stay cool and try to learn from the losses. No reaction to the toxic people pisses them off worse than anything you could say
