Yeah but warmonger uses another type of sword The Flamberge Longsword (maybe im wrong with the name) basically it’s different because it’s longer than the warden’s sword, apart from the fact that it has that wavy design Of course in the game it works exactly the same but it is still a different weapon In the case of a spear, well, a spear is always going to be a spear, there is not much variation between those weapons
@@IUseScripts a Flamberge is more a esthetic than a actual stand alone sword the sword warmonger actually has is a zweihander it is supposed to be longer than a average human sadly they gave her one that is the exact same size as wardens which in my opinion sucks and feels like false advertising saying she has a "zweihander" when they just gave her a curvy longsword
What about Spartan warriors that have a weapon swap mechanic similar to Medjay but still unique in his own way? Using a shield yes, but swapping Main-Hand weapons. A spear, and sword. Sword stance for counter attacking, and spear mostly defense, and teamfights. Another would be an Iroquois Warrior. Gunstock Warclub. A kit similar to Afeera, different directional attacks, with different properties, chain finishers, but only chain enders, not after bashes, never again. The Gunstock Warclub is a blunt weapon with a blade on the rear side, while the rest is blunt. Enhanced lights as openers, and the chain enders be as follows- Left side, the blade pins, with a bit of bleed damage, right side stuns, doing stamina damage, but no stamina pause, once again, never again, both sides are unblockable, although unsafe to light attacks, but to compensate top heavies deal more damage, and are uninterruptable, but unsafe against dodge attacks/bashes/shi-fu stance, to boot, with not so desirable hit boxes, but great hit box trajectories, to catch cheeky dodges.
the closest we could have to a "musketeer" hero that still fits the game, that is, a hero with a sword with a straight blade and aimed at piercing, I think it would be a Wu Lin with a Jian sword, it would be a character with a more noble bearing and those hanfu robes or tai chi clothes that are more noble and aristocratic than a warrior with armor, and in order not to be "equal" to the centurion as a hero with a one-handed sword, in his other hand he could use a fan that when closed serves as a baton or to block and open to confuse and block the enemy's vision, similar to a bullfighter, with fluid, almost dancing movements
I was thinking a european noble with an estoc and a cape/cloak wrapped around their arm, and they could have some fancy soft feints and a grapple or two. I just really want a character who has a big brimmed hat without having to play musha or yingchin
@@Cheddar_flavored_ramen yeah i thought about this archetype too, but it's too much contemporary, it would look very strange and out of place with the rest of the game as they invade castles and stuff
@@Austin_Meadow idk why, but i feel the same way abt pirate with that. I feel like a spaniard noble would stick out just as much as pirate and ocelotl and might be able to tie in with the outlanders
Tbh I like making them a noble wu lin. Seems a bit close to zahn but I see good potential as an assassin. Maybe some form of offhand weapon or even a open hand like cent. Focused more on precise jabs to daze and offset the enemy where as cent is just all in for power/force with his haymakers.
@@samfish2550 I thought it could also be a character more like a shujinko / Pai Mei / Gen from SF elder type of character, being able to have the Jian sword in one hand and deliver martial arts blows with the other, it would be awesome in the same way and it still wouldn't look out of place in the game
Honestly give us a Zulu warrior with their season based on the British campaign to Zulu country or something I would like is a Teutonic knight with a warhammer
Teutonic Knight would be awesome, I know knights have alot of heroes but thanks to Ubisoft we got wasted slots used like Warmonger and Gryphon. Centurion and Gladiator are great to have in the game but not much in the Knight faction to be honest. And there's a mass amounts of weapons that Ubisoft fails to address that the knights uses, Chivalry 2 solved this issue. There's war hammers, war scythes, morning stars, heavy maces, spears and so on.
As a big fan of the rapier I have to up this out there. With the way that most people present this kind of hero as pirate with a pointy stick instead of a slashy stick I get why you wouldn't want it, and honestly neither would I. However I think that's the wrong approach with the rapier. Personally I think you should make the hero towards the early part of the rapier being used as that's where we get more interesting styles. At least we do in my opinion. If I were to make a rapier hero I would give them a parrying dagger. Specifically the one with the notches on the back to catch the blade(I can't remember its name off the top of my head right now). Then I'd give them two unique mechanics. I'd borrow the trap mechanic from the Wu Lin but make it a little less cool so that it's still there but it doesn't make (I cannot remember her name right now) obsolete. Then I'd add a unique dash mechanic where the hero would have something called say dash. In this the hero would step to the side the dash was performed on then dash back to the original spot with frame advantage. Both of these systems would tie into the heros main flaw being heavy attacks. For example they could light pary any light. But against heavy heroes you would have to use slip dodge(think a new form of the assassins deflect) to avoid the attack. This would make them a slippery dancing character (who would have no undogables in their kit) and would lead to a play style of counter aggression and baiting which I think could be fun. Obviously the character is more complex than most but I play Tekken so y'all can't expect me to be able to make things simple. But that's just my opinion. As for the rest I think you're pretty much spot on Raven(except for the Spartan. I don't want a Spartan)
imagine how cool an African Benin warrior would be with two swords, an Ada sword and an Eben sword, we've never had a hero with a sword in each hand, and the armor would also be incredibly unique
@@abrakadabra6364 Maybe, I don't know which specific people used this weapon, but it's a liberty they could take, it's not like they were always 100% historically correct
Ok, normally I really like your arguments. But saying a rapier wouldnt fit into For Honor because "it would be unrealistic that it could block big weapons like Shugokis club" while we have a guy blocking with a wood paddle with some rocks in it or another guy who literally blocks with his forearms, is just nonsensical...
@@francothebrazilian2764 No one listens to what I say anymore in my videos, so I'm gonna stop bothering to explain my points anymore. I mentioned Shaolin's forearm parries in the video and even said that I don't approve of those either. My suspension of disbelief can only go so far.
As a Persian that the only character i really love is nobushi a Persian warrior would be badass definitely maining him as my second main Iran culture is not very popular for foreigns unfortunately :(
You actually made some valid points that I hadn't really considered when discussing why you didn't want a rapier hero/musketeer. Chief among those was the point that rapiers are really meant more for civilian DUELS, not large-scale battlefields. Also, you and I are of identical opinions when it comes to rapiers as a whole, Raven. I'm fully aware of how deadly a weapon the rapier is, but I'm just not a fan of it.
what I want: 1. I noticed a complete lack of a full length dedicated SPEAR user(not polearms or short spears, specifically long spears), and Wu Lin needs another class, let's have a Wu Lin spear user, and since Song Dynasty influenced class is not yet included in the Wu Lin, we should include a Song Dynasty spear warrior, which, which exist in the form of the "Iron Pagoda". 2. Rajput and Zulu YES 3. an "Hashshashin" themed hero(they could even have a crossover "Altair" outfit)
I’d love to see all kinds of warriors from so many different nations. But alas I want a Spartan Hoplite, only because I’m Greek lol. My family is from Sparta & Macedonia, so it’s literally in my blood lmao
Native Alaskan warrior with sinew-bound lamellar armor, thick animal furs (more Maddox than Ocelotl), and wielding a Harpoon and Dagger. That's a kind of new Native American warrior I'd like to see added.
Irony to the statement is that valk uses a small shield and short spear while the spartans use a big ass shield and spears spartans uses alot of defense while valks are more offense Also to counter musketeer is that another person mention this is parry dagger also mr raven knight you could change one thing is musket is a feat instead of a move set and the shogoki thing then it should also apply to peacekeeper too but nothing is said Also with bare handed hero could be use like for example brass knuckles like weapons and be use for parrying and defensive fighting thats all i like to say have fun
honestly what i want? a Pikeman for the knights Simple and easy long ranged stab/poke heavies that go straight forward (no more super wide heavy swings that hit your team more then the enemy) 2 handed pike is similar to nubushi but could still be done very different with the heavy animations and make it have a different playstyle instead of like hidden stance its just a brace that counters forward jump attacks as an example like get on a knee lift the pike up and impale whoever jump attacks at you maybe even like afeera forward jump bash? along with warlord, cent, glad etc jump attacks/forward dodge attacks could also counter like running attacks too like lawbringers charge impale and raiders run grab/carry simply by just long stick to brr and hits them first
Ah yes the rapier blocking is crazy, but the shaolin blocking a heavy from raider with his arm-bracelet makes sense. Not a very well thought out argument. I could make the same argument for Shinobi, jormungandr and Shaman too btw.
@@RavenKnightYT well tbf i made the comment when u finished the musketeer section, didn't know u would return to it. But hey, atleast i gave 3 other valid examples.
8:38 while yes historically rapiers were mostly meant for rapier combat my only argument for a style like this is neither were katanas. Shugoki’s is club would also shatter a katana. As well as oceltocial volcanic glass spears would not be effective against pretty much any form of plate honor. I personally would enjoy a fencing esq character and their were a lot of swords that were designed in those times for more strew rather then just a this rapier
It's also pretty hypocritical of him to say he wants a Rajput using a Katar when that also wouldn't be a weapon capable of going against a Kanabo wielded by Shugoki.
I feel that a Spartan hero should definitely be shield-centric given how much Spartan culture is defined by the hoplon and phalynx. However, I am not sure how Ubi can make it work without turning them into an annoying fullblock hero like VG or Kyoshin.
"musketeers rapier would snap like a twig when shigoki fights him" *looks at peacekeeper, shinobi, centurion, shaman, noboshi, glad* anyway i agree that gun musketeer would be boring and annoying but i think if executed right could be better than pirate, hell i even think musketeers with just the rapier is fine and doesnt even need the gun
While the points you made against a 'unarmed' fighter are excellent and valid, id still like to see a Pugilist character, they could be an assassin class to focus their defense on dodging, and their weapons could be the caestus or the indian sword gauntlet, or other such similar things depending on the cultural background they give them.
Instead of a bare handed warrior we could have "scavenger warrior" Every death he gets a new weapon and adopts the moveset of said weapon Basically "random hero every death" could be a fun, funny pick for someone who has mastered every hero and wants to mix it up. As for the musketeer, perhaps someone who uses a sabre and a cloak. Instead of the blocks and parries looking the exact same, he could use the cloak to catch the weapon arm (on a parry) and on block feint with the cloak to hide him backstepping away from the weapon. This is admittingly a LOT of work and probably not at all viable for how the game works but as with your Spartan problem, we are running out of weapons that have an already existing archetype.
@@dr.calibrations7984 Several problems with the Scavenger hero idea: 1.) Whats the point of making a new hero if they only steal the skill of other heroes? It's LITERALLY copying movements, which everyone hates, and takes away individuality 2.) What if you have a full enemy team of Scavengers? Who do you steal from? 3.) If your whole play style is built around stealing weapons and using their skills, what's even the point of the empty handed moveset? Why bother? 4.) Once you steal a weapon, your bare handed moveset goes away...so it's not really a bare handed hero anymore...and the whole point is lost. 5.) This concept wouldnt work for duels, only 4s
@RavenKnightYT It's not a bare handed hero ever not really anyways. If you ever played/seen Soul Caliber gameplay think Edgemaster (which has taken on a completely different meaning in modern day) where every round he gets a new weapon win or lose he gets a different moveset. To elaborate, in Dominion, if you pick Warden and die 100 times, you respawn as Warden. If you pick scavenger, you could start as Warden, die, and now you have Shaolin, same character model but you have the staff amd moveset. In duels, each round is a new weapon Every round has a new completely random weapon and every death foes as well. Yes this is a reused moveset and people might complain, but for people that have been playing since day 1, a constantly rotating moveset might be fun as said player would have to adapt. It's certainly not for a casual player. A 4v4 all scavenger would probably go through the whole casts worth of weapons multiple times by the end of the match, scavenger might not have been the best name, but I am spitballing. It's not necessarily a "different barehand" or side grade to the idea but a different idea entirely. I have thoughts about an entire design and theme around this guy and I think of more ideas as I go. I'll try and get back to this later when my thoughts are collected. TLDR; yes reused movests, mainly for pros, more "fun" than competitive. Among other ideas
But wait then you gotta change your playstyle based on what luck? You also gotta think in a gameplay sense here also man and also didn't we kinda get that with sohei?
@getsum13YT yes, effectively luck. It's entirely for players who have mastered every hero. A "flex" character. It's an archetype that has existed in fighting games since, at the minimum 2008 with the character in Soul Caliber 4. Wasn't a fgp before then but the class existed.
Very much agree with the list for the most part. I think the maori could be a heroskin for oce and releases along side with an emote fitting to the dance. I do disagree on the musketeer hero tho. First off, the gun aspect should be feats only. Regarding the encounters between a rapier and a heavier weapon, they could replace the parry / block animations with different form of dodges (just the animation). Like when they block an attack, they instead do a little step backwards or when they parry, they play an animation that’s more similar to a deflect (light parries could still happen with the rapier) An actual dodge could look like nobus heavy dodge attack where she does a big sidestep. All of this would also resemble the flow of fencing. In terms of the armor sets, they could get a little bit of playroom and maybe adopt armor that fits their time period even if it’s not necessary worn by musketeers. Pirate has a variety of armor sets too that look very much different.
It dosent matter how well trained in martial arts you are , punching lawbringers armour will turn your fist to dust. It would be like that scene in Deadpool
As you mentionned, biggest hurdle is that this stage, it's hard to not have weapon overlap and still have a unique enough playstyle. Looking at things like a Spartan or Zulu warrior, all I can imagine is "Valkyrie's reach with Black Prior shield's mechanics", and all of a sudden I'm not that hyped about it (would have been more hyped about Zulu if we didn't get Medjay and Ocelotl, as I think they both take a lot of what could make Zulu unique). Which is why I'm really excited to see what they imagined for the Mongolian warrior. First because the nomadic empires of Asia are really interesting, and also because I'm really curious to see what weapons they will get. My guess is that they will have some Bow based feats (seems like a no-brainer), and I would imagine a main weapon (probably a curved sword or an axe) in one hand, and a "support weapon" in the other like a knife or maybe a whip. In any case, something that they can equip or sheathe easily to grab their bow as fast as they can (sine historically bows were definitely their main weapon). As to what warriors (and thus weapons) I would like to see, something akin to a Katar would definitely be cool, and a warrior with a whip (at least as a support weapon) would be pretty unique I reckon, to use it to disable an opponent temporarily for example.
I too would want an entirely new faction inspired by the Indian subcontinent, hell the only places (using this term vaguely) I know that have a diverse range of weapons and armour are Europe, China, Japan, and the aforementioned one, cuz everyone out there is using using just using spears while the ones I just mentioned popped out entire armoury's worth of polearm varieties, hell I'm surprised they managed to drag the Vikings out for so long. Also, I don't have much creativity myself, but I think you could give them fictional but believable armour pieces, unlike the ones we have since the start of this game that aren't just practical to wear irl.
I agree with your thought process of the heros you don't want and here's y Musketeer- we got peacekeeper at home Maui warrior- ocolotl can be made to look like them Bare handed hero- ok do me a favor block a baseball bat swinging at you with nothing but your hands that come talk to me
My hero list: 1) Roman Shield 2) Muslim hero. However, this needs to be handled carefully given today's sensitivity. 3) Indian hero - like the chakram mentioned in the video and the execution that's already in the game. 4) Persian Sword - with a single sword & shield option and a dual wield option. 5) Whip Sword - switch between sword mode and whip mode. It is fantasy but it would be really cool. 6) Chain Whip - like Castlevania with a longer range than a Whip Sword. Another fantasy weapon. 7) Spartan hero (of course)
I want to see a warrior with a whip. Some whips were used in combat more or less for fear like the ballistas. Ballistas in the real world used to suck ass and when they worked, it just scared everyone around. They very rarely got kills though. A whip that can immobilize dodging enemies, have range for fighting nobushis, and maybe disarm an enemy for a free light attack. Wind ups would be necessary for balancing and of course the damage would come from the secondary weapon. Usually a knife or hook were used along whips. The hilt of the whip could maybe do damage similar to Highlander, but obviously not as fast as his
seeing some warrior from the mandinka culture would be cool (from what I've heard they were known for fielding excellent cavalry troops for the mali empire and were really good at using hit and run tactics with javelins).
As a romanian I would love to see a dacian hero, using the falx as a weapon, not much known about our ancestors but we do know they were consitered the bravest and most honorable amongst the thracian tribes and they did hold up a good fight when the romans came knocking
I understand why you don't want a Musketeer hero. The reason I want it is that the armor style would be go variety hats you could get big round brim hats with feathers, tall hats with small brim. The cock hat aka the tricorn or three corner hat, the big wide cap, the classic morion, ect. To be honest , he would have the most variety, even armor chest and arms. I will understand about the rapier being a twig. If Musketeer was using a musket a little more understandable, I could see them switching weapons rapier to musket. I'm not expecting the hero to be like a pirate and want more of gun heroes. 2 is plenty, especially if it makes sense. Pirate and Musketeer are close to perfect. The only thing we can't expect is what Ubisoft will do. I won't but put Musketeer out of possibility. Cowboy I would raise my eyebrow.
I like to see a hero that is or based off the winged hussars because i like to see how for honor would incorporate them. I'm curious as to what others have to say on the idea and what your thoughts are on the idea aswell.
Maori, Comanche or Cherokee warriors, Zulu warriors from Africa, perhaps an immortal Persian, Greek hoplites, Rajput warriors from India, Mongols. While it is true that native or tribal warriors share similarities in weapons, the game has already added heroes with similar mechanics and/or weapons, such as the warden and warmonger or orochi and kyoshin. The point is that even if there are heroes who represent a type of combat or weapon of universal use, they can be added the aforementioned heroes with their respective differences; Not to mention that they could add more weapons from existing factions. Personally, with the addition of a Maori, I would already have all my favorite warriors and cultures in the game.
I just want a Brythonic Boudicca or Cartimandua themed hero Edit: I think if you wanted a Rapier character without the Musketeer look, well a Border-Reiver character with a dishevelled Bandit look, could fit in Outlanders and Knights I think some form of two handed hammer knight would be something new
Ubi should add a 40 year old American dad with a broken beer bottle as a weapon. The dad strength will be enough to win, the dad bod and dad stomach will block all the attacks if its an unblockable or undodgeable
I think a way to let a rapier character block without it being too ridiculous is a parrying dagger in combination with the rapier blocking, but we already have Peacekeeper doing that sooo
Or yk ppl can just do some research and find out that Rapiers aren't: flexing and bending as much as training blades for HEMA, were ONLY used for Rapier on Rapier combat (it DID see battlefield use and there were battlefield versions of a Rapier), snap like twigs when parried by a bigger weapon, and can't block anything other than another Rapier. But I see a majority of this community is very ignorant and don't know much about the weapons, history, or archetypes of the characters we have in For Honor. A "Duelist" hero armed wtih a Rapier can ABSOLUTELY work in For Honor and NO it wouldn't be out of place either considering Rapiers DID in fact face off against OTHER WEAPONS like the Katana, Spears, Longswords, Messers, Sabres, Polearms, etc. The rapier can absolutely parry something like Shugoki's Kanabo or Lawbringer's Poleaxe in the same way just about any other weapon or sword can. Just look at Sellsword Arts videos on that topic. There's a video where he demonstrates that even something like a Dagger is easily able to parry a Montante. Also the suspension of disbelief argument is not that great either for the exact fact that Shaolin is able to parry shit like the Kanabo and Poleaxe with his fucking arm?! That's less realistic than a Rapierist parrying a Kanabo or Poleaxe.
I can understand not liking the rapier but counter point is the rapier was designed to be the best dueling sword possible by basically making a sword a spear in regards to seeing it as breaking by tanking a shugoki hit i can understand that rapiers don't break easily but i can understand that it looks can be jarring
We have shaolin in the game. I completely understand the point of it being dumb but I personally think there’s something cool about a character who sees weapons as a “weakness” and elects to fight with some guards for blocking and parrying (like shaolin) and just goes to town on people dodging around and displaying mastery over their movements and martial arts. I would like a character that fights with chakram, or bladed whips like takeda from MK or a scythe but a martial artist is honestly my number one pick. If not at least a character that fights with tekko kagi like shredder.
As someone with Rajput heritage, this is my For Honor dream. Even if it isn't a Rajput specifically, any Indian hero would be incredible due to the weapon and armor diversity like the Sikhs/Khalsa empire or the Maratha Confederacy. Weapons like the dand patta, sosun patta, bhuj, katar, haladie, khanda, tabar shishpar, zagnol, etc are all great options.
for the moveset question about the "sameness" of shield and spear, while we do have valk with shield & spear i would say she is the quic side of shield & spear users, we dont exactly have a more hunker down playstyle that use more his shield, and not like the characters we have but in a more pikeman sort of way, poking behind this huge wall of a shield with most of his kit revolving in staying behind his shield.
Excellent video Raven! I had a thought while watching your part about the Moari/Native American Warrior concept. Because every time someone effectively describes Ocelotl when they talk about a Moari/Native American, what if instead of making a whole new warrior, a new armor set was made for Ocelotl in style of a Moari or Native American? Heck, two new sets could be made, one for the Moari and one for the Native American. Not only would that be an approach for including a Moari/Native American in the game, it would also fix the problem of reskinned armor sets by introducing something new for Ocelotl. In addition, the dance that everyone is talking about for the Moari/Native American? A perfect new free roam emote for Ocelotl. This would give Ocelotl new stuff for customization options and introduce different aesthetics without having to create a new hero. Just my thoughts, but would love to hear what you have to say about it. Hope you have a great day!
I really want a scythe hero. If you find this unrealistic bare in mind Nobushi uses a gardening tool as a weapon. I maybe can see a rapier hero getting the Jorm treatment and hitokiri treatment. By that i mean changing the weapon design so it isn't realistic but still works. Maybe a rapier with a thicker blade rather than a Point. Maybe with a parry dagger too. A whip or Cat O nine tails would be interesting but I'm not sure too much on that. It is possible though since we have Conq Mime themed Hero would be interesting too. Historically accurate? No but neither is Jorm
There were some indigenous societies of the americas that actually wore armor either made of wood or actual metal and they also had different weapons that were made of metal also like for example the Inca warriors had some metal armor and used metal weapons I think; another thing is that the Mexica warriors wore cotton armor in their upper ranks and weren’t dumb enough to just go to battle without protection
Raven, I don't see a way to make a Spartan hero. They used the spear and Shield combo, and making it different from Valk can be challenging, but I do have a few ideas. Firstly an all-guard goes without saying the movie 300 practically makes that a necessary thing, however, what if he could do the famous spart kick from it? Granting a wall splat or a free light. His starter heavys let make the swing wide like walks but then his second let's just say unblockable could pin and have more of a thrusting motion to it. Valk is a Hybrid of a Vanguard and Assassin, lets make the spartan a heavy vanguard hybrid. Idk anyone else have ideas?
Honestly for a wu Lin that could be interesting could be a meteor hammer or a Chinese chain hammer/whip thing that could be a hybrid for the whip and an assassin for the meteor hammer. I think that would be neat. Jsut with the issue of how is the meteor hammer going to be different from shinobi and chain whip thing being different from nuxia
I actually think the Zulu and the Indian warriors could definitely be added to the game but the Maori, though I think would not be lore accurate because I do have a sneaking suspicion that the shogoki or at least the first ones were actually Polynesian warrior groups who joined the samurai in their exodus to the Myre likely because they were under similar conditions.
Saying it wouldn't make logical sense for an unarmed hero is wild, especially when we have Raider wearing no armor to protect their chest and abdomen, other heroes not wearing helmets to battle, swords and even blunt objects going through full plate like it's soft butter, weapons blades being so thick that they shouldn't be able to slice anything yet they still slice, Pirate having infinite ammo in her pistol, Tiandi and Black Prior both using blood magic, the entire Wu Lin having some type of mysticism to them, Hito using souls to protect themselves, and forget about Shaolin being able to parry with just an arm, Warmonger can just stab though someone with her hand just because she's got pointy fingers. We're pretty beyond from making sense in this game. Really, the only reason I see the devs not making an unarmed hero is because every hero has 6 gears to customize with; 3 armor pieces and 3 weapon pieces. If there's no weapon to customize, what do you customize then?
I think with the spartan you’d HAVE to make him have stance changes to pull out his different weapons, otherwise like you said he’s been covered by other heroes
Aside from the 3 you listed as most wanted I'd love to see •Dacian warrior with a Falx •A Thracian with a Sica & Scutum •An Arabian or Cossack with a Saber Honorable mention for an African with A Khopesh or even two.
giving us a character with a duelling shield (yes that's am actual thing, not just some something the Elden ring dev's made out of boredom). Most cursed knight character in the whole game for sure.
The way i see a bare handed working is by using cestus personally i would like to see them as a assassin knight wearing minimal armor just a helmet to hide their face and some trousers this person has no self-preservation it's not about living to them it's about having the greatest fight of their life and they choose to do it with their knuckles i don't know maybe it is stupid but i think I'd be pretty bad ass
Honestly, i am a big fan of ancient Rome and Greece, so i would love a Spartan, but the Mongolian hero is just as awesome. Like, she could have ties to Chinggis Khan!
Regarding the two heroes you’d want: I absolutely agree with those! There’s lots of weapons and unique ideas that could be used with all of the Indian or African weaponry. In regards to the Spartan Hero, I absolutely agree with your take, a spartan is overrated and you hear too much about it. I will say this, however, I feel they could pull it off in certain ways, IF they are creative. 1. They could make him use a sword AND a spear with a shield, like a realistic spartan. Historically, the Kopis was an ideal sidearm for the Spartans in their phalanx, and that could be shown in their moveset, where using a sword, maybe the lights are slower but do more damage, more continued chains maybe, and perhaps faster but less damaging heavies. The spear strikes could have some fast lights and pinning heavies, but the chains are shorter, like he has to charge the heavy attack, and then BOOM! Done. Nothing more after that. 2. The Spartans would have the largest shield out of any hero in the game, especially since Warlord’s is scaled down. Perhaps that could be a double-down gimmick. He could perhaps be in all guard infinitely, able to attack with lights from all guard, and if anybody does a charge forward attack of any kind, he’ll do sort of a Bulwark counter but instead just skewer you. The caveat with such a guard is that he is completely susceptible to any form of side dodge attack, as a way of his shield being more cumbersome than others. That way, it may make them not such turtles like they were in real life😂 In regards to the Shouldn’t have’s: I 100% agree with you here, but I do also have a comment on the musketeer idea. I will say this: WE DO NOT NEED ANY SORT OF RAPIER HERO. Peacekeeper already has a Parrying dagger and arming sword, that, if you look at lots of her animations, is very Rapier-esque! What people should be arguing about is to have Ubisoft just give her a rapier as one design! Buuuut, if hypothetically, you’d still want a hero of that piece, you could do a musketeer or Spaniard of sorts, but give them a Sabre! Nobody save for maybe Tiandi and maybe Kyoshin uses a Sabre-like weapon, we’ll see with the Mongolian hero, but as of now, we do not. Even though you also didn’t want any more guns in for honor, and I mostly agree with you, I do feel like a musket and Sabre combo would work. The only thing is, a musketeer might be too jarring, a pirate gets a pass because she looks sloppy anyway. But this paves the way for another great Hero idea: the Janissary, the one of the first gunpowder weapon using infantry units. My idea is that the Janissary could use a scimitar or yatagan of some kind with an archaic firearm, and(almost) be a reversal of Sohei. The Janissary could use his rifle from long range to deal 40-50 damage perhaps, but the issue is that he can only use it once, and if it’s dodged, nothing to do about it. This’ll make somebody worry at first when they fight a Janissary, anticipating the shot, and the Janissary will have to find some sort of way to get them shot at, maybe with a wall bash or something. Now, all of my ideas with gameplay are just concepts, I’m not a balancer in any sort of way at all. Just possible moveset ideas. Anyway, last thought of a hero I’d want: Korean Hero with a War Flail. Uncommon and unused weapon, and any knight could also use the European version, but Joseon dynasty armor and clothing is so stylish and unique compared to another knight, so yeah.
Honestly no one can sway me from hoping and praying for a billhook hero. And not the silly English billhook, those awesome, versatile Italian billhooks. Now I know, I know; it's basically just Lawbringer 2.0, but I really think there could be a unique playstyle there. Maybe something that involves a lot more movement and displacement? Maybe they'd have a lot of command grabs and parry reposts, but done in a way that isn't annoying to fight. I really think a billhook hero could bring a lot of personality, especially if the moveset was a little more fantastical. But I doubt it'll ever happen because of how similar that'd be to Lawbringer sadly, since I doubt they'd come up with a bunch of new mechanics or gameplay for just one hero.
I'm not sure if this will be seen but I would like a knight with a broad sword that's a counter attacker, it would be a mixture of centurion and Peacekeeper.
Just opinions on your list 1. Jian and qiang are musts when it comes to to new heros and weopons for the wulin 2. Rajput would be cool theres a lot to work with no complaints there 3. Depending on what part of africa your talking about would determine the warriors and weapons, west would be benin w/ umozo & shield or a eben & ada sword, south would be zulu for sure but a club & shield instead of spear & shield, north could be a scimitar or takouba and could check off a muslim warrior at the same time. I like the elephant armor idea 4. Spartan warrior is definitely a big player request and we’ll probably get it as a unique hero or at the very least a a skin for valk or cent my thing with that is we need another warrior from antiquity to match, personally i choose an immortal with a sword/mace/axe since i assume the spartan will take the spear and shield. In regard to the musketeer and Polynesian warriors your points are valid and make sense but thats where the creatively and thinking outside the box play in. For example we dont have a dedicated “grappling” style hero in forhonor in my opinion, the Polynesian warrior would fit this position very well their feats could be a some type of buff/debuff w/ the haka, for the weopon it definitely would be something one handed like a sharktooth club. I have some unique ideas for the musketeer/rapier hero but this post is already too long for that. Lastly while raven is right on the bare handed hero if Ubisoft can pull it off or at least get the idea launched off you best believe that’ll be the craziest hero to release in the games history and ill be there day 1
11:27 "And they're cannibalistic" Thats ocelotl too. A cultural soup in Mexico is called Pozole, an aztec dish that to this day is still eaten, albeit with pork meat and not humans.
I think the idea of a zulu hero coming would be cool. As you stated, there's a lot of African tribes and their weapons are untouched. There's a lot that can be done, but we shall wait and see.
Just wondered if you'd feel a bit better about a sabre instead of a rapier. Much sturdier and can slash more effectively making it easier to match the in game indicators. Dont want another gun either so i agree not making a musketeer character. As for the bare handed hero, i agree with you about saying a completely bare handed hero just doesn't make sense. But how about a viking character utilising glima (viking wrestling) along with a seax knife. Focus on grappling and throws for offense and use the opportunity to use the knife as well as defend with said knife. Love your vids mate, keep up the great work 😊
I personaly would Love An Lü bu inspired Hero for the wu lin. He could maby be an Hero who is build around Revenge to represent his Might on the Battlefield. And personaly i Love Him in the Three Kingdoms romance.
One character I’ve wanted for a long time is a Landsknecht hero bc I think they could fit in well and makes sense within their time period. But similarly to the Spartan argument, how would a Landsknecht’s move set be different to warden, warmonger or highlander’s?
Okay I am going to severely shorten what I want to say about the ideas mentioned in your video. Short term I agree with many aspects of your views for what heroes should or shouldn’t make it to For Honor. If anyone wants me to elaborate more or even if you want me to Raven I will. Firstly I will admit I do not have a lot of sense of cultures outside of what I am currently familiar with already, especially when it comes to warriors and fighters of those cultures. So keep that in mind as I explain my own opinions and ideas. I will also keep things mostly of the game due to that being a much easier base for me to explain some of my ideas. I’ll also be going through the heros in order that they were mentioned in the video, but not only the ones I have ideas and opinions on. For the Zulu warriors I can definitely see their first three armor sets sharing a similar premise as the Ocelotl. Whereas our Aztec warrior uses the Jaguar, Eagle, and Snake as their main animal hides in armor, the Zulu warriors could easily use the Lion, Elephant, and Vulture as their animal armor sets. I mentioned the vulture as in my opinion it is the most immediate animal alongside lion and elephant I can think of when thinking of the African Savanna. Outside of the crocodile which Medjay already has and dogs such as Hyena. We already have bases of birds being used in armor sets or the symbolism of them in heros like Medjay, Ocelotl, and even Shinobi which is why I mentioned the vulture over the hyena. As for their weapons I sadly do not have many ideas to offer due to the problem of reusing weapon sets and lacking an idea of unique movesets for them. For the Spartan Warrior I do have a couple vague ideas that could be offered for their weapon set. If they did lean into the spear and shield weapon set then here is my pitch for how to make it different to Valkyrie. We have seen with both Gladiator and Centurian that these allies love to pin their enemies. So why not lean into that with their spear. Letting their heavy attacks also pun similar to Centurion or after a parry. The other idea was to make them an all offensive guard hero to the likes of Aramusha and Varangian Guard. This could also be how to facilitate their pins like Varagin. Their moveset could also focus with stabs/ jabs like valyiker for their lights, but for their heavy attack aim for more thrusts with longer reaches or enhanced attacks to help get them continue a set of strings through blocks. I also hate the idea of a Musketeer hero, but for a different reason. With Pirate being our flintlock pistol and cutlass user, if we allowed for a Musketeer hero then that would give way to other such ideas like a hero with a blunderbuss and melee weapon of choice. While yes I would love it, I too agree it should be avoided. As for the idea of armor variations likely to look similar, yes that could also be a problem. My only suggestion on this as far as how they could handle it is sadly only with their head piece. They could take inspiration from works like Mask of Zorro or V for Vendetta where one the main piece either has a hat or specific long hair style and the alternative dawns some mask. Either Zorro’s similar eye covering one or V’s full face covering mask. The idea of the alternative sets getting the mask is similar to how Gryphon in his early armor sets is either maskless or has one. For Maori warriors I believe one aspect that could be leaned into to help make their armor more distinctive than the Ocelotl is the idea of more aquatic or floral implants into their armor. Sea shell necklaces or ones of different flowers could be a help distinguish them differently than anyone else as it wouldn’t be seen on almost any other hero outside of effects. Or shift that idea onto their weapons to keep their whole idea with furs for armor. And easily take their own three animals of choice to help sell themselves in a similar fashion to the Ocelotl since I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs did something similar to that for them. You also could incorporate their dances within feats or executions as I don’t see it being a part of their fighting styles given how strings likely wouldn’t flow that well between their dances. The main reason I wouldn’t want a bare handed hero is two fold. Firstly the devs have already told us how they begin with creating a hero and that is their weapons first. Whilst yes the idea of the one hero being barehanded would make them unique in a cast of heros with their own signature weapon, how gear works mechanically wouldn’t fit them unless they added wrist, shin, and leg armor specifically for them to replace the three weapon pieces just for them. The second reason is due to other weapons potentially not being added in due to how similar their fighting styles would be to a barehanded hero. We have seen with the Wu Lin faction and how characters with material discipline utilize it with their weapon fighting styles. Usually found in the form of bashes or grabs. Examples of weapons that would possibly get rejected due to the addition of a barehanded hero would include weapons like Sais, Tonfas, and even the Kater Push Dagger(s). These weapons could work as either entrapping weapons like Nuxia and have duelist fighting styles to them as well whilst using parries to lean into lights or bashes. Aspects that may never be touched upon if we just had someone who just throws hands. This didn’t turn out to be as short as I wanted this to be, but hopefully gives enough to show how much this single conversation could lead into ideas of how and why these warriors would or wouldn’t work if added to for honor. As well as their own work around and complications of their additions . Hopefully things are clear enough from my less experienced mind set of weapons and cultures.
I see an idea for the spartan what if the spear is throwable without feats but you throw your spear you get a one handed sword like prior but you on duel you can use it once every 1 to 2 minutes but the one handed sword does half the damage as for doms it’s a feat but duels or brawls is more a choice of are you willing to sacrifice that spear for a big damage once or keep it for a longer fight as needed
I have a crackpot theory to justify a rapier hero going against smth like shugo's kanabo or literally any other weapon on the FH roster: what if the rapier hero could not parry, but could deflect ANY attack (apart from, like, bashes ofc) That sounds cool to me, but would also probably require smth like a 312 GB code update to FH's system. At least it's somewhat new Or we could just put the idea of "can't parry but can deflect anything" onto a different hero
the rajput are a desire, but knowing mideval combat... we could easily remix the european weapon mixes for new styles. a heavy shield with one handed hammer, or a russian warrior with a spiked shield
I genuinely want to see a North American natives (I can’t remember their name) as a hero. No one really talks about how unique the weapon choice could be, or even about the possibility of them being a possibility, which is a shame.
honestly i want all those heroes, as long as i don't see american running around with an m1 garand or driving a tank
Next april fools they should make a fake new hero trailer of a grenade wielding american hero

Valk already having a spear and shield isn't a problem for ubisoft, warden already had a longsword and ubi still added warmonger
And warmonger is basically another warden
Yeah but warmonger uses another type of sword
The Flamberge Longsword (maybe im wrong with the name) basically it’s different because it’s longer than the warden’s sword, apart from the fact that it has that wavy design
Of course in the game it works exactly the same but it is still a different weapon
In the case of a spear, well, a spear is always going to be a spear, there is not much variation between those weapons
Enhanced lights as openers, and the chain enders be as follows-
Left side, the blade pins, with a bit of bleed damage, right side stuns, doing stamina damage, but no stamina pause, once again, never again, both sides are unblockable, although unsafe to light attacks, but to compensate top heavies deal more damage, and are uninterruptable, but unsafe against dodge attacks/bashes/shi-fu stance, to boot, with not so desirable hit boxes, but great hit box trajectories, to catch cheeky dodges.
the closest we could have to a "musketeer" hero that still fits the game, that is, a hero with a sword with a straight blade and aimed at piercing, I think it would be a Wu Lin with a Jian sword, it would be a character with a more noble bearing and those hanfu robes or tai chi clothes that are more noble and aristocratic than a warrior with armor, and in order not to be "equal" to the centurion as a hero with a one-handed sword, in his other hand he could use a fan that when closed serves as a baton or to block and open to confuse and block the enemy's vision, similar to a bullfighter, with fluid, almost dancing movements
The Persian Immortal would be awesome.
Just take a look at for honor fanarts
They look so cool
Honestly give us a Zulu warrior with their season based on the British campaign to Zulu country or something I would like is a Teutonic knight with a warhammer
Teutonic Knight would go hard
@@duckiedale6550 i vibe with it but i'm here for the rapier drip

You actually made some valid points that I hadn't really considered when discussing why you didn't want a rapier hero/musketeer. Chief among those was the point that rapiers are really meant more for civilian DUELS, not large-scale battlefields. Also, you and I are of identical opinions when it comes to rapiers as a whole, Raven. I'm fully aware of how deadly a weapon the rapier is, but I'm just not a fan of it.
I've been desiring a Mongolian warrior since the outlander fashion launched. I'm just overall happy that we are finally getting one
what I want:
2. Rajput and Zulu YES
3. an "Hashshashin" themed hero(they could even have a crossover "Altair" outfit)
I’d love to see all kinds of warriors from so many different nations. But alas I want a Spartan Hoplite, only because I’m Greek lol. My family is from Sparta & Macedonia, so it’s literally in my blood lmao
THIS. IS. SPARTA!
@ Bahahahaha
Native Alaskan warrior with sinew-bound lamellar armor, thick animal furs (more Maddox than Ocelotl), and wielding a Harpoon and Dagger.
That's a kind of new Native American warrior I'd like to see added.
Irony to the statement is that valk uses a small shield and short spear while the spartans use a big ass shield and spears spartans uses alot of defense while valks are more offense
Also to counter musketeer is that another person mention this is parry dagger also mr raven knight you could change one thing is musket is a feat instead of a move set and the shogoki thing then it should also apply to peacekeeper too but nothing is said
Also with bare handed hero could be use like for example brass knuckles like weapons and be use for parrying and defensive fighting thats all i like to say have fun
honestly what i want? a Pikeman for the knights
Simple and easy long ranged stab/poke heavies that go straight forward (no more super wide heavy swings that hit your team more then the enemy)
2 handed pike is similar to nubushi but could still be done very different with the heavy animations and make it have a different playstyle
instead of like hidden stance its just a brace that counters forward jump attacks as an example like get on a knee lift the pike up and impale whoever jump attacks at you maybe even like afeera forward jump bash? along with warlord, cent, glad etc jump attacks/forward dodge attacks could also counter like running attacks too like lawbringers charge impale and raiders run grab/carry simply by just long stick to brr and hits them first
Landsknecht! Fancy, flamboyant, puffy fuckloud of weapons and clouthing, its no brainer

They could. I don't think it will be pirate levels.
While the points you made against a 'unarmed' fighter are excellent and valid, id still like to see a Pugilist character, they could be an assassin class to focus their defense on dodging, and their weapons could be the caestus or the indian sword gauntlet, or other such similar things depending on the cultural background they give them.
Instead of a bare handed warrior we could have "scavenger warrior"
Every death he gets a new weapon and adopts the moveset of said weapon
Basically "random hero every death" could be a fun, funny pick for someone who has mastered every hero and wants to mix it up.
@@dr.calibrations7984 Several problems with the Scavenger hero idea:
1.) Whats the point of making a new hero if they only steal the skill of other heroes? It's LITERALLY copying movements, which everyone hates, and takes away individuality
2.) What if you have a full enemy team of Scavengers? Who do you steal from?
3.) If your whole play style is built around stealing weapons and using their skills, what's even the point of the empty handed moveset? Why bother?
4.) Once you steal a weapon, your bare handed moveset goes away...so it's not really a bare handed hero anymore...and the whole point is lost.
5.) This concept wouldnt work for duels, only 4s
@RavenKnightYT
It's not a bare handed hero ever not really anyways.
In duels, each round is a new weapon
Every round has a new completely random weapon and every death foes as well.
@dr.calibrations7984 if you wanna flex play nobushi or lawbringer
We already technically have a bare handed hero with cent half his moveset is punching soo definitely not needed
Nailed it with Rajput right away, that's my #1 choice. I'd love to see one with either dual katar, or wield a khanda main hand with a katar off-hand
Like when they block an attack, they instead do a little step backwards or when they parry, they play an animation that’s more similar to a deflect (light parries could still happen with the rapier)
An actual dodge could look like nobus heavy dodge attack where she does a big sidestep.
Would be pretty badass if there was a full plated knight that wielded a huge claymore like the highlander
I agree with your thought process of the heros you don't want and here's y
Musketeer- we got peacekeeper at home
Maui warrior- ocolotl can be made to look like them
Bare handed hero- ok do me a favor block a baseball bat swinging at you with nothing but your hands that come talk to me
Shaolin says hi 😅
But pk is boring and musketeers is not the move so instead can we do a knight with a spear and sheild or estoc
If Spartan was made, the only way I could see them being unique is making them a Spear/Xiphos switch up with a shield.
I think a druid/irish character who uses a shilleleagh would be really cool. That or a pleague doctor with a misericorde
My hero list:
1) Roman Shield
2) Muslim hero.
Whip sword would be dope
Honestly I wouldn’t mind a swashbuckler, but instead of carrying a pistol, they dual wielding swords.
The hilt of the whip could maybe do damage similar to Highlander, but obviously not as fast as his
A Lion or Tiger emote like the Beligerent Alpha wolf has been on my wishlist for my Glad for a while now.
seeing some warrior from the mandinka culture would be cool (from what I've heard they were known for fielding excellent cavalry troops for the mali empire and were really good at using hit and run tactics with javelins).
As a romanian I would love to see a dacian hero, using the falx as a weapon, not much known about our ancestors but we do know they were consitered the bravest and most honorable amongst the thracian tribes and they did hold up a good fight when the romans came knocking
I want a musketeer hero
But not with a rapier
With a musket
@@Hk-ox4bb why not both
Musket with a bayonet attached
The point is that even if there are heroes who represent a type of combat or weapon of universal use, they can be added
the aforementioned heroes with their respective differences; Not to mention that they could add more weapons from existing factions. Personally, with the addition of a Maori, I would already have all my favorite warriors and cultures in the game.
I just want a Brythonic Boudicca or Cartimandua themed hero
Edit: I think if you wanted a Rapier character without the Musketeer look, well a Border-Reiver character with a dishevelled Bandit look, could fit in Outlanders and Knights
I think some form of two handed hammer knight would be something new
Ubi should add a 40 year old American dad with a broken beer bottle as a weapon. The dad strength will be enough to win, the dad bod and dad stomach will block all the attacks if its an unblockable or undodgeable
Massive screen shaking power house Samoan warrior. Give us that
I think a way to let a rapier character block without it being too ridiculous is a parrying dagger in combination with the rapier blocking, but we already have Peacekeeper doing that sooo
Actually for bare-handed, a lot of times in knight fights they would ditch their weapons because their fists just did more damage
Great video Raven and I agree on what new heroes you want and don't want.
I have never heard of Rajput warriors before but I would love to see this as a faction or a couple heroes 😮
for the moveset question about the "sameness" of shield and spear, while we do have valk with shield & spear i would say she is the quic side of shield & spear users, we dont exactly have a more hunker down playstyle that use more his shield, and not like the characters we have but in a more pikeman sort of way, poking behind this huge wall of a shield with most of his kit revolving in staying behind his shield.
I’m sure we’ll all be happy with vg but with a spear
It is possible though since we have Conq
Mime themed Hero would be interesting too.
I honestly want to see a Pacific Islander with a jade club and shark tooth club
my kingdom for a janissary.
I always pictured an unarmed hero to have gauntlets with claws or something to that extent
I think with the spartan you’d HAVE to make him have stance changes to pull out his different weapons, otherwise like you said he’s been covered by other heroes
Aside from the 3 you listed as most wanted I'd love to see
•Dacian warrior with a Falx
•A Thracian with a Sica & Scutum
•An Arabian or Cossack with a Saber
Honorable mention for an African with A Khopesh or even two.
Musketeer, if the devs were so inclined, could honestly be a PK or Pirate skin
An idea I’ve had is giving a hero skin to Valkyrie that’s a spartan but it’s fully customizable
giving us a character with a duelling shield (yes that's am actual thing, not just some something the Elden ring dev's made out of boredom).
I’m honestly just waiting for Stigandr as a warlord skin
Honestly, i am a big fan of ancient Rome and Greece, so i would love a Spartan, but the Mongolian hero is just as awesome. Like, she could have ties to Chinggis Khan!
A 16th century knight would be nice, a more royal theme. Not to mention, the drip would be diabolical and its the classic royal knight feel.
That way, it may make them not such turtles like they were in real life😂
In regards to the Shouldn’t have’s: I 100% agree with you here, but I do also have a comment on the musketeer idea.
Female Wu Lin warrior that uses a Jian sword. Make her an assassin class hero and call her Wuxia. That's what I want.
I'm not sure if this will be seen but I would like a knight with a broad sword that's a counter attacker, it would be a mixture of centurion and Peacekeeper.
I changed my mind it would be similar to nixia and centurion
Just opinions on your list
1. Jian and qiang are musts when it comes to to new heros and weopons for the wulin
2. Rajput would be cool theres a lot to work with no complaints there
3. I like the elephant armor idea
Hello
Love your vids mate, keep up the great work 😊
Haven’t watched yet but I think a Spartan would be so awesome they are my favorite historical warriors of all time
@@JC-td1bt ...God damn I called it.
@ 😭I know… u did and I humbly apologize
I think a bear handed hero wouldn't work, it'd be a cool universal though
Id love to see a hero with the sword whip
I see an idea for the spartan what if the spear is throwable without feats but you throw your spear you get a one handed sword like prior but you on duel you can use it once every 1 to 2 minutes but the one handed sword does half the damage as for doms it’s a feat but duels or brawls is more a choice of are you willing to sacrifice that spear for a big damage once or keep it for a longer fight as needed
Could we get a list of weapons that would be cool, to see or not to see added to the other factions
I would love to see a Persian Immortal hero honestly
What about an executioner? Could be really cool and different. Variety in helms and armor
I have a crackpot theory to justify a rapier hero going against smth like shugo's kanabo or literally any other weapon on the FH roster: what if the rapier hero could not parry, but could deflect ANY attack (apart from, like, bashes ofc)
That sounds cool to me, but would also probably require smth like a 312 GB code update to FH's system. At least it's somewhat new
Or we could just put the idea of "can't parry but can deflect anything" onto a different hero
I completely agree. Wu Lin first and foremost! 🐉
I’m still down for them to add Lu bu as a hero for the wu lin
I hobestly think there should be a wu lin fist form much like shaolin, parting and deflecting with bracers
the rajput are a desire, but knowing mideval combat... we could easily remix the european weapon mixes for new styles. a heavy shield with one handed hammer, or a russian warrior with a spiked shield
9:00 *cough* Shaolin blocks shugo with his arms
14:33 *cough* Finish the damned video
@@RavenKnightYT I did, but I prefer to leave comments before that so I don't foget what I wanted to say
I genuinely want to see a North American natives (I can’t remember their name) as a hero. No one really talks about how unique the weapon choice could be, or even about the possibility of them being a possibility, which is a shame.
Or a Hussite (some eastern/Central Europe representation). The fact they used field tools could have cool implications for the stances and feats.
you can't even remember their name...but you chastise the community for not bringing them up more.
....bruh.
@ well, I’m sorry for not having good memory unlike other people.
