Fascinating. The properties and benefits of leather will never cease to amaze me, from what I see. I recently purchased a Togo sofa from Manhattan Home Design and have grown to like its tan leather upholstery more and more. I find its warm and elastic finish very cozy and friendly. The thought of changing it color blows my mind a bit. Thank you for sharing this.
It's not so incredible when you look at the price! $340 for a kit plus an extra bottle of dye. Maybe the polishing rags are a $150 value IDK but that's an insane price for 2 cups of dye smh

You really did an amazing job (stool shows some of the old color when you lifted it), and the best tutorial on TH-cam, so far. Sad, probably an elderly person loved that chair. I'm glad you were able to repurpose it and it looks better than new. That's a very well crafted piece. It would be a shame to let it go to a landfill.
Wow! I am excited! I have just moved and my son was forcing me to throw my Italian leather sofa away because it is discolored and scratched by dog and cats. I couldn't buy this set of a love seat and a large sofa for less than $10,000.00. I will prepare him a surprise and show him that was worthy to carry it twice (out and in). Thank you! Thank you! You made it look so easy. It is a natural light color and I want it more tanned color. Thanks again!😀
Great video. Curious why the back cushion looks less wrinkled after being colored. Does the leather shrink a bit after treatment? I'd actually like it if it did since my seat cushion now has a lot of loose wrinkles.
At the9:28 mark when the ottoman is lifted, the seam widens and the original color can be seen. If you did not fix this for your customer, please let her know that she needs to do so. Nonetheless, I absolutely love the transformation of these two pieces of furniture.
Blue is my favorite color that chair and ottoman looks beautiful I am thinking about doing a faux leather office chair this color I wonder like how long though the color would last before starting to fade
What are the best coloring options for a leather couch that is already pretty dark brown? I would like to change the color, but it's not as light as the example in the video.
Yes the before and after photos with regards to your observations do look peculiar - however we can assure you it is the same chair with the same original studs. The before picture shows a lot of lighting from the rear of the chair (open loading door to outside ) which caused the exposure to darken when taking the picture ( also no flash ). The after picture has full lighting in shop and the camera fired off a flash which highlighted the stud work and wood. Great observation - we even found this to be amazing when scrutinizing the photos - we would have to conclude: The POWER of lighting in photography ! As to the seat cushion, it was not fully inserted into the chair when this photo was taken thus it looks lurched over the end of the chair. Thank you for your comments and for choosing LeatherTouchupDye.com
I have brand new leather chairs that are a light amaretto color, not the color I was expecting. I would like to dye them a rich yellow. Is this possible?
thank you so much for these tutorials we just got a couch, chair, and ottoman from my in laws and it's so comfy but not my style and doesn't fit my living room but now I know how to fix that plus I was worried the buttons would be an issue 😅
If I was going to re-dye some newer leather to a darker burgundy color, would one starting color be better than another? I'm thinking about making a piece of furniture into a color that the manufacturer won't offer.
What other changes were made to the before and after? I ask because it's clearly different studs (or at least sanded), along with a replaced cushion (the end product doesn't lurch over the end of the chair like the before photo) and finally the woodwork is a completely different color. I'll be honest and say I'm intrigued and will try the product. I'll report back after I try it with links to before/after photos and all steps involved.

I have a black leather chair, my husband bought it about 6 mo ago. It was given to me. I want it to be like a dear doe brown color. It it possible to lighten it up?
I’ve watched many of your videos. You do true professional quality work for sure. Keep up the great work! I do have a couple questions regarding a specific color change from black to a camel tan (or lighter color) color. 1) when changing from a black to a much lighter color, do you do anything different besides your procedures to clean/degrease, scuff, dye the leather camel or to a lighter color from black, treat, and let it cure or do you have to apply/prime the leather to a white or light gray color in order for the leather to accept/dye more easily to the camel (lighter) color. 2) If the leather has cracks would you apply the filler and treat all the cracks and scuff prior to changing to the lighter color? Or would you perform the color change first then fill up and touch up the cracks? Any advice will help. Thank you
This is absolutely amazing!! Two questions. How do you remove the nails from the chair before painting? And second - can you only go darker, or can you go lighter as well? We have 2 medium orange colored chairs, I would say something similar to your RUST A or Medium Brown A. I would like to turn them into IVORAY A. Is this possible?

They sell a 24oz dye bottle they say does a sofa, love seat and chair. I would purchase that and an additional 8 oz because a recliner has more surface than a chair.
Yes you can. However, Color changes generally use double the amount of dye as refinishing to the original color. Possibly a bit more because you’re going from a darker to a lighter colour which is called upshading.
You can purchase the paints on amazon for around 14$ and the cleaner you can use is soapy water first and then just use mineral spirits or ispropol alcohol the higher the % the better
$ 489? Our leather dye repair kits start at $ 59.95 for a small and $ 189.00 for a large kit which includes everything you require to clean, refinish and protect the leather. @@gamo2008 Yes you can purchase other leather repair products online however they would provide only $ 14 with of value. Hello our leather sealer provides full and complete protection against soil and wear. This would be the same as the coating applied to brand-new leather. If you apply an oil or wax to the surface as you suggest you would be compromising this protective topcoat. Furthermore the surface would be sticky and attract more dirt in the future. Applying too much conditioner to the surface of leather is a bad thing. You over oil the hides, you gum up the leather finishes and attract more dirt that builds up a patina that eventually cracks open. If you want to do anything to the Leather we would recommend our cleaning and protection kit where you would simply clean the leather once a month at the course of every season you would apply our protective topcoat. This topcoat is not sticky and will not attract dirt.
