  • Reliance water containers are very popular today in the van life/ suv life community. For the longest time we were just using Culligan 5 gallon water containers but they were bulky and didn’t really hold that much water for the space. We spotted the reliance containers on Craigslist and thought it would be a good upgrade for us. So far they have been working great. And by great I mean it holds the water and doesn’t spill or tip over. The only part that needs more thought is well the only part on the hole thing. The spout! It made to screw into I self so the spout can go inside and be flat which it does but they fail to mention that while the spout was out being used all the dust, sand, debris in the air gets stuck to it and when you put it back inside all that stuff contaminates your good water. Besides that one major flaw it ok. It does have a 5 year warranty on it. And it doesn’t really take up a lot of room so for the price I haven’t seen much else out there for options unless you want the military grade rectangle tanks. This will be way cheeper though.
    Thanks for watching guys. If you have any questions make sure to leave them in the comments down below or write us on our website at paradiseonpennies.com

    Thanks for the review! I am going to use one of these to store used oil and wanted to see how the cap/spigot works.

    Thank you for demonstrating the spigot part. Been trying to find how that works and how it looks like since i keep finding only the cap part.

    It's also BPA free. I would just use the valve on the outside, not the inside. I think they just put it on the inside to protect it from damage during delivery to the store. Obviously the water is at risk of contamination if you put it on the inside.

    Just get an extra replacement lid that you use for dispensing water, and keep that in a ziplock when not in use.

    I had this unit for 4 hrs and never flipped the spigot inside the tank. Idk why you would want to do that. The more you open and close plastic threads the more hey wear and will eventually leak. I just left it in spigot mode and only opened the large cap to refill it. The spigot thread tends to leak even brand new. A little high quality (not the free stuff you get with faucets) thread tape keeps it from leaking.

      All very true, but in my case I put my containers under a bed I made in my back seat and it’s not tall enough for me to leave the spigot out so I have to put it inside. If I decide to leave it in the back then all of our stuff will fall on it and prolly break the spigot off. Either way if you leave the spigot on the outside and it’s dusty out the dust will still get In the spigot and it will still in up in your water when you pour it unless you wand to wash the spigot every time you use it. Sometimes we even have bugs crawling up there that end up getting poured into your water unknowingly! Fun fun!

    wipe it off before you put it back into the container. Or put it back inside after each use if your worried about dust.

      You can’t just easily wipe sand and dirt off without using a ton of water and what’s the point of having these if you have to put them inside after every use?

      WAY TOO MUCH trouble to wipe it off with a dry cloth or paper towel, would take 15-20 seconds. Much easier to make a TH-cam video complaining about a $15 water jug. Another option, especially if that amount of dust/grime on the spigot is such a concern, would be to stay home...or maybe not camp in a dusty environment...LIKE THE DESERT....which is known for......DUST!

    If you keep the spout out , put a small plastic bag over it , case closed

    Are they stackable?

    • @ParadiseOnPennies
      @ParadiseOnPennies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I guess you could stack them but they are not made to fit into one another. It has the spout and handle on top to will not sit flat.

      @@staryoke generally speaking, dogs get an immunity of giardia. Ours got giardia as a young pup (about 4 months old at that point). That accelerated his immunity. We hike in the CO back country all of the time. He has not had any issue in the last 3 years since.
