Wayne did an absolutely fantastic job with this build series! But in the end it made me happy I didn't order this...and I was on the fence. Even from the preproduction photos some things looked off about it and sadly it seems to have carried over to the final. The wings open too far apart, the panel gaps are way too wide and light bleed is distracting. I think money invested in a studio scale resin xwing kit would have been definitely the better option. The real estate to display it not withstanding.

Fantastic mate
I really wanted to get this when it came out but all the bad reviews kinda turned me off. It looks like a great kit but the panel gaps are just horrible. Plus I heard the electronics are terrible. Hopefully someone will reissue like STK did with the millennium falcon and make it better.

I’m going to have to take my apart as R2-D2 does not light up in xwing and still can’t get power lead to work so need to get into logic board to check R2-D2 lights up on test board and wing motor won’t stop

Great montage of course but I think what DeAgostini should have done was made the model a bit smaller so the ends wouldn't wobble so horribly like that when the wings open - smaller lengths of plastic probably would be far less likely to do that and spoil the look. :/
All wings report in. Is so sad the x-wing no more available for subscription as informed by deagostini.
Wayne, I think you are having fit issues with the centre top nose panels because the two side body panels next to the cockpit front look like they should be slotted under the cockpit. This may be the reason for the gap. According to reference pics everything should be flush in this area. Others may have better ideas, but just my tuppence. Cheers
I don't have a choice. The panels fit into the slots in the metal. I can't change that. It's a design problem. I don't think some of the panels are cut correctly.

Thanks for the videos, but I think we are all in agreement that this build has not been the best experience… I’m not happy with the body panel gapping and the general overall quality is basic and toy-like. When you consider the cost it is quite laughable, really…
I need help from the community. Having built the X-wing (with all the issues) I tried to mount it on the wall with the bracket. The said bracket will not hold the weight of the model. I've contacted deagostini but they only want to know what issue I'm having.....issues with. No help whatsoever. Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks

It's a microphone stand. Sadly Mitchell.didnt last and destroyed the X wing
