    Great video! I always remove the fill plug and fluid level plugs before I drain the fluid. I've had cases where I've already drained the fluid and had a very difficult time getting the plugs out because of rust or damage. Not a good day! Thanks for all the great content. God bless!

    Thank you for this video Daniel, very helpful. I just got an old L4800 from my father, and I want to give it a little love.

    A trick I learned on the Kubota is using a marker to write the date changed on the end of the filter.

    Nice job on this video. So many of these get way to anal about simple maintenance procedures and measuring fluids down to the exact drop. It all comes down to good common sense, and we know how that goes.

    I have a Kubota MX5100 and just about everything is similar on it for service. Any money spent on service, oil and grease is money well spent. That metal on the magnet was scary.

    Any thoughts 2-1/2 years later (regarding use of 3rd party filters and fluids)?
    My tractor L4600 is 10 years old and has never had the hydraulic fluid changed so I bought Kubota Super UDT2 synthetic hyrdaulic fluid. Cost a pretty penny but it's certainly a lot cheaper than a transmission if the synthetic vs conventional arguing online means anything.
    It's also recommended for the frontend fluid as well.

      Well it’s an interesting thing. I just recently changed back to using kabob UDT because of some of the problems I have been having with my backhoe attachment. So in short there is something to be said for kubota hydronic oil.

    Nice video Dan. I have watched all your tractor vids and you have done a lot of work with that 3200. After all the work do you ever feel like it is to small or just the right size for what you need it to do?

    Is there a generiac hydraulic oil for kubota tractors?

  • @bryantjones8039
    @bryantjones8039 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, I have the kubota L3301D and it takes 7.1 gallons. I've never heard of a tractor only using 1 plus gallons!

    Just pulled the hydraulic filters off my L3200 today for the first time. Found some scary looking metal shavings but apparently that's normal.

      Tractor supply, Wilco, or google a metal supplier in your area. Heavier duty stuff I got from the metal supplier in Tacoma Washington.

    what was the hydraulic fluid that you use I've been using the UDT Kubota but its been expensive. would like to find a comparable synthetic hydraulic fluid

    • @605pilot
      @605pilot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was told by the dealer that if you use any other hydraulic fluid other than the Kubota hydraulic fluid it voids the warranty for any hydraulic related problems.

    How many hours are on your tractor, how often do you "change" the hydraulic oil?

    • @ljjames7604
      @ljjames7604 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      400 hours is what manufacturer calls for

    • @court2379
      @court2379 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ljjames7604 I am trying to figure out why. I have seen other places recommend 1000 hrs. My manual says every 100...
      In an engine the oil gets contaminated and diluted. In a transmission it is a relatively sealed. If you keep your quick couplers clean the oil should last for a very long time. Similar to car transmissions.

    the dealer wants $950 for a 400 hr maintenance for my 2010 kubota 3300 su how much do you think i'd save doing myself?

    • @angusblack9900
      @angusblack9900 ปีที่แล้ว

      Boochie123 I have a mx5100. Just the fluid for the hydraulics is roughly $28.00 per gallon. The filters(2) I believe are 90 for 1 and the other is about 1/2. I have a hst . In short it a little over $500.00 not counting the front axel. And anyone who changes oil in their vehicles can do this it is pretty simple. 😊

    should make a funnel for the engine oil. that shit one you were using had such a slim neck, must have taken a week. I thought the front gear oil was just hydraulic fluid too?
