As an artist - can you focus on "feel" when taking notes?
The Apple Pencil will always have that slippery plastic on glass feel but Samsung's EMR should allow you to use different and better Wacom styli with it.
I have both and the tab screen looks better hands down the iPad u can see better outside other than that it goes to the tab.
Just a side note: why didn't you run the displays through a color test system? Eyeballing it is not a good measure of display color quality, which is why we have P3, sRGB, etc.

How weird. He's making comparisons and clearly expressing a subjective opinion. The content looks better and more enjoyable on the amoled panel and it is a fact, but he says the complete opposite lol. iPad is more true to life, but that doesn't mean it looks better than the Tab S8 ultra.
I have the 12.9 and returned my Ultra. The ultra was not as sharp and was duller looking. I tried everything to make myself want to keep the Ultra but after one week gave it up. The 12.4 S7 which I own is the best Galaxy tablet, the screen is outstanding.
I think the 12.9 Pro is outstanding in display quality and Its a keeper 100%,
Period. The only time it's useful is when you're standing under the sun.
@@calgary2800 yeah, I've been hearing about how the S8 plus and ultra have better screen but when I went in store to check for myself, even iPad air M1 looked better. And it's not that just that particular piece was defective, but 3 models at 2 different stores, all three were dull compared to even the iPad air, I assumed amoled would obviously be better but that was definitely not the case, even my 2019 Android phone looks better.
Then I compared it to the s22 ultra, which was the best display I've ever seen except the Sony oleds TVs. So, the phone and the tab, despite having amoled screens, have a massive difference in quality.
@@WhyNot-cb1jb I currently have the Z fold 4 and I can honestly say the mini led display looks better for movies and the blacks look almost the same depending on the time of day
My iPad mini 6 has washed out faded Colours on dark scenes and generally isn’t good for movies but for bright colours it beats the Z fold 4
I think Samsung has an issue with their OLED screens that most people don’t care about lol
The mini led display on the ipsd pro is the best screen I’ve ever witnessed and it just seems to look better than every OLED screen I’ve seen
@@oo0024 Apple ipad pro's aspect ratio sucks. For media consumption Ultra is way better. M1 chip is an overkill, and it is useless on IOS.
Apparently the guy has never heard of the natural mode of Samsung screens, not to mention that you can adjust colorimetry in the Samsung settings, and also activate the video enhancer mode to have the true HDR capacity of Samsung screens.
You are tech testers, these are things you should know and above all you must tell your listeners.
It's true that it's almost impossible to be neutral in life, but being professional is possible..

The tab S8 ultra won’t support true hdr, it only meets the minimum requirement for True Black VESA DisplayHDR400 with it’s 420 nits peak brightness, and as many display reviewers have proved, the VESA standard is absolute BS. Saying that the tab S8 ultra have hdr support is the same as saying that a lot of sub 400 dollars gaming monitors have “HDR” support, which is just absolutely not true, sure they can technically “display” contents and they technically meets DisplayHDR400, but there will be a lot of clipping on the highlights, and the peak brightness of the oled display is to blame, oled could never reach the peak brightness of miniled displays due to increased risk of burnin, only Samsung’s Oled displays on phones can really display true hdr due to their over 1000 nits peak brightness. Even when oled’s superior black level can theoretically make it have infinite contrast ratio thus infinite dynamic range, in practice, the rest of the image have to be darkened to make space for the contrast required for the highlights, making it even darker than SDR contents, if you have to darken the rest of the image just to technically achieve “High Dynamic Range” instead of just increasing the peak brightness to extend the dynamic range like what mini-led displays can do, then I don’t see the point when one of the most important point of HDR is to make bright highlights pop, and not to make the rest of the image darker, so what is the point then for HDR400 if the image is too dark for you to even notice the increased dynamic range?
Wow a honest comparison from a apple reviewer…lol. Did you turn off the vivid display settings for the samsung before the review. Yes it’s more saturated with that turned on. Also talking about the aspect ratio, let’s be real vertically the iPad is more what most of us are used to but horizontally, the samsung clearly has the edge. And the Samsung has deeper blacks.
What you’re saying about the vivid settings I agree but the mini led display has brighter colours and the HDR out shines the OLED making the MINI LED better for movies the blacks aren’t an issue on the mini led
The real issues with the mini led are the pixels they have ridiculous poor response times 🙈 it’s actually a joke I notice it every day makes me want to snap my IPad in half

Im an fan but considering the screen size difference & both being around the same price, i would go the Samsung tablet.
Im no expert but my viewing on this comparison i couldnt really tell that much difference! I would much prefer the bigger screen. Just my opinion. Thanks Miles!
You will never get an honest review from these Apple fan boy youtuber numb nuts.
Trust me dude who did this is practically blind . You can see noticably blooming on the iPad mini led which is consistent with back light controlled mini led. You can see the S8 ultra has much better Contrast and sharper thanks to it's higher resolution . For power I'll say iPad pro will destroy the S8 ultra. In terms of screen quality the S8 ultra is a no brainer.
Problem with the iPad it only support 15 watt charging as the android supports 45 watt charging.

For Android, Go to developer settings and set the animation to 0.5 down from 1.0 that will make the UI & Apps transition much quicker and smoother.
most youtubers dont do that i removed all animations from settings and developer settings in s22 ultra the phone was fast not just fast way fast than anything my eyes saw amazing samsung devices

@@RunForPeace-hk1cu i know i am using it but still i can see some animation with iphone than android which reduced animation. you can make device launch apps faster and look smooth i have compared it and found it its faster than ios feature can use it i wouldn't say no and not having it
You’ll definitely have to do this as the Samsung tablet ages, and it will not age well as far as the processor or system updates. But if you are buying this to watch video I think this Samsung is the one to get.

The Tab S8 Ultra has 2 display settings. By default it'd set on Vivid mode. Try using Natural mode to get the most accurate colors :)
to me videos looked way better on s8 ultra because of aspects ratio and colors too

The iPads aspect ratio is too boxy like a 1980s tv set . Movies don’t look right and those huge black bars
Ultra is better for video but iPad aspect ratio is better for most other things. The ultra is not really useful in portrait mode
My complaint to, the Facebook app is horrible on the 12.9 pro.
There are a few display modes on Samsung devices vibrant (the mode you had it on), advanced a mode that you can calibrate, and natural a neutral mode.
Why didn’t you upload this video in HDR, especially when you’re testing HDR performance of the displays???!!! You really should of upload this video in hdr first, this way people will clearly see the peak brightness advantage of the iPad Pro.

I'm an iPad pro user . I had the 2018 iPad , Inow I have the 2021 iPad 11 pro user. I don't have the mini led screen that 12.9 inch has, but I can 100% assure you that before I bought I went to best buy 3 times and I compared the tab S8 ultra to the iPad 12.9. screen . There is literally no competition, there was almost no scientific comparison in this matchup . The Oled S8 ultra is significantly better than the iPad 12.9 mini led. It's not even remotely close . The color vibrance the punchiness of the screen . This dude has probably the worst review on the screens I have ever seen. The Mini led iPad is brighter , the iPad is more powerful but when it comes to screen quality there is no competition. They both feel snappy to use

I had an ipad pro and traded it for the S8. I absolutely love the s8. Paid less than $600 and it came with the spen which is awesome. I use it often in dex mode as a legit laptop and also as a desktop when plugged into my monitor. One of the coolest devices I've owned. I'm hoping Apple gets innovative again. More speed and a better camera than last year's model needs to change.

Hello, I currently have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 tablet, which may be great, but I mostly use it to watch movies in the car. At night or in the shade it's ok, but when a little sun hits the screen it's worse. I have a question whether the Galaxy S9 plus would be a much better equivalent or maybe only the S9 Ultra. And how do the S8 Plus or S8 Ultra compare to it?

Umm, never mind the fact that a much bigger display has less pixel density per inch for the same number of pixels but that aside, when did LCD displays have deeper blacks than holed displays?
I'm getting the feeling that not everything is equal in this comparison. Factory display setting differences are very much a thing. It's not like Samsung to be behind anyone in their top model displays, especially new one's.

Both great as far as I am concerned though as with everything pros and cons either way. Whatever you choose for your own specific needs I am sure you will be happy, though I would argue that the Tab S8+ is the natural rival to the iPad Pro 12.9 and that the Tab S8 Ultra is on its own as a one off with no real tablet competition at this size, only 2-in-1 W11 machines.
I agree S8+ is closest on screen size, and this would be £650 cheaper when pen and keyboard included, as the pen is included with the Samsung, and a free keyboard can be claimed on pre order.
They r nit-picking and biases 🤧 does matter nowadays I don't even watch tech reviews anymore because they are bias.... and don't really provide point of view of everyday buyers , it's pure snobbish behaviors all because it's popular 😉 that's ONLY reason 🤔
@@pixelking_871 i’m not sure we’re seeing what he’s seeing in person, so I do think that the tab S ultra is better for watching video. But there are other factors of course, and I wouldn’t pick the Samsung and less I needed a more laptop type device. Then again at the price I wouldn’t get either but would get a MacBook Air.

I think the reviewer requires a eyesight test. iPad is no where near as good as a S8 Ultra for HDR and media content.

I have an iPad Pro 9.7" and bought a Tab S7+ for half the price of an iPad Pro 12.9" and the aspect ratio is way better for what I use a tablet for (video and comics). Videos are kind of tiny with huge black bars on the iPad Pro. I'm even trading in both for the Tab S8 Ultra. Samsung's are a lot cheaper when you factor in the fact that they come with the stylus and keyboard case (for pre-orders for the latter). Being able to sideload apps is a gamechanger for me too. I didn't like how slippery the Apple Pencil Gen 1 was but I think the Gen 2 is a lot better in that regard. So yeah, I think it just depends on how you use your tablet.

TH-cam is the only hdr content I can watch on my galaxy tab.
Which would be better as an art / content creation tool? I like that I can add extra memory to the Ultra and the stylus is added in (can probably use other, bigger styli with it too) whereas I love the pinpoint accuracy of the apple pencil but I'm not in love with the plastic on glass feel when drawing.
If I could use the zBook G2 X3 stylus on the ultra - this would max it an automatic buy. Apple don't allow rival styli and that's almost the deal-breaker. I don't watch movies or video on such machines - I prefer a proper, 50 inch TV with speakers for that.
Absolutely the iPad Pro, the iPad have more Pro apps like Photoshop/Illustrator/Fresco, Affinity Photo/Designer, Procreate, all of which is not available on the Tab, and Lumafusion that is still not available on android and even if it does, the storage is not big enough for video editing, and the sd card expanded storage is so slow that it is practically unusable for storing anything more than text file and photos, we’re talking about 160MB/s transfer speed on the micro sd card, and more than 2GB/s transfer speed on the 1/2tb iPad Pros. Plus although Samsung includes the s pen, what they didn’t include is the charger, which the iPad does include. Plus apple does allow rival styli to be sold, it is just that they don’t have pressure sensitivity.

@@dpptd30 those pro apps are only relevant if you're a pro. and if you're a pro you're likely already either dependent completely on PC or FCPX on mac because a lot is still missing on the ipad.

There is just no comparison. I have both. The Ultra is massively superior for streaming. It's bigger, multitasks much better. Sorry but Apple is way behind Samsung now. I was so glad to retire the iPad Pro and step up to the best tablet available. And it actually has a real file syetem!
I have the iPad pro and the blooming is really bad, the only time that I would say this display is better than amoled is when there is no black on the screen, which is almost never. Not to mention the aspect ratio, 16:10 is way better if you plan on doing gaming(ps,xbox,steam) on the tablet.
Don’t fooled on how it looks, focus on how well the apps work(software) bugs, battery life ect… let’s wait for the new iPad pro
This Samsung tablet is literally the ultimate portable media consumption device on the market, best thing to watch movies on that is not an OLED TV mounted to a wall, the iPad Pro remains the best all around tablet for most of the tasks one uses a tablet for.

The iPad screen is very noticeably behind the Tab S8 Ultra, especially in the demonstrations and zoom shots you showed.... watching this on an OLED display too.

This bias towards Apple in the review isn't hidden at all. He's truly gushing over the iPad in every section he compared it to over the S8 Ultra. He even said he preferred the blacks on the iPad Pro over the PURE BLACKS of an OLED SMH. OK, man, wipe the Apple juice drooling down your chin, it's pretty obvious where you get your paycheck from. The only negative thing he said about his beloved iPad was when he conceded the problem with it's blooming. I guess he couldn't whitewash that flaw, could he? I wonder when he'll get that official iPad calculator? Maybe another 10 years, if he's lucky.
Look at the black bar at 0:40 (iPad Pro blacks) and then at 1:35 ( s8 Ultra blacks ). What black do you think is more black? The answer is iPad, because it doesn't reflect light as much as oled, meaning the blacks will look more black in well lit environments.

@@learner5090 Mini led displays can also produce a pure black, but not in all cases as the tech suffers from blooming.
@@Toss3 I agree. I notice with mini led almost neligible to OLED, compare to traditional LCD. The issue is the youtuber is clearly bias to Apple and trying to smudge the samsung any chance he gets. I love youtubers that aren't bias and give genuine accessments. Viewers are becoming more aware of this trend, will no longer view the youtuber as a credible source.

Watching this video The only really noticeable difference is the Samsung aspect ratio is way better for watch videos. Every video on the iPad pro is like 1.5x bigger on the Samsung tablet in landscape mode.

In the dark areas the Tab S8U doesn't stand a chance. The glass is so so reflective it almost looks like an LCD panel. In dark environment tho it should be as good as the iPad

If you want to not see your face when handling a tablet in a bright room, you need a matte screen protector.

I can't be mad that this is bias because it's not called 9to5 Samsung, but wow. A Ipad has deeper blacks. Lol. I have a iphone, ipad pro m1 and mini but when I first saw TH-cam on the Samsung I immediately new the screen was sharper and looks far better than my ipads. This ultra with the oled along with the keyboard case, multi tasking, and dex has me shelfing the ipads. Also if you want natural colors just set it to natural lol. Wtf? I like the channel a lot but I can't take this review seriously. Subjective is OK but you messed up saying ipad has blacker blacks. Wow. The ultras ratio is perfect for video with no bars. This is crazy. I'm gone!lol.

I noticed the iPad is sharper, more accurate and has better detail in the shadows but when it comes to the white background the details looks washed out compared to Samsung. I'm not too sure if that's due to the blooming effect.

Apple may have it for brightness and sharpness but for some reason and I can only think it’s because of aspect ratio and size but I prefer the ultra. And I’m a iPad Pro 12.9 M1 owner
400 nits not 500 nits for s8 ultra from what i found
IPad 11 pro has better aspect ration and it’s ideal tablet size. It can be handled easily. Tablet beyond 12 inch is not for regular customer who likes it to be portable yet usable. Just big is not the way to go for everyone.
The thing is most content isn't 4x3 content. It's almost all 16x9. So iPad gets big black bars and a relatively small image. The Samsung dwarfs the size of the image on the odd aspect ratio iPad with tiny black bars. That overwhelms any small differences in image quality. I have an iPad Pro. It's got a nice screen but that aspect ratio is terrible for movies. Samsung is the clear winner for streaming movies.

The full screen has sold me on the s8 ultra, Apple put nearly all of the content in a small box, what a waste of that large screen.
I doubt you will see very many (if any) of these Samsung 14" tablets in the wild.

Lol, so why are they completely sold out then? Pre-orders sold out the 1st day. I have one and the iPad pro and by far the Galaxy tab s8 ultra embarrassed the iPad
@@Dr_Won_Hung_Lo Apple is terrified........You do know that Apple can buy Samsung outright with the change they find in the couch cushions of the Cupertino Headquarters Visitors Lounge.....They NEED Samsung to make these products ... so the FTC and the Justice Dept don't come after them for a Monopoly in the tablet market.
@Goobfilm cast DO some research BEFORE you make a statement! Samsung is a huge company. They make more than electronics. They also have a shipbuilding yard that builds ships. Samsung is a bigger company than Apple will ever be. It would take all of Apple's market value to build what Samsung already does including making processors

Ipad pro is not looking so pro anymore. The Samsung is so much better in every way. I can finally ditch my Windows laptop Ipad is looking more like a toy these days...
The iPad pro should've gone with 16:10 aspect ratio.
To compare oled vs others you should compare them alsonin a dari room. This is kinda pointless to compare the blacks when your room is lit.
Easy to solve Samsung Display *issue* u have
1. Remove your bias toward apple products
2. U can change every display to have more natural feel in *Setting*
From adaptive to natural
Easy solve
No more punchy contrast
3. Samsung product have more variety to change toward ur preferences
Apple products has more *static* : we made this, get use to it vibe
wow i have noticed that when samsung wins so thing he brushes it off in the next statement and then he when ipad wins. its not even close. But i get it. The way apple treated Technobuffalo and unboxtherapy. i all apple first reviewers are scared to say what needs to be said. (Take the L like a good lad)
They both look fine, it's just that I can't leave the apps in Apple's app store
If I were to buy a tablet to watch video, the tab S8 ultra is clearly better. But I prefer the iPad for a variety of other reasons.

@@KC-lg8qf Everything else but watching video! I read on an iPad & the aspect ratio works better, not just for PDFs but for everything - it’s a little bit wider in portrait mode. Plus the scaling results and pinch and zoom are better. Beyond readability there’s better long-term performance and system updates. On the lower end, Amazon tablets are better, except it’s painful not having the Google play store and normal android apps.
@@joefilter2923 I find reading books to be great on the Ultra. I think 5 years of updates is plenty as well, and I have no reason to believe the performance will suffer long term. Especially since you can keep the load in the internal storage light with and added Sd card. Apple might provide updates but they are agressive in making you want to upgrade by throttling performance.
You should tell which are those reasons ? Im getting " mad " ( isnt true ) about the better choice ' the price is the same . s8 put on his stencil ..aspect should be considered. ** I would use not x work , im gettin to buy a tab bec i dont have a pc . just to watch video and surf on line .
Ipad display is totally beaten by Tab S ultra's big 16:10 14.6 2k 120hz display hands down......
