As someone who has had to deal with chronic health issues, I’m really inspired by how you just keep on creating great docs and making things despite the pain, low energy and the grind of being a working stiff. To my mind, you are far above the mainstream pap that gets shown on TV and for which some people make a very comfortable living . At some point you’ll get the recognition and rewards that you have earned. Despite all your therapy walks, I’ve never heard you actually discuss your own relationship to making your docs. Are you compelled to make them and enjoy the entire process? Or are there aspects of making them that are a big struggle? Is it hard to muster the energy to make them after days of JOB, or are you excited to get home and write, edit, etc? How do you manage your energy levels? Bravo for all that you do Steve!

I enjoy all of your stories but since I grew up just a few blocks from Wall and Lombard, this one is my new favorite. .

Awe! It's nice to watch your videos. I grew up in Portland, Oregon but moved away 2005.

If I was a juror back then I would have wanted to convict Ann as her story just didn't add up and she was a cheating trollop. I mean who sees their husband a bloody mess in the bed beside them and then runs from the house leaving their children alone and possibly in danger?! Especially since she initially yelled, "They're killing my husband"? As she retreated to safety? But in the end after listening to all the evidence you laid out... there still was that "shadow of a doubt" and I would have had to acquit her like the jury did back then. Great video Steve!
Anyone looking for another great video to listen to should check out Steve's "The (in) complete history of Portland's brothels" video! It's another long one at two hours! 😊

Same. A mother who didn't even try to protect her kids on this situation would definitely make me suspicious.
