Fortaleza is famous for its handicrafts, particularly its embroidered white lace textiles. One of the best places in the city to pick up locally made gifts and souvenirs is at the Fortaleza Central Market (Mercado Central de Fortaleza).

Nos últimos anos, Fortaleza e o estado do Ceará têm tido um grande aumento nos indicativos, bem como atração de inúmeros polos industriais e, hoje, Fortaleza já é a cidade mais rica e mais visitada no Nordeste brasileiro. De fato, muitas construções em nossa cidade lembram a ensolarada Miami, mas com características regionais encontradas apenas aqui.

Wow! Just amazing video of Fortaleza, very well edited! The next time in Brazil you must visit the neighbor state "Rio Grande do Norte" and its sites: Natal, Pipa, Genipabu, Maracajau...also make a trip to Fernando de Noronha Island (it's a bit exclusive island, but THE most beautiful in Brazil).
Off course, I told about RGN state because my family is from there, but don't forget to spend more time in Northeast Brazil. I could not fail to mention Porto de Galinhas, Porto Seguro, Maragogi, Maceió, São Miguel dos Milagres, Morro de São Paulo, Itacaré, Lençois Maranhesses... etc etc etc... you name it.
You can spend one year in this region and it would not be enough to explore everything. I say to you bro, Brazil is maybe the most underreted touristic destination in the world, people have no clue of it has to offer.

Main tip: start out with a drink/food at Moleskine Gastrobar. It’s in the ”party area”. Pick up the vibe from there and ask for the next place 👌

The heat is something out of this world, be prepared for extreme temperatures, having a lot of water and air conditioner around. Sometimes the thermal sensation is close to 50 degrees.

I would love to be in Rio during the winter in the United States. Chicago winters are brutal and cold.

The northeast is always a good plan! I will go to Recife/Olinda myself in a few months (and neighbouring João Pessoa). An excellent choice ... as well as Fortaleza/Cumbuco (and maybe Jericoacoara).

"Don't even consider taking a bus from Rio to Fortaleza", BRO, I've done it twice. It doesn't take weeks, but 3 days non-stop (driver changes regularly and bus doesn't stop, only for eating).
It was actually from Fortaleza to Rio. I wouldn't do it again though, too heavy. I've seen marvels all through HAHAH... (Particularly through inland Bahia)

Wow,, Fortaleza. Maybe it´s a good idea, to start the journey in the North of Brazil, Salvador de bahia, and Recife! I like it more quiet! for some time! But I don´t like to much strong wind! I lived for month in Thailand, Hua Hin, area Pak Nam Pran, this is a special place for skite surfer! There are lonely beaches, (ok so 15 years back) 🤣but the waters mostly cloudy and its windy most of the time, so cannot swim very good. I like to swim a hour per day, so I´m keep my shape! And of course,,NO alcohol! 😂
Yes, the north of Brazil is my favorite region. Fortaleza, Jeri, Cumbuco and all the wonderful places I still have to visit. But wait a little with Salvador, och go there with someone. As a gringo you’ll be more of a target there

May fly to Columbia first, for 700 is cheaper, and after 3 Month to brazil....is the visa problem in brazil. 3 month and then they kick you out!

I’ll be diplomatic: Your experience from Floripa will totally depend on the weater. The warm period is pretty short, and so is the peak tourist season (if you want to party and meet people).
In Fortaleza you will have perfect, warm weather. Always. ☀️☀️☀️

@@rjmh3968 Conheço é um bairro muito bonito, mas que eu saiba não existe nada oficializando que uma cidade deve ser conhecida por nome de outra. Muitas cidades litorâneas do Brasil têm um Feeling de Miami, e Fortaleza é na minha opinião a que tem mais esse feeling, pelo o clima ensolarado, arquitetura, mar, orla, vibe, etc. Mas, respeito a sua opinião.
