We booked a cruise with Celebrity in an Oceanview. I kept watching the prices and when Aqua Class went on sale I "rebooked". We received a $500 discount! I do think if you take into account that drinks, wifi, gratuities, and in our case, daily thermal spa pass, and a "specialty" restaurant are included... It is a better price than the a la carte lines.
I totally agree, Diane! And that’s another great thing about Celebrity - I never have to wonder or guess what my final bill will be onboard since literally everything I need is included! So glad you also got a great deal on Aqua Class. Thank you for sharing and for watching! 😊
I've been on Celebrity in AquaClass, and while nice, it's a stretch to call the Aqua Class balcony/veranda a suite. I've got two tranatlantics on Celebrity Edge in April and then the Beyond in October. While the Blu was nice, we ended up ordering a lot that was available in the Main restaurants. I also found the Persian Garden overrated on the Solstice class ships and not worth the extra cost for our money. For those reasons, we chose to do Concierge for these next two Celebrity cruises. WIth that said, hope you have a fantastic cruise experience!
Zach we to sailed the Apex last August in Greece. We are scheduled to sail the Edge this summer out of Barcelona. Enjoyed the Apex immensely last summer. You are right, it is our favorite cruise line. You have convinced me to try and upgrade to Aqua class! Great videos!
Hey JP, thanks for the comment. Appreciate you watching and hope you enjoy your upcoming cruise. Keep watching for price drops into Aqua Class and, if that doesn’t happen, then use the MoveUp just ahead of your cruise to try and bid into it. Much more Edge content to come!!
I understand your excitement. We sailed a Back to Back on the Edge in December and will be sailing on the Apex in April. We have also sailed several times on the Celebrity Solstice Class.
Looking at booking on Edge in Aqua class for sometime next year. It is a shame that blue doesn’t have ocean views. I really enjoy watching the ocean go by whilst having dinner
Thank you! It was absolutely incredible. I wouldn’t pay what they normally go for; I don’t see the value in that. But I could not pass up this great deal!!
Always great videos Zach! Thank you. Unfortunately our 2 Edge sailings were cancelled last year. We replaced those with a B2B - Norwegian Fjords & Baltic on Celebrity Silhouette in May, so here's hoping. I can't say that we're 'Spa' people so we wouldn't take advantage of the benefits so we book in Concierge and have not been disappointed. Again, thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Thank you for watching, Kathy, and for the lovely comment! I have my fingers crossed for your upcoming sailings and hope you have a great time. I’ll be on Beyond in May and so excited to try her out!!
Aqua Class cabins are our favorite (even if they are not "suites", no access to The Retreat nor Luminae restaurant). The Blu Restaurant is perfect, always good, and a lot of choices, different every night. Too bad it's not opened for lunch on sea days. We even prefer Aqua Class to Suites, even with Luminae restaurant. You had such a great price, even more being solo ! Next June, we are booked on Celebrity Beyond, in an Aqua Class Suite (that will mean full access to Blu, Luminae, The Retreat, the spa...). But it's not the same price !
Thanks for watching! I was so thankful for the great deal I got! I’m booked for Beyond in May and wow, huge price difference haha. I’m definitely not staying in Aqua again. I hope you enjoy your upcoming cruise!!
Nice room tour. However, you mention that this is a suite which is not the case. It's a standard Aqua Class Infinite Veranda. A Suite would be a Aqua Sky Suite with a different layout.
Just a slight correction Zach. While Edge class ships do have forward thrusters, like most cruise ships, newer ships now have azipods. They are electric aft motors that can turn 360º and act as thrusters when not used as “main engines”. No longer do contemporary ships have thru hull drive shafts between the engines and propellers. They are independent electric motors. Thank you so much for your great videos.
@@ZachtheTravelingMan I must say it was your food video in Blu on the edge that definitely spiked our interest more … Been thinking about it a lot recently but your video definitely influenced our decision!!! Thank you!! We are very very excited🛳😎
Hey, Zach - welcome to Celebrity. It only gets better with time. :) One thing you have said in this video and also on your tour of your aqua class cabin is you keep referring to the stateroom as an Aqua Class Suite. It is NOT a suite. It is a regular stateroom (like Concierge Class) but with excellent perks specific to the spa and including exclusive access to the restaurant Blu. The term "Aqua Class Suite" was first coined on the Celebrity Reflection. I stayed in one at the time (back in 2013). Those Aqua Class Suites were since converted into Sky Suites. The term has now come back with Celebrity Apex and they reintroduced the "Aqua Class Sky Suite". Keep up the good work with your video blogs.
Enjoyed your video from start to finish. Our next cruise is on Apex in a Sky Suite with Luminae AND Blu. Aqua Class has priority in Blu, but Retreat guests can also partake. Our bonus......12 days! Can't wait.
They should give you a kick back considering I just booked a Celebrity Edge cruise and went for the Aqua class...was on the fence then the 3-4 videos you had sealed the deal.
Thanks Zach! Said it before, but we love your videos and we love Celebrity. You mentioned that you had an early check-in. Our first cruise in 2022 is on Silhouette (then 2 on Apex) in Aquaclass. We snagged an 11AM boarding time on embarkation. Question: Were you able to drop off your carry-ons in the cabin early or did you have to wait until the room was fully ready (and what time was that for you?). Keep up the great work!
Thank you for watching! I pretty much went directly to my room and it was already available and ready for me. In fact, I stopped by Guest Services first thing and they asked if I had been to my room yet. Not sure if they prioritize guests with Aqua Class and suites getting to their room first or that it was just because no one was in my room the week prior due to the lessened amount of people sailing each week. Long story short - try and go to your room right away! Thanks for the nice comment. 😊
May I ask during bidup for aqua class did celebrity ask for a certain price or above a set price?.Or did you just bid what you felt to be a good deal .Thanks for vlog going on Edge this summer very excited.
They set a starting price and you just bid above that. I was right at or barely above their starting price. We only sailed with 740 total people, so I’m sure they were eager to get all the extra money they could.
Thank you so much! I highly recommend Le Méridien Dania Beach. Very classy and affordable hotel right by the airport, and just 10-12 minutes from the port!
Hello Zach, it has been probably 25 years since I’ve been on a cruise! The Celebrity Edge is sailing out of Seattle and up into Alaska. Hi there! Thanks for watching. I am not completely sure what the protocols are for you if they are different because you’re coming internationally. I went to my pharmacy two days before the cruise and did a test, printed out the result, and showed that in person at the terminal. It’s been that way for all of my cruises so far. Just one small correction: you're NOT in an AQ class suite. You're in an AQ class room. There are now AQ class suites offered by Celebrity on their E-class ships. These are full sky suites with access to Blu and the spa. But what you are in is a normal AQ class room. Just wanted to make the correction so your subscribers are not confused.
Yes. It was only my second time on Celebrity at this point, first time in Aqua, and my boarding pass said “Suite: Aqua” so there was a bit of confusion. I am well aware now, have done 5 more cruises with Celebrity since, and many others have pointed that out here. Thanks for watching!
I have been looking on cruiseplum for the kind of deal you got for a solo. Nothing below 2 grand for a balcony on any apex or edge ship. I think those cheap deals are gone sadly. :(
Dave, sadly they do appear to be vanishing quickly now that cruise capacity and demand is slowly increasing. I hope you find a deal that works for you on Celebrity! Thanks for watching!
