hello the celebrity website actually does not show a breakdown of the specialty restaurant pricing options, they also have a per cabin charge on gratuities so what I understand from your review is drinks have an additional gratuity charge that correct?
My wife and I only sail Celebrity. We go on about 7 per year. You mentioned bringing wine onboard. Something my wife and I do is we rent a cabana when in a port that we really do not get excited about. With the cabana you get a liter of grey goose vodka and a six pack of premium beer and several other perks. Oh yeah, you have the cabana for 12 hours 9am to 9pm. You have a butler during these hours and they will bring you anything from the menu that they provide. You can use the vodka for the rest of the cruise if you want to make your own drink. The price is around $90 total. It is very reasonable and we just chill on the ship rather than visit a port we see too often. Obviously this will not appeal to some people but I wanted to mention it.
Such a great tip! I didn’t know about the extras in the cabana on a port day. Perfect for the days you want to just hang out and enjoy the ship! Thanks for sharing.
I love Celebrity. Reserve your shore excursions and specialty dining before you board. You may save some money and you know for sure you have a place. They do not charge for dining until that night so you can always cancel if you need to. Also, if you go Concierge class there is a luncheon at embarkation. No need to go to the Buffett. If you don’t go Concierge you can go to the pool grill or spa restaurant to avoid the crowds.
We are excited to take the Celebrity Summit from Vancouver to Seward departing May 24th. I know we will be going to all the shows and spending our days at sea in the solarium. We will also be taking in the view from the outdoor movie theater deck and sky lounge. I look forward to hearing all about your trip!

I love your format! And I love your cat! No one else has mentioned the info about waiting to pay off your cruise in case there is a price adjustment or getting a bonus credit as a shareholder or the AARP discount. Your tips are the best!
OMG Kristie!!! I have just discovered your channel because my husband and I are researching Celebrity cruise videos. We are taking a trip on the Beyond in about a month. The best tip we got from this video was learning that any age adult can be an AARP member!!! Not sure how I’ve made it over 40 years of life not knowing this info!! LOL. The cruise tips were awesome too. You gave some great advice!!! You immediately got a 👍 and a subscribe from me!!!! I’m going to watch your Alaska videos next. That’s one of our future dreams!!!!
Thank you for you enthusiastic comment. I know, right! AARP has such great gift certificates and you save so much $$$. Celebrity Beyond will be great. My husband and I booked a Celebrity Edge cruise for May of next year going to Alaska. Alaska is a great cruise and I love Celebrity. Check out this video too where we sailed on Celebrity Summit. th-cam.com/video/Q_AQjFYXHV0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dQVaadM-kwHEg-B_. 😊
First-time viewer and subscriber. You have offered the most overall comprehensive review of specific benefits and tips compared to all other TH-camrs. In addition, you are beautiful, believable, and seem to be a very nice mature woman.
Well done Kristie, a most comprehensive and fun review. And thank you Mr👍😉 I’ve taken some great tips away from your video, next March for our 40th Anniversary for us on Beyond so we set sail from the US. My first cruise and I wasn’t really upbeat about cruises until recently, but always open minded. Videos like yours make me look forward to it even more. Big thank you. 👏
We started cruising in 2023 and quickly fell in love with it. Cruising combines great food, great entertainment, great activities, all while sailing to a place that we have never seen before in luxury. I think that you will love it too. And, CONGRATS on your 40th. That is AMAZING! Cruising will be a great way to celebrate. Thank you for watching and commenting. 😊
My biggest tip is to embrace your extrovert. Join the trivia games and other fun like the airplane toss; you might even want to watch a couple TH-cam’s on the best airplane design prior to sailing. I have found that knowing where the cruise director is hosting events is key to finding the best fun activities on the ship. Regarding the casino. You’ve got to know that the slots on cruise ships are not regulated like in Vegas so the odds are even higher against you. But, if you love gambling, I would introduce myself to the casino manager and ask about Celebrity’s casino loyalty club, I’m not sure what it is called, but I’d let him know you are interested. You might get free drinks or a specialty restaurant out of it. Have a great time and check back afterwards and let me know how it went. 😊🎉
Thanks, I have joined the blue chip club. I will compare the odds/payout rates closely as I worked in casinos for 30 years including 3 ships. Cheers, Craig
We ended up in an Oceanview Cabin. The price was very similar to the inside cabin, so we thought why not. Now we aren’t going to bid up because my in laws are coming too and we don’t want to be moved far away from them. Bidding up is tricky. You do not get to choose your cabin, so you mind end up below the nightclub! 😮. If it were just Noah and me, I might go for it anyways. 😽
Curious about the cabin upgrade that Ron did. Also the captain program. Not sure which cabin we should book. We don’t spend much tile in the cabin. So many options.
There sure are a lot of options. I like the darkness of an inside cabin and it definitely encourages us to get up and get out. There are definitely plusses to veranda cabins. I know many cruisers love to get room service for breakfast and start their day out very leisurely on the balcony. I would just check what is available and book they best that fits your budget. The Captain's Club is Celebrity's loyalty plan. They are part of the Royal Caribbean line, so the status transfers a bit between the lines.
I heard you should avoid the deck 9 sunset veranda cabins because they are directly under the sunset bar, so all day long, you will hear tables and chairs moving around above your room.
@@cruisingwithkristieI have booked our first ever cruise (on the Edge leaving Seattle on May 23rd). I booked a Prime Concierge Infinite Veranda room but am thinking about moving up to a Sky Suite to have a traditional balcony. Any thoughts on which room would be best at this time of year?
@@Steinlage63The Edge looks like a beautiful ship and Celebrity is sooo much fun with great food. I don’t think you will be disappointed either way, but if you have the means, go for the Sky Suite sounds AMAZING!
Interesting... in the picture where you have the 3 specialty/isotonic pillow you have this pillow the opposite way of how I sue it ie. the thicker part under my neck (purpose for this picture to "hold"/support the neck,...
Good eye. I never thought of that. Thanks for watching. We are going on a Celebrity cruise in a couple of weeks and I’m going to request the different pillows to try them out.
Before you bid on a cabin, check out the price for the lowest bid. Call Celebrity and see how much it would cost to up grade to the room you want. Do a mock booking to see what's available and have a room number ready to book when you call. I upgraded from Prime Concierge to Prime Aqua for $88 total for both of us. The lowest bid was $110 each.
Im confused with you saying bid on a cabin. A bid is like an auction to me. But when booking a cabin with this cruise line you dont name your own price. Please help a newbie. :)
Browse through the stateroom options and put in an offer (bid) based on the amount you're willing to pay for an upgrade for each stateroom option. Making offers on multiple rooms will increase your chances of getting upgraded, but you'll only ever pay for one upgrade. Here is a link to the info Celebrity offers for their Move Up program. www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade
More interest in the vibe on how not spending any money onboard the cruise ship.. Never buy a drink or wifi package, Anything on board that needs extra payment, such as specialty restaurant, should be avoided.
In the last two years I have been on NCL Breakaway, Getaway and Sky, (Caribbean), HAL Koningsdam, (solo Alaska), and Celebrity Edge, (solo transatlantic). I have been actively avoiding RC because of their 'dynamic pricing' nonsense. Love solo, love Alaska, and transatlantic cruises. NCL and HAL are good, Celebrity is the best.
You are living the life! I’m excited to sail on Celebrity in a couple of weeks. We are on a millennium class ship which will be very different from the Edge, but I’m still excited. I want to bring viewers my perspective on an older ship. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Sailing!🛳️🚢😊
I read that all room service is $9.95. I like to get coffee in the morning through room service but I’m not going to pay $10 bucks for a cup of coffee every morning. We cruise in a couple of days.
www.celebritycruises.com/nz/faqs/faq-fragments/enjoying-your-cruise-fragments/room-service. Check out this link regarding complimentary continental breakfast.
