    Just signed on with headway. This was very great information. I will definitely be getting a fully built out EHR after this.

    Headway: client has to put card; Alma: suggests client puts card but if client doesn’t then you are responsible to make sure they pay copays/deductibles other Alma will eventually take it out from your pay.

    How does it work when a client late cancels or no-shows? I'm reading on their website that therapists would be responsible for collecting that

    • @matthewryanLCSW
      @matthewryanLCSW  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats right. If someone late cancels or no shows, you are responsible for collecting that. It's quite simple to charge the late fee as you would with any other platform, but you have the control about whether or not you charge a fee. It will not be done for you automatically. Hope this info helps.

    Hi Matt. Thank you for this video and your helpful articulations. Since you have worked with both ALMA and Headway, would you be able to provide any information about which you prefer overall? Or what the advantages and drawbacks are of each? Thank you!

    • @matthewryanLCSW
      @matthewryanLCSW  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Kristy,
      To be honest they have different strengths and weaknesses. I find ALMA is a better overall platform however lacks the ability to manage a group practice. I only use Headway for group practice management. If I was just a solo provider, I would probably stick with ALMA only

    Alma's monthly membership is pretty significant compared to Headway. I am already happily utilizing Simple Practice and am only looking for support w/ credentialing, billing and referrals. Curious if you think in this case Alma is still worth the price? Thanks for your helpful info.

    • @matthewryanLCSW
      @matthewryanLCSW  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Kelly. It will really depend on one factor and that is how many referrals you get per month from ALMA and compare the revenue generate to the cost per month. Even if you get one referral per month and they are seen 3-4 times, you have profited off the cost of ALMA significantly. I hope this makes sense

    Just tried to sign up with Alma but they have made a change in June 2023 which does not allow Group practices to join. What would you suggest as an alternative for the credentialing part and ins claims submitting.

    • @matthewryanLCSW

      Hi Rebecca,
      You can either go with Headway or you can be credentialed on your own and learn how to submit claims through your EHR.

    As a Group Practice Owner do you use one of these platforms? Headway doesn't accept some Insurances. Is it good to be both independent and use the platforms to increase the type of Insurance you can accept?

    Can you be OON and utilize Alma and Headway for private pay? Word on the street in my area is you don’t have to take insurance to utilize their platform to gain private pay clients. My thoughts were that they may be referring to an offering like Mentaya for superbill options. Can you speak to this?

    • @matthewryanLCSW
      @matthewryanLCSW  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there. The way I understand the platforms like ALMA and Headway are that they are a set of tools you can use for your practice. Some people use the insurance tool while others do not. I do think some clinicians use ALMA simply for the directory and keep clients as self pay.

      Its not so much about ALMA and Headway, but more so about your licensing boards telehealth rules and the laws around where a clinician needs to be and where a client needs to be.
