Summary I am not judging this as a game, it's a bit like when I reviewed Senuas sacrifice or the Game of thrones telltale game, it's about the story, characters, acting, voice and immersion and this game has it all in spades. I really connected with the characters in this game as they reflected real world people and society. If I reviewed this for gameplay it would be a 1/10 thumb down but it's not about the combat or movement it's about the story, the decisions and the consequences. It's these things that keep you hooked as each one has an impact on the future and many overlap into other characters story lines. The game is designed to be played through multiple times, when my first play through ended the second one began 15 mins later, you want to see how each character could do things better, could you save a life, could you kill them etc it's a great adventure and it's nice to see story driven games evolve from telltale like games to amazing looking games like this.
Mack, are you using new audio software? I noticed it's different. Your music on this one is brilliant, it's an absolutely beautiful track (though I am a big sucker for this sort of music). Great job on the music!
Even tho I'm a ps4 fanboy and I love this game to death for its story but even I can admit that it's not worth 60$ but this is the best choice driven game I've ever played in my oppinion because unlike most choice driven games where most choices don't matter here most choices do matter and I think that is done amazing
Worth A Buy, I have both, no need to feel sorry for me. Fanboys are the losers! PS4 had a major lull of games earlier in the gen, for quite some time. Xbox's time will come, I'm sure. Plus I get to play the best version of Red Dead Redemption 2 on X1X. And let's be honest, it'll inevitably be the best game of the year. Great review Mack, I'm thoroughly enjoying Detroit on Pro, easily Quantic Dreams best game. Captivating story and amazing visuals, Sony have teased these games for years, great to see them not disappoint. My gut feeling is Spider-man will be even better. Uncharted 4 is a must play Mack. If you can overcome your fear of controllers you will enjoy it.
Chocolate Rain Its a good game but people were *very* pissed that they made it a 'Prey' when it could've been a new IP entirely. People enjoyed the originals and didn't like the fact they wouldn't get a sequel. And the developers of prey recently teased DLC on their twitter!
Well now that cod has no campaign they can go fuck themselves. I had already given up on cod because I prefer single player story driven games like God of War and Uncharted and even Detroit so I hopped off the bro shooter train years ago. They clearly don't care about me any seeing as how they scrapped the single player campaign.
Great review! So tired of seeing biased reviews because it's either A. a David Cage game, or B. lackluster gameplay and story driven. But it's impossible to deny that the quality of this game is phenomenal, and seems to enthrall most people who play it, causing them to become very invested in the characters and the story. It's not perfect, but it delivers an incredible experience that is well worth a buy!
fat4eyes Right? I personally loved this game but I already knew what the controls are gonna be like from other Quantic Dreams games. Mack normally shits on the controls of every console game even ones that are smooth are clunky to him so to hear him not annihilate this game over the controls shows you how good the story and immersivesness of the game is.
Just finished my first playthrough on PC and my oh my, the graphics, the story on this game. It’s such a shame that games like this had to lock away to general public because of the console exclusivity.
I see Angry Joe giving this game a 7/10. Then I see Mac upload review on a console only, cut scene filled game with stupid qtes and I was damn sure it was going to be a thumb down. So I watch the first half of the video, hearing praises, I'm still waiting for that classic Mac's plot twist where later on in the video, after praising it for the first few minutes he'd ring the bell and start shitting all over the game......... But damn, that never came.
Angry Joe's a bit more of a personality now than a true reviewer, and what he does review is done at such a kitschy level now. I personally dropped him for Mac and ACG.
Honestly, westworld is pretty shallow compared to this. Westworld is all about timeline shenanigans and silly plot twists. While detroit explores actual themes and shows character development. Its hard to care about any WW robot, while this game's robots feel really fleshed out.
Callahad You should start watching again, it’s really picked up in the last few episodes, especially episodes 4 and 7. Hopkins may or may not be back btw.
It's literally an interactive movie, I watched RadBrad play the entire thing on his channel and have NO desire to play it what-so-ever, just my opinion though
well of course you wouldnt, you have had the game spoiled for you as youve basically experienced it already in a big way by watching someone else play through it.... the fact you watched an entire play through of it though suggests you were actually interested ;) LOL
I watched 2 episodes and said to myself would I want to spend £50 on this? I answered myself no, purely because as I said it was more of a movie than a game and it just didn't seem as re-playable as something else I could spend the money on. So yeah...I watched the entire thing, saved £50, and felt like I got everything I wanted to get out of it out of it...lol
This games greatest strength is getting the player emotionally attached to the characters through difficult decisions that have consequence. Why an earth would you strip yourself of that decision making by watching someone else play?
Go shove your wonky PS4 controller up your sub-4K non-UHD Bluray Drive. Sony has some great games, but do they have any good shooters? No. Do they have anything comparable to Forza Horzion 3? No. I pity the fools who think owning a PS4 gets you the best of everything, because that would be a bold faced lie. Xbox X plays the best version of all third party games (which make up 99% of the gaming market), and gets you access to hundreds of amazing games you'll never play on PS4 (both current gen Xbox exclusive and Backward Compatible titles). Even if Microsoft shut down their entire first party game development program Xbox X would STILL be the best console on the market.
I still have a base Xbox One too, and it sees plenty of use as both a standard Bluray drive and for playing games on the spare TV. Now that Halo:MCC is getting LAN support I'm pretty sure I'll be using it for that as well, just like the good old days when I had two Xbox 360's. Fact is anyone promoting the base PS4 but putting down the base Xbox One is just a hypocrite. PS4 doesn't hold any power advantage (for the money Xbox X is THE best value in graphics hardware on the market, bar none), and Microsoft has TONS of amazing exclusive games that Sony can't even begin to compete with.
just going through another playthrough again, I still can't believe how much I have missed and other paths to do, and each characters story intertwines at points. I love it to be honest. Really gets you thinking about the morals behind this. Watching Westworld at the same time really does lol
Am I the only one who finds the forever controversial topic that androids may or may not be human a boring and pointless story? Boring because it always leads to more questions that go nowhere and pointless because it's really just up to each individual to decide for themselves what they want to believe about it.
Don't have a PS4, but I watched a playthrough of this. Usually I really don't like these types of Choose your own adventure cutscene games, but I gotta say this really hooked me. Great story and great characters... Would have made a great mini series. :)
Control and constant quick time events killed this game for me. Opening sequence with the cop android was brilliant, then you go to cleaning up a house.
Recently got this in a Steam sale for the PC. I really like it, very immersive stories and amazing graphics (and sound). I just wish the developers would fix the crashes, tho if I play at 30 fps crashes are rare.
Mack, I've been watching this channel for years and Mack's corner! I've based my purchases of games on your reviews..You have the persona of your mate telling you wether a game is worth a buy or not down the pub. Trustful, honest and straight to the point. Please don't stop what you are doing!
This is vastly superior to the Telltale games. This game has multiple choices and directions to go in which actually make a difference, unlike the usual Telltale con job. 10/10 from me.... an incredible game with a need to replay to see some of the many endings and routes which exist. Whole different stories unfold with each play.. simply wonderful!
hey Mack, will you ever bring back mackscorner? A lot of us miss those vids and they're simply hidden right now. Please Mack... open up that time capsule. Mackscorner is treasure to us.
I think one reason they make even the fighting "mechanic" so simple is so that even i a 35 year old gamer can introduce gaming to my 60 year old parents, reach out to wider market... That's just one example really... If you love movies they just need to provide a good story...
If Interactive Movie was an actual, recognized medium with its own marketplaces and audiences; this would not have clunky movement controls and QTEs. Designers would have realized years ago that only the decisions matter, not a vague sense of constantly doing unnecessary things. Maybe we'll get there eventually.
@Draycole Do you want human extinction? Treating non-human creatures as you would humans is how you go extinct. The greatest threat to humanity is the existence of any other species of significant levels of sentience or any artificial being with any level of simulated/false sentience. These threats if they exist or will ever exist need to be neutralized which would require not treating them as we would ourselves; being cautious towards them, being defensive in our interactions with them, and making sure we gain and or retain authority over them. In this way not only would our security be ensured with regards to their threat but they could also be utilized to help progress *human* civilization.
the main issue with this game is that act as if androids are human. First of all they're a threat because they're genuinely superior to humans in every way, and second they were created by humans in order to be better than them. Treating an android like a human is stupid, because they just aren't
In Mack we trust, we all know he doesn't love a console game, but respects a console game when it deserves it. Big love, laughing all the way through every video, yet still informed
Mack liking a story game where you can't do anything da faq? REAL MACK RESPONSE: " Want to paint a picture guys? Well you fucking can't guys you get to PRESS a button!" Ding ding ding! " "qte after qte" ding ding ding!!!
Might get this one when the price drops, I do sometimes fancy a nice casual story based game every now and again. Heavy Rain (which is a free game at the moment on the PS Store) is a game that I'm actually curious if you would do a review of that one day? Then again, it is a remaster of a PS3 game so I would not blame you if you would not be interested in giving it a review. I'm curious mostly because that game and Detroit Become Human are made by the same developers. Great review as always, Mack! They are always entertaining.
I'm playing this now after all this time and I thought I would go back and see what Mack had to say. Yeah, the controls are a bit annoying. Just trying to open a door doesn't work a lot of the time. But the graphics look better than today's A plus games and you do care about your characters. So I'm happy to see Mack liked it. I heard there are 85 endings because each decision you make or how you play the game matters
I borrowed DBH off a friend a few days after it came out but only had time for a playthrough before I had to give it back and I really wanted to play more to see how different things could be? So I'm really happy Sony gave it us PS Plus subscribers this month! :) I'm going to play through at least 2x now there's no rush, Macks right the graphics are phenomenal it really makes u think about how optimised exclusive games for consoles can be, for all the underpowered talk when u see a game like this running on console u can't help but be very impressed and see the benefits of devs taking full advantage of the set specs on consoles, really well optimised.
Just goes to show how good graphically consoles can be to pc. This stacks up to any pc game graphically. Consoles are definitely closing that gap even though a majority of games on pc doesn't look that impressive.
When I heard you say "an actor that should turn up in this" I have to make a guess before I find out... POTENTIAL SPOILER! Is it Michael Fassbender by any chance?
This game does sound great for what it is and what it is trying to do. The I have with these kind of games though is that it's more of a interactive movie of sorts where you sit back and I really don't think it should be £40-£50 or whatever considering there is no real gameplay, no real mechanics etc. Therefore it's not like there can even be many bugs in this sort of thing. Price tags for interactive movie's should be a lot cheaper, then I would actually love to purchase them.
Wow Mack, I was really looking forward to this review for just over a week, and I honestly thought you were going to dislike it and roast the shit out of it... But, damn, this review was way better than that could've been.
demonpride1975 I would rather it was a larger system that made less noise than what we have right now. I have to turn up the volume to not get a headache on some games.
Take your ps4 to someone who can clean it and change the termal paste, thats why its sounds so loud, the termal paste must be in a really bad state and the accumulation of dust forcing the fans to work harder, i did it 3 day ago and it sounds so quietly.
I've done this once a year and the noise does go down for a while but then after a few weeks it's back to being a jet engine again as the cooling system is inefficient. I have 3 systems in my house and all my friends seem to have the same issue. I also have an Xbox One over the same amount of time which made basically no noise and I actually would rather use that console if it actually had any games.
The day when these games finally break the lock and figure out how to make combat on these games good is when these games will be close to perfect. But right now it's a tradeoff that has to be made; great review once again.
Honestly, if your past reviews on console games are anything to go by, there is a good chance you would be ranting about the gamepad controls if it were more fleshed out. It was probably a good thing it was kept simplistic.
Sony continues to piss on Telltale by producing yet another product that is leagues better over their Telltale's trash. With Until Dawn, Beyond 2 Souls, and now this, there's no question that the PS 4 is the system to have if you like this genre. They also have Bloodborne and the new God of War game. They've been murdering the fuck out of Microsoft, from every direction. What does Microsoft have? Sea of thieves? (chuckle) I don't even like this genre. I prefer to play video games, not pay 60$ for a TV show in video game form. But there's no denying that theirs are top of the market, vs Telltale's shit at the bottom of the barrel. From the graphics, stories, characters, they are uncontested with this genre. But the "games" are definitely more expensive, so you get what you pay for.
the sound, visuals, and writing are top-notch, but it's basically a $40 movie because although your choices matter, it's a very linear game with a story that's roughly 20 hours long. I wouldn't pay anything over $20 for it, but that's just me.
im guessing that you pressed some other setting than anyone else ever because in every fight scene i saw i could see that you had to move your controller up and down, left and right, tilt it and it would do something
I will more then likely buy a PS4 just for this game. I've watched 10-11hr plays, but there's far too much. Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully you'll sell it on ebay (because I'm cheap =] ).
Mack if you love this game you have to buy heavy rain. This game is from the same dev and has also a great story with many outcomes. I know it's a older game but it's still great.
Yeah, it really is the narrative and decisions that makes it worth getting. The QTE combat is alright as far as QTEs go, because they're really so simple that it's easy to focus on what's happening and not just stare at the button prompts like a lot of other games.
You clearly have seen nothing about the game itself. "oh the humas have created androids so they can do everything for them, oh the androids have feelings, humans are bad" thats what yor tiny mind can offer?
Not really. It's more the stories of each character and watching them grow. (Except Kara, really.) It's very well acted so it's easy to get attached, and there's a ton of ways the story can go for each character. It's no masterpiece, but it's a very good "game". No need to be an ass.
I don't see how it is any different to the game "A Way Out" it is basically the same thing, looks fancy but the entire thing is press X to do this or hold it. Granted the story in that was shite and this was better but other than that they are very similar, at least I think they need to invent a new genre called Interactive Experiences, which this would fall into. Because much like a movie you care about the story, the ending, the characters.... there is pretty much no gameplay involved so why call it a game? holding a controller and pressing buttons does not mean it is a game there are interactive things to buy for a TV which involve pressing buttons on the remote and making decisions but they are not games, I don't know I hope the gaming industry doesn't go down this route of realism and movie like games, we need fun, gameplay filled games that require skill and challenge. I just find it really hard to look at this and call it a game because I'm not seeing any characteristics of one in it. I'm not bashing Detroit I actually liked it a lot it's just not a game imo
But David Cage it is only the director and writer, not the game designer. Graphic Adventures and Interactive movie games are meant to enjoy narrative and story, the gameplay design it is the same across other games from the same sub genre since the 80's.
Tried the demo. First demo in years where I felt compelled to go back again and again to see what would happen with different choices. The graphics make my GTX10180-equipped PC look like shit in comparison, and that's on a base PS4.
Come on Mack! What’s happened to you? This isn’t a game it’s a barely interactive story. Sod the spoilers the bloody flowcharts are available at the start of each chapter so anyone with half a brain can pre-determine all the outcomes. I actually liked the vibe for a little until the Cage cliches, god awful dialogue & social justice balloonery started to kick in leaving me scoffing at it. “Immersive characters” are U effing kidding me? The only passable one was Hank.
Summary

Spot on, man. This is the sort of commentary I come here for. Keep up all the good work. I'm sold on this one
Man when you complete the game did you find out what Alice is?
Another great review Mack
Mack, are you using new audio software? I noticed it's different. Your music on this one is brilliant, it's an absolutely beautiful track (though I am a big sucker for this sort of music). Great job on the music!

"Life like androids have replaced the human workforce" EA.
If you are a PS4 owner then you have had a great year so far, if you are an Xbox owner, you have my commiserations.
Seems like a great story but I just hate the "press X. press O" kind of gameplay. Honestly reminds me of call of duty campaigns.
Worth A Buy sony is making a monopoly by creating a great games lol
Worth A Buy my Xbox was stolen a month ago... I was really mad but maybe I should see it as a opportunity to switch to ps 😏
Rb - I feel sorry for the thief.
Jk Jk.

Fyi I just tried Prey because of you. That game is criminally underrated. You're a legend.
Chocolate Rain. Still preying for DLC
The Trooper lol I see what you did there ;) well done
Chocolate Rain Its a good game but people were *very* pissed that they made it a 'Prey' when it could've been a new IP entirely. People enjoyed the originals and didn't like the fact they wouldn't get a sequel.
And the developers of prey recently teased DLC on their twitter!
Prey best game of the last few years
+The Trooper, it's incoming.
Man. You went from someone I’d occasionally watch to my go to for reviews. Insightful, consistent, extremely entertaining. Thanks man.
Mack and Rabbit would make the best buddy cop film
Starsky and Rabbit Hutch ;)
Who would be top billed tho? 🤔 Rabbit I assume
It's been done already...'Sam and Max hit the road', LucasArts.
callum mitchell I'd watch it.
I’ve got to hand it to Sony. They’re putting out games I actually want to play. So I can pass on games like cod and bf
True. I didn't have time to touch my pc since I tried yakuza series
Well now that cod has no campaign they can go fuck themselves. I had already given up on cod because I prefer single player story driven games like God of War and Uncharted and even Detroit so I hopped off the bro shooter train years ago. They clearly don't care about me any seeing as how they scrapped the single player campaign.
same they are the biggest reason why i even care about video games
Spiderman in 3 months. Xbox guys are gonna be crying. They already are calling Sony anti consumer for not making Spiderman multiplat. 😂😂😂😂
Great review!
So tired of seeing biased reviews because it's either A. a David Cage game, or B. lackluster gameplay and story driven.

fat4eyes Right? I personally loved this game but I already knew what the controls are gonna be like from other Quantic Dreams games. fat4eyes this is the Mackdroid, Mack is taking a break.
Yeah, this thing was garbage in my opinion, but max isn't always consistent.
his mind isn't right from all the sex he's having with his new maid bot.
I guess you haven't watched his Walking Dead Playthrough on Mackscorner. Go watch it, it's great.. Oh wait, you can't. R.I.P. Mackscorner.
Telltale should take notes from this game
Dwayne Johnson i heard telltale is fucked nowadays
uwais qarani Telltale used to be my favorite game studio but now there releasing nothing but shit
Dwayne Johnson I thought that Batman S2 was a lot better than Detroit personally. Though Telltale have released some shit
do you think they can do the same? because they don't have a big company like sony giving funds to the develoment of the game
Nah. Telltale is pretty much dead. There are better studios out there making far better interactive story games than them.
Just finished my first playthrough on PC and my oh my, the graphics, the story on this game. It’s such a shame that games like this had to lock away to general public because of the console exclusivity.

I'd rather buy winrar.
This games greatest strength is getting the player emotionally attached to the characters through difficult decisions that have consequence. Why an earth would you strip yourself of that decision making by watching someone else play?
1 minute of silence for our fallen brothers and sisters who have an xbox one and not a ps4..
mehdi anverali idk why they don't have both
One moment of silence for the hope for every Fanboy (Xbox, PS4, Nintendo, etc.) to get Lucille'd.

Your reviews are getting better and better, more power to you, Sir!
Lovin the new haircut, Yong
Ah i see you're man of a culture.
Yeah
Please explain this?? 😂
James Smith a guy that hosts gaming news channel called yongyea
I'll see you guys next time, MMMMMMMACK OUT
Mack genuinely liking a freaking David Cage game? Is this a dream? Nightmare? *Is this even reality?!*
This game is basically just Heavy Rain gameplay wise. If you've played that game this will feel very similar.
just going through another playthrough again, I still can't believe how much I have missed and other paths to do, and each characters story intertwines at points. I love it to be honest. Really gets you thinking about the morals behind this. Watching Westworld at the same time really does lol

Boring because it always leads to more questions that go nowhere and pointless because it's really just up to each individual to decide for themselves what they want to believe about it.
Great game, the part about replaying the game is totally true. Lots of tough decisions to make during the game.
That's two ps4 exclusives you've liked mack this and God of war Sony must be doing something right
They are, and their monthly games this year have been incredible! Xcom 2 this month
Xbox is kinda...bad...it takes a day to make a account
Stephen Searles Sony's exclusives are mostly excellent as well as correctly optimised.
Don't have a PS4, but I watched a playthrough of this. Usually I really don't like these types of Choose your own adventure cutscene games, but I gotta say this really hooked me. Great story and great characters... Would have made a great mini series. :)
Wouldn’t say this is a game more like a interactive movie
"Interactive movie" So a game?
If it is a game Martin tell me about all the Gameplay that it has?
Every game is an interactive movie.
Thanks for the most honest, unbiased, funny, and downright entertaining game reviews on TH-cam.
Honestly thought he was gonna roast the shit outta this one but looks surprisingly compelling definitely interested in this one after watching this
Man...This is the most beautiful review I have seen lol
I cannot believe that wab is actually liking a story game for once. Nice. Now I have to get this
Control and constant quick time events killed this game for me. Opening sequence with the cop android was brilliant, then you go to cleaning up a house.

Where was the option at the end for 'BRING BACK MACKSCORNER!'???
This is vastly superior to the Telltale games. IMO, a 10 hour game for $60 USD is not worth a buy. Sorry, there's just not enough there. $20-$30, yes. $60 NO.
Thats the thing it's designed to be replayed, quite unique really, I think 3 or 4 times.
There's about 55 endings (including deaths). Worth a buy now?
Man Mack, I was skeptical of this game, but based on this I might actually give it a try
I think one reason they make even the fighting "mechanic" so simple is so that even i a 35 year old gamer can introduce gaming to my 60 year old parents, reach out to wider market... That's just one example really... If you love movies they just need to provide a good story...
60$ for a playable movie, no thanks.
interactive movie, game movie?
You should visit the visual novel market selling for about $80 per game .. well some of it... mostly the good ones
Playable more like REPlayable
Please, we don't need players as ignorant as you. Go back to playing cod.
RepkotoGaming Don't speak for other people :)
Androids want human rights and freedom? Wow, what a great original concept.
I just hope no one becomes delusional due to this and actually starts believing that this should be the case.
Darken De la Espada Agreed
@Draycole
Do you want human extinction? Treating non-human creatures as you would humans is how you go extinct. The greatest threat to humanity is the existence of any other species of significant levels of sentience or any artificial being with any level of simulated/false sentience.
These threats if they exist or will ever exist need to be neutralized which would require not treating them as we would ourselves; being cautious towards them, being defensive in our interactions with them, and making sure we gain and or retain authority over them. In this way not only would our security be ensured with regards to their threat but they could also be utilized to help progress *human* civilization.
Darken De la Espada liberals in 2300 in a nutshell
the main issue with this game is that act as if androids are human. First of all they're a threat because they're genuinely superior to humans in every way, and second they were created by humans in order to be better than them. Treating an android like a human is stupid, because they just aren't
Graphically the game looks amazing, but there's something about the graphics that make it look unnatural and I'm struggling to put my finger on it.
Whaaaatt
They gave all characters their own style so maybe it's the filters and lighting
In Mack we trust, we all know he doesn't love a console game, but respects a console game when it deserves it. Big love, laughing all the way through every video, yet still informed
compare your outcome in the playground :D
Quite funny having the plot explained in a geordie accent
1:20 Thought the pool was full of blood for a moment there.
But, no, it seems like that is just the color of the floor/inside of the pool
This game is worth a buy 10/10 it's bloody brilliant
Mack liking a story game where you can't do anything da faq? REAL MACK RESPONSE: " Want to paint a picture guys? Well you fucking can't guys you get to PRESS a button!" Ding ding ding! " "qte after qte" ding ding ding!!!
Really surprised to see a thumbs up for this one mack but understand your reasoning just didn't expect you to be into it
Might get this one when the price drops, I do sometimes fancy a nice casual story based game every now and again.
When is your playthrough channel coming back?
Nice review Mack! Spot on mate! You got to fight the dancing girl.....
Well well! Didn't see you liking this. Great review as always. Wasn't interested before, will keep an eye out for it now. Sounds good.
Definitely worth a buy a brief summary of this review
I borrowed DBH off a friend a few days after it came out but only had time for a playthrough before I had to give it back and I really wanted to play more to see how different things could be? So I'm really happy Sony gave it us PS Plus subscribers this month! :) I'm going to play through at least 2x now there's no rush, Macks right the graphics are phenomenal it really makes u think about how optimised exclusive games for consoles can be, for all the underpowered talk when u see a game like this running on console u can't help but be very impressed and see the benefits of devs taking full advantage of the set specs on consoles, really well optimised.
So you're hinting Kevin Spacey will be back in his exo-suit.
Just goes to show how good graphically consoles can be to pc. This stacks up to any pc game graphically. Consoles are definitely closing that gap even though a majority of games on pc doesn't look that impressive.
When I heard you say "an actor that should turn up in this"
I have to make a guess before I find out...
POTENTIAL SPOILER!
Is it Michael Fassbender by any chance?
Nice review. I don't know if this or COD has more cinematics though.
The fans on the PS4 sound like a train wish they would use higher quality parts
when it comes to fans, it's not about the quality in the ps4, as they are a good brand of fans. the problem is the angel of the the fan blades.
Yeah, demonic possession is far more discreet and makes far less noise than those preachy, sanctimonious fucking angels
demonpride1975 I would rather it was a larger system that made less noise than what we have right now.
Wow, not what I expected at all. Glad you enjoyed it.
Didn't fallout 4 also have problems with tone when communicating with others?
best cinematic feeling at home. no game can top that, even hollywood cant.
I love how you have Sub-Rants in the middle of another Rant lol.
Never change.
Thought you were going to thumb this down. Suprised. I'll buy but only after a price drop.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it, Mack.
Reallly good review, Mack.
I watched the wife play through this several times. It was worth the wait. Damn its gorgeous.
If this game was around £30 then I'd buy it now, as the stories of the characters looks pretty good. I'll deff pick this up when it's around £10.
On my second playthrough of this. I love it, and I think it is a step up in every department from Quantic Dream's earlier games.
The game is WAB... is it still WAB if you need to get the PS4 as well? :/ I really wish exclusives weren't a thing.
Michael Kreitzer why wouldn't you have a PS4 by now? Most of the best games of the past 5 years have been coming out on the PS4.
I have more "best games" than I can handle as it is. No reason to add another platform to the list. :D
Michael Kreitzer what platform do you have?
PC
Go back to playing ur Microsoft words and excels lol
Connors story arc is my favorite.
Especially if you stick with his original objective and make him a terminator.
the sound, visuals, and writing are top-notch, but it's basically a $40 movie because although your choices matter, it's a very linear game with a story that's roughly 20 hours long.
I think its way more than 10 hrs per 1 playthrough, maybe its 10 hrs if you know everything already and had your first playthrough
Mack was it Harrison Ford showing up as Deckard? That would be awesome!
Did not expect you to like this one. I loved the story as well, all of them were interesting. Connor + Hank was amazing though.
Mack if you love this game you have to buy heavy rain. This game is from the same dev and has also a great story with many outcomes. I know it's a older game but it's still great.
God I love this channel, listening to Mack loose his mind about shit is so entertaining to watch, and almost always is deserved
Why is it only foreigners & millennials spell lose as loose?
Answers on a postcard plz 😁 👍
You really must've enjoyed the differing stories and decision-making to overcome QTE combat. Honestly looks awful.
Yeah, it really is the narrative and decisions that makes it worth getting. The QTE combat is alright as far as QTEs go, because they're really so simple that it's easy to focus on what's happening and not just stare at the button prompts like a lot of other games.
the narrative? LOL. "androids r gud humans r bad lul!"
Cutscenes? QTE's? And its worthabuy?
Surprised you liked this so much Mac .. due to people complaining about lack of control, but I will take a look. Value your reviews :)
It seems like a unique idea, but I wish the gameplay was better
But David Cage it is only the director and writer, not the game designer. Graphic Adventures and Interactive movie games are meant to enjoy narrative and story, the gameplay design it is the same across other games from the same sub genre since the 80's.
Tried the demo. First demo in years where I felt compelled to go back again and again to see what would happen with different choices. The graphics make my GTX10180-equipped PC look like shit in comparison, and that's on a base PS4.
Watched a playthrough of this game on LSD and it really messed with my head. Great experience.
Brendan 60 dollar is a chance for this game.
What's that song in the background around 4:30?
It's an interactive movie, nothing more.
And the best among others so far.
FINAL_B absolutely, the child abuse is really what gamers need
manbearpig58246 1 lol you can’t handle something that’s rated M? Go play Super Mario you snowflake
Dwayne Johnson you don't make games from child abuse dude ,it normalizes it not criminalized it .
It clearly portrayed the abusive father as a Criminal. If anything, it sheds more light on such a problem in today's society.
I liked hearing you express your happiness in this one.
Man, as many of your videos I watch you would think I was a subscriber. Apparently I never hit the button (oops!). I am now subscribed :-)
Legend Mack, keep givin it to them devs!
Nice review Mack!
hahah Yeh, my conner got destroyed by a harvester when I was chasing the criminal he is after.
