    Wow, these Legends devices are really interesting! So mich potential for retro gaming with real Arcade feeling.
    Thanks for showing are these possibilities with this device Jon. I wish they were a bit cheaper. For me this is pit of budget.
    But nice review, as always Jon :)

      It worked really well and the ability to add your own games on a USB drive makes it well-worth the price.. Similar products I've seen don't do nearly as much as this and costs more, require a PC/Pi4, etc. I'm really happy with this purchase. Thank you for watching my friend!

    when gamestop cut the price to 50 bucks, I knew I had to acquire me one!! the built in games are fun for sure (a few I definitely love having on there) but if you can figure out the BYOG stuff on the PC side the sky's almost the limit for adding addtional games! (I think the highest it can do is CPS2 stuff like the D&D games) I do also occasionally set the stick up in MAME and it plays like a dream there too! definitely thinking about getting the pinball upgrade as I have a few pinball fx3 tables on steam so it would be fun to play it that way.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For $50, the Gamer Mini is an incredible value. You can do so much with it, it's great for anyone who loves retro games (in my opinion). Not sure if you're using BYOG exclusively or CoinOpsX, if not using CoinOpsX please see this section of the guide: wagnerstechtalk.com/algm/#CoinOpsX It makes things really nice. There is also a vertical-only version of CoinOpsX here: wagnerstechtalk.com/al-coinopsxv/ you may also enjoy (fewer games, but artwork looks better for vertical games). The Pinball button kit is great and makes it nice for playing pinball games. However the button kit is $50. Sometimes you can find it for ~$25 during NOD events (National Owner's Day) which typically occurs in Feb. or Sept.

    I think Atgames should take their ALU and add the rotating screen on that. Atgames Legend Mini is to expensive in what your getting but the screen rotating is awesome because a lot of the games that came out a was design for vertical. I will pass on the Mini it doesn't have track ball and spinners in which some of the games require to play. Thanks for your great video.

      Hi Rush, I actually asked AtGames the same thing (for a Gamer Mini with a trackball). They were receptive to the idea, but no such product exists. For a trackball, at present, the only solutions are the Gamer Pro and the Legends Ultimate.

    Thanks for this Wagner. I hope they decide to make a version for the A1up's like Intec Gaming did with their product for the Switch, although I don't think their price is fully justified unless they included iL/Happ or Sanwa sticks and buttons. I have a feeling that this AtGames product has better sticks and buttons than the Intec, but I haven't heard any direct comparisons as yet. Ideally, I'd like to see an ultimate extended 1 player to add to an A1up that has ability for fighting games (8-btn), a trackball and spinner and tron/flight stick to play almost any genre. I don't know if it's feasible or possible for such an a1up but it would be cool if possible.

      The games play very well, I didn't have any issues with latency. Of course, for the best pinball experience I do prefer playing on the Legends Pinball machine (guide here: wagnerstechtalk.com/alp ). But the Gamer Mini can be picked up cheap at GameStop right now (~$50 USD). If you wind up getting one, I'd recommend a TAITO or Zaccaria volume to start with and see how you like them. They play MUCH better than the Gottlieb tables.

    Hello, I have this particular unit and have enjoyed it to a point. I managed to do a saucy build with 4.5 using a 128 GB SD card and the USB adapter however I have tried to upgrade to one of a newer saucy additions with a 128 GB thumb drive and my unit seems to disable or damage the thumb drive. I’ve tried this with a few different drives and the result is the same. The 128 GB thumb drive becomes unusable when I plug it into any PC Mac or Linux box afterwards. The legends game or mini does not recognize the USB drive either. Firmware is up-to-date. I am thinking of just returning it for a replacement. I was wondering if you may have any thoughts? AtGames has not been a help as they keep referring to my problem as a third party app issue when I haven’t even employed the driveX feature on these thumb drives.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi James, I've not encountered any issues using this method: wagnerstechtalk.com/al-coinopsx . I actually cloned an existing USB drive I was using on my ALU, then formatted the 1st partition using Flash Drive X and all has been working fine. I'm not sure exactly how your thumb drive is setup, but I've not received any negative feedback on this guide so far. May want to give it a try, you will want to use FDX as mentioned here to download additional tables/apps but it can all be done on a single USB stick. Please give it a try and let me know how it goes. Note - I've performed the same on the ALU, ALP, Gamer Mini and Legends Ultimate Mini.

    • @thumpdrum
      @thumpdrum 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WagnersTechTalk well, that’s the problem. I’ve done one of this successfully once before with the SD card adapter. When I prep the usb with the recommended partitions, all the copying and the AddX tool, when I plug in the usb to the disc, I never get the opportunity to utilize FDX. My AGM doesn’t acknowledge that a usb drive was plugged in. It acknowledges the usb charging cable to the control deck and the SD card to USB adapter but fries all other USB thumb drives. I think I am returning the unit for an exchange. I love what I can do with it, with the SD card adapter but don’t like the destructive streak.

    overall this game sux but my wife does like to play tetris once a year or so. There were some really good arcade games in the 80's but none of them are on here. These are the crappiest games ever and most I never even seen before, the others I never wasted a quarter on in the 80's. Supposedly you can download game ROMS that you probably don't have but the process to put them on the Legends unit seems really complicated and would have to have a lot of time on your hands to figure it out. There are some games (like pinball) that it lets you download and install, but there is no option to play them. I'll give it a score of 0 out of 10.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a number of great classic games pre-installed, such as Burger Time, Bad Dudes, Bubble Bobble, Front Line, Space Invaders, etc. (full game list here: wagnerstechtalk.com/algm/#Manuals ). I can understand CoinOpsX, if it's not something you're familiar with, can be intimidating initially. But, tried to make it as easy as possible with this guide: wagnerstechtalk.com/al-coinopsx . If you don't like the included games, this machine really shines after adding a USB stick with CoinOpsX. There are places where you can buy the USB stick pre-setup for you, but I've personally never used them. The pinball tables are great, but you would need to purchase a volume pack to install/play them (TAITO Vol 1 or 3 is what I would recommend) and the pinball buttons for a better experience. Given what you've said above, wouldn't recommend that until trying CoinOpsX first. You can connect the Arcade panel to a PC (use as a controller), stream PC games to your living room, play ArcadeNet games, etc. I do hope you give this machine a closer look before you give up on it. You'll get out of it what you put into it -JMHO

      @@WagnersTechTalk okay, maybe I will have time to try steps, I had already bookmarked that wagers site. (I have many roms for mame that I downloaded years ago.) But the unit did allow me to download and install the 5 Taito games but they are not on the list of games to play.?

      If it allowed you to download/install them (I assume we're talking about Pinball here?), it means you already have a USB stick installed on the machine. If that's the case, then go to the main "Games" tab, move down to select a game (don't press anything yet, just highlight a game). Then, press the AtGames/Menu button, on the left-hand side you'll see a list of favorites, platforms, etc. Move down to Platforms, select the TAITO Volume and press the "A" button. From there, you'll see a filtered list of just those games. Repeat the same process but select "All Games" if you want to see the full list of games again. @@WagnersTechTalk Yes, I have formatted and mounted the USB stick and installed (but I incorrectly said Taito) the zaccorian pinball tables, but to no avail, do not appear in the list of games, under platforms or otherwise. But thank you.
