The UNBEATABLE JOSHUA CHEPTEGEI || THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST DISTANCE RUNNER IN THE WORLD!

แชร์

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 19 ก.พ. 2020
  • ----
    Joshua Cheptegei is a beast, no question about it. Over the past 2 months, he's broken 2 separate world records (Road 10k - 26:38, Road 5k - 12:51) and he did it in style. Beyond this, over the past 12 months, he's won the World Cross Country Championships, he's won the World Track & Field Championships in the 10,000 meters, and he was the Diamond League Champion in the 5,000 meters, which isn't even his best distance.
    After breaking the 5k world record with an amazing time of 12:51 (2:34 / KM) on February 16, 2020, it seems as though Joshua is headed to a new level of distance running glory.
    How fast do you think this kid can run? Leave a comment!

    • @janschneider8647

      He is wearing shoes that allow people to increase running efficiency by 4%... Just making some maths 12:51 = 771 seconds 771 times 1.04 = 801.84 = 13:11.8 seconds. Only with wearing turbo spikes, he might get close to the current track WR standing at 12:37. In the case of the 10km WR, 26:38 = 1598 seconds, 1598 * 1.04 = 1661.92 = 27:41.92, far far away from 26:17.
      Amazing human running performances or amazing technological innovations? what do you want to see?

    • @tianl98765
      @tianl98765 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well on track with the spikes you have the gain of probably more than 4%.. and there is also the extra help from the ease of pacing

    The same way Kipchoge and Bekele worked their way up from shorter distances to Marathon dominating athletes, I believe Cheptegei is also going to be a powerhouse in the road marathon field. Cheptegei will continue to push the bar higher with faster times than both Kipchoge and Bekele will ever produce. Cheptegei will be the next person to set a new Marathon world record after Bekele or Kipchoge set it. I say no more than 4-5 years time. Uganda will be the proud owner of the fastest official marathon time. Kenya and Ethiopia, watch out!

    TRP. Well done. An excellent video and fantastic commentary throughout. I have previously "ranted" about it being unlikely that World Records will be broken at these Olympics. Based on observations from previous Games that end up being strategic and relatively slow, with sitters/kickers powering home over the last 400 to 1200m. But... with Cheptegei in the field, he is likely to push the pace from the front. Then anything could happen, including WR?? or kickers recording fast times by hanging on the leader. What a great Olympics to look forward to! Cheers.

    Uganda has many good runners but the government better had never put almost any efforts in supporting them but recently they started slowly to include them in the national budget. It's so hard to even make it because many good runners with a talent are poor and got no chance to even prove themselves the sport still lacks sport from the government. that’s what seemingly makes the different between the good and the great. The great all fail and get humbled at one point. However through discipline they learn from this and display their comeback power

      @@Gogalen789 Hahaha. I am quite efficient on the bike. He is crazy fast. I know it won't be physically possible for me to run exactly as fast as him, but to see him breaking so many limits is super inspiring and gives me something to strive for. Not to be that fast specifically, but to be a great runner like him.

    One interesting thing about his diet, much like most of the elite African distance runners I've noticed, is they eat a lot of meats and beans alongside fresh fruit. This is relevant for endurance athletes because meat and beans are both high in iron and fresh fruit is generally high in vitamin c. Iron is the main nutrient responsible for the bodies production of hemoglobin and eating it with a vitamin c source increases its absorption by over 65%. Hemeglobin is the component of the blood responsible for transporting oxygen so eating a diet rich in iron, that is being highly absorbed due to the vitamin c, is certainly a very effective way to maximise cardiovascular endurance.

    Maybe use some tones or beeps when changing segments and mention in the first sentence of the segment if a world record or word title is coming up. That would make it a little easier to follow for people listening in the background while working.

    I feel better about my slow runs now. I thought I ran slow but if I'm only 30 seconds more per km than Cheptegei then I could add another minute. It's hard to run slow though.
