This channel is an awesome find for me. We just moved into a house in the country, and I now have a "barn" (it's a pretty nice one, actually). I love your "Cobweb Cave"! Unfortunately, we haven't lived here long enough for me to build my own, but it is on my long-term "to-do" list. This video is so valuable to me, I have saved it to my Halloween Playlist!
Oh you got the atmosphere covered there Ghost! It reminds me of my childhood farm in central Wisconsin. We have some atmosphere on the prairie here in Colorado too.
I love The Stepfather. It's one of those movie worlds I want to crawl into, well, minus the psycho murderer of course. It reminds me of childhood and the comfort of autumn in the 80s. All those cozy sweaters and fall foliage 🧡🍁🍂
I am from the Rochester NY area. A lot of "See no Evil" was filmed around us. We saw it in the early 80's at the Theatre when it came out......ooof. You are INDEED correct, kind sir - To be quite honest, your vernacular on this "film" was very kind in comparison to what came out of our pie holes when we observed this travesty.
I remember Mystic Pizza being really popular back in the day. My September movies included Island of Terror (thanks for that recommendation), Bell, Book and Candle, The Trouble With Harry, and of course Dracula Has Risen From The Grave. Love your channel!
Dan Curtis's Dracula starring Jack Palance was the first horror film I ever saw. It aired on CBS Friday Night Movie. My folks and another couple they were friends with gathered in living room to watch Dracula with me at age 5 lol. They didn't want to watch it but Mom didn't want me to get scared. It's a very special memory for me and the movie will always be in my top 5 favorite Dracula Movies.
Heh,Daniel ...Agree with your synopsis of Stepfather with the; I feel- underappreciated Terry O'Quinn aka "John Locke"....he's been in quite the array of movies: Tombstone,Silver Bullet,The Cutting Edge,Blind Fury....I always enjoy his performances!
Another very informative video! Thank you! I recall going to see 'Fear No Evil' at the theater back in the day. I kinda liked it then, but I rewatched it about 6-months ago (on Tubi, I think) and I agreed with your assessment. It definitely does not age well! And I also greatly appreciate your praise for the great Jack Palance! So many amazing performances by him during his legendary career! Thanks again! I'd love to see your comments on the old anthology movie 'Nightmares' (1983) and ask that you'd do a list of best Western era horror movies (The Burrowers, Bone Tomahawk, etc). Always look forward to your next video!
It's thanks to you that I discovered, in one of your videos, "Something wicked this way comes". Watched a few days ago, absolutely fantastic!!! great channel and great videos!
Glad you enjoyed Cruel Britannia’s contents 😊 so much fun and wonderful to see it resurfacing...plus, totally with you on Memoirs! Love that film a lot. And NEVER apologise for bringing up Mystic Pizza. But...Beetlejuice....50 years? Ouch! Sick burn 😂
Watching this abc tv movie called the midnight hour. Not scary but totally cool and extremely nostalgic 1985. Great to have on for Halloween vibes it's fun
I recently watch the memoirs of an invisible man and was very impressed. Always been a Chevy Chase fan but had no idea about this. I definitely recommend it
Mystic Pizza is a lovely movie! I went to the actual Mystic CT last year and it’s beautiful. You can eat at the real Mystic Pizza too! Highly recommend it for a relaxing vacation. Also, you are in for a treat with Trilogy of Terror!
I was really pleasantly surprised with Memoirs of an invisible man! I'm a fan of John Carpenter and no one talks About it, but it's really fun! I had such a good time with that movie! Worth checking out. ❤

When it comes to taking your toddlers to the movies, my wife and I lucked out. We were avid moviegoers. At least once a month. Our kids never made a sound. They were awesome.
I've never heard of Hauntedween before that's one I might check out. Looking forward to your list of under seen Halloween movies I usually make a list of movies to watch from different recommendations videos like yours.
I LOVE the spookier set-up! 🎃 Also, Fear No Evil is an acquired taste for sure. Hahaha it’s gets so wild and nonsensical, but I’m a sucker for bad movies.
If you're a Jack Palance fan, I recommend 1953's Man in the Attic. I've got the DVD from MGM's midnight movies collection. If I remember correctly, he was good in this movie.
I just saw Beetlejuice 2 at the Drive-In movie theatre in Flint and the American remake of Speak No Evil played on the screen next to it. (3 screens - Double Features - Digital Projection)
Got back into watching old horror flicks after watching this show. Watched THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, THE VELVET VAMPIRE, THE BEAST MUST DIE, and WITCHFINDER GENERAL last month. Also rewatched UNHUMAN (which is a pretty good teen-scream horror flick on Amazon Prime) and THE SUBSTANCE at the movie which is more like a Troma film than the previews implied. Loved it, but I'm a Troma fan.
I remember reading about FEAR NO EVIL when I was a young un in FAMOUIS MONSTERS magazine, and it looked like it was going to be a massive hit movie. But then it never surfaced anywhere. Im sure there was a VHS release of sorts, but to date I haven't heard anyone say anything positive about the film. A real shame. I haven't been interested enough to seek it out.
Mystic Pizza was certainly a big deal when it came out. I live less than an hour from there and I’ve eaten there many times and as recently as this past summer; it’s still open and the pizza is delicious!
I like Jack Palance too. As it happens, he was a distant relative of author Chuck Palahniuk (Jack adapted his Ukrainian surname to make it more palatable in America, apparently) and I also love his books. It seems the whole family have a thing for the macabre 😂

The Stepford Wives was based on the book of the same name by Ira Levin. I recommend reading it. It's more of a novella, really so you could probably read it in one sitting. I would also recommend The Boys From Brazil by him as well. That movie was good but not as good as the book.
A FIELD IN ENGLAND is a difficult film. Despite some excellent scenes and acting, the whole thing is kind of inscrutable. The director said in an interview that all the characters are just different aspects of the same main character, which is interesting but didn't really help me understand the film better.

Ok, if you watch A Field in England, it helps to go in knowing what you're watching is essentially just one big shroom/acid trip. Lol It's bizarre af. You'll be asking yourself, "WTF" the entire runtime. It's not for everyone, but if this sounds like something you might be into, give it a go. It's definitely entertaining in it's own, unique way. 1. The Wild Robot 2. Transformers One 3. Rebel Ridge 4. My Old Ass 5. His Three Daughters 6. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 7. Speak No Evil 8. Wolfs 9. The Killer's Game
The best I have seen: A Taste of Cold Steel 1970 Murder by Contract 1958 Enter the Clones of Bruce 2023 (Documentary) Dance with the Devil (Perdita Durango) 1997 (rewatch) Swift Sword 1980 A Better Tomorrow I+II 1986/1987 Tomie 1998 (rewatch) Flower & Snake II 2005 The Killer 1989 (rewatch) Bullet in the Head 1990 A Chinese Ghost Story I-III 1987/1990/1991 The Queen of Black Magic 1981 Hard Boiled 1992 (rewatch) The Peacock King 1988 Lady with a Sword 1971 Painted Skin 1992 And just finished Journey to the West 2021, which may be one of the highlights of this year.
Everything you said about A Field in England is what I thought when I watched it 1-2 weeks ago. I kept waiting on the story and it never appeared. I enjoyed the cinematography, the characters, and what I thought, was a call back to Shakespearean plays. But I honestly don’t understand the rave reviews and people calling it a masterpiece. I’m a writer myself and if there isn’t a compelling and well constructed narrative then I’m out. I don’t always have to have that and can enjoy silly funny movies but if a movie is trying to be something and it’s receiving high praise then I’m going to expect more. And where was the horror? For me there was zilch. This was not a folk horror movie. I saw some comparing it to The Witch and tf it isn’t! The Witch actually has a plot! Thanks for making me feel validated. I honestly thought I was alone in my dislike and disappointment in the film.
Okay, I haaate to be that guy, but… It’s pronounced ‘Kai-dan’. The w is silent. If you enjoyed the Kobayashi film, I definitely recommend reading the Japanese Ghost Stories collected and written by Lafcadio Hearn, on which the film is based. Really fascinating.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was just fucking awful. We discovered after that if we had communicated, we all would have walked out, but we were all trying to be nice to each other. It's a cynical, shitty cash-grab and everyone involved, even great people like Catherine O'Hara and Willem Dafoe should be ashamed of themselves for participating in this. But I have particular malice for Keaton and most especially Burton for going on talk shows and hawking this idea that they went back to their youthful artistic integrity and only did this because they found they had a great script and the right script and they were going practical again and all that bullshit, which is ALL LIES. As you pointed out, the script is an absolute mess with just as many ideas crammed in as possible to hang dopamine bumps of nostalgia and weak humor on for cash money. The script is rancid not only because the story is so awful and such a mess, with things like the sudden resolution of Lydia having to marry Beetlejuice just being like, "Oh, no, the contract is actually null and void because reasons! Yay, everybody's happy again!", but also because even the jokes are just weak and rely on you already liking it enough to forgive them. But also PRACTICAL EFFECTS?! The movie is like 70% CGI and a lot of it BAD, recent-Marvel-level CGI. Like 90s CGI. What a disaster. Not because they didn't make the movie I wanted, and not because they didn't stroke my nostalgia-tummy enough, but because they just made a shitty movie while they weren't too old to do it. And all just a shabby cash-grab. Shame on them all.
I agree about Fear No Evil. I think the idea is really good but the execution is bad with a lot of weird moments like when he gave that guy boobs then tried to assault him. I didn't finish Speak No Evil. I got bored before anything actually started happening. Plus I kept mixing up Dutch and Danish and confusing who was who.
it would be great if you would have a banner or just some text onscreen with the title of the film you’re talking about. you only ever say the title once or twice so i miss a lot of them
John Carpenter is definitely not a fan of Chevy Chase lol. I got to see Carpenter at a Q & A and he does not hold back on his hatred of Chevy Chase. Apparently a lot of people don't like him. He is hilarious in everything he does though.
I did not like A Field in England as there were no characters I cared about. The men were just awful to each other and there was no one to whom I could relate at all.
Midsommar is terrible. To put that above Beatlejuice 2 is blastfumy! It takes forever to get to the point and it's all over the place. The characters are obnoxious and the ending is weak.
Whooooa, the hell's trap dude with the jheri curls is a pretty famous singer/actor named Pedro Fernandez. Dude has been famous since he was a lil kid. He is also in vacation of terror 1 and 2. Which are on shudder. Also some purdy o.k meheecan horror movies.

John Carpenter is definitely not a fan of Chevy Chase lol. I got to see Carpenter at a Q & A and he does not hold back on his hatred of Chevy Chase. Apparently a lot of people don't like him. He is hilarious in everything he does though.
Yeeaah, Chevy is notoriously terrible to work with. I’m still a fan of him on screen though.
I have never liked Alice in Wonderland, I don't like the book or any movie made about it.
🎃🎥👍
Brought your toddler to a movie theater?
I did not like A Field in England as there were no characters I cared about. The men were just awful to each other and there was no one to whom I could relate at all.
Mystic Pizza is spooky? Does not belong on this list.
This list is just what I watched last month, so it has to belong. It’s a Fall movie I watched during the spooky season.
Oh man Lisa and the Devil was pretty bad. Sorry, that was a miss.
You should be off putting lol 😆
Midsommar is terrible. To put that above Beatlejuice 2 is blastfumy! It takes forever to get to the point and it's all over the place. The characters are obnoxious and the ending is weak.
Honestly, I’m just happy to see someone enjoying Beetlejuice 2 so much!
"Well, that's just like... your opinion, man!"
@@mrtn1478 Never said it wasn't dude!
Beetlejuice sequel is "50-ish" years later??? I see that math isn't your forte....
lol You are correct on that
@@cobwebschannel Makin' me feel old, dude! Great channel, though.
Midsommar is a pretentious POS of a film. Sorry.
Ain’t no way u didn’t add time stamps
Dang, even when I do it I don’t get credit for it.
