    Loving the quick videos. They keep me interested and coming back. Because there are only 2 to 4 signs per video it's easier for me to practice when adding them to my vocabulary. If I can add and practice 3 -4 signs per day I'm doing great!!! Thanks so much. 😊

    In addition to these helpful videos, could you start posting some other videos featuring phrases and sentences as well? Doing that would help us connect some of these words together.

      Great idea but very broad topic. Which phrases were you thinking? In what content area?

      @@ASLLOVE I guess basic conversational greetings and weather would be good starting points. I know a lot of ASL words now, but I still don't think I could really converse with a fluent ASL speaker.

    Does it matter which hand is on top When signing? And are you keeping your thumbs straight?

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a great question. You will lead with your dominant hand so if you are right handed, your right hand will be on top. It will feel natural. Try it both ways and you will see what I mean.

    Do the different brother options mean different types of brothers? Like maybe taller, shorter, and similar height. Or full blood, half blood, and step. Or are they different dialects? I'm very new to asl. Are there dialects in asl?

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! The different signs only have one meaning = brother. Often with ASL there is more than one way to sign a word. The option you use would simply be your preference. It could be regional depending on which sign the Deaf Community in your area is using.

    Is the ASL for brothers and sisters any different than singular?

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! You have options. Depending on the sentence I would either include the number ex: I have 2 “brother”. Or if you have a large family you could sign: Have - Brother/Sister - Many. The sign for brother/sister remains the same.

      @@ASLLOVE what’s really going to be different is last semester for 101 I had a hearing teacher, and this semester for 102 I have a deaf teacher and I can already tell the difference in signing is HUGE. It’s easy to tell who’s a native signer and who’s not. I’m excited to learn from a deaf person!

      @@itschelsea4192 that’s awesome! You will definitely see a difference in knowledge of ASL and signing skills during your studies. Plenty of hearing teachers have D/deaf parents or grew up in Deaf culture to some extent. You will see all levels. Best of luck with your next course!

      Do you mean this sign th-cam.com/video/S__TNol3TeM/w-d-xo.html for like? If so then no, this sign cannot be used in conjunction with boy to mean brother.
