When if you actually watch the footage. Dales car bumped into Schrader. He died of a head injury from the head on impact into turn four’s wall. 2001 was a devastating year for this country. Similar to Dale Earnhardt, at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at the Imola track, he was leading at the start of lap 7 when rounding a flat out left handed corner called Tamburello, his car inexplicably vered right at 190mph. Although he applied the brakes as hard as he could, the car still impacted the outside wall at ~135mph. His front right wheel and part of the suspension assembly of that part of the car hit and penetrated his helmet, fracturing his skull and injuring his brain. He was already unconscious when paramedics arrived and he was declared clinically dead at about 4PM local time. He was killed in front of a global audience and the world responded in kind
