      @@The.Rooster469 Have I said anything about using boilies? It all comes down to how your groundbait acts in the water. It is suposed to settle down on the bottom like a carpet in one spot, and slowly, yet consistantly realese bigger parts of groundbait like worms, seeds corns or koi pellets. In Europe fishing isn't just big rod, big boilie on a store bought rig in a lake surrounded by willow trees, fishing for 50 pound carp. The cyprinidae familly is preety damn big, has different species that we studied since centuries and fishing here holds many years of tradition. Honestly it's kind of funny to me how americans belive they are better than everybody in everything and have the audacity to call somebody who they never met or saw "Mr. Rookie" because of one comment they read on the internet. It looks kind of funny when you see people call bass the king of the water, spending massive ammounts of cash on lures, boats and rods when the same fish is known to attack a nailclipper lure.

    • @Johnnyfishalot
      @Johnnyfishalot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey William, Thanks so much for watching and the question... You can absolutely put it in a bag, but just be sure its not too watery... the corn water from the can will dissolve the bag. My prefered method for this pack bait is the method lead... I just squeeze the bait around the lead and then wedge the hook in the bait to avoid tangles. I did another short on it here, or if you want to see this in action here are a few Carp videos I did using this bait if that helps you out... hope you enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions.

If your getting pellets on the cheap I'll definately go for that though (they are designed for carp afterall). THanks so much for the comment and for tuning in!!! I'm so glad you pointed that out... to avoid I would recommend the following... 1) when you mix the bait make sure it will hold its form in your hand when you squeeze it, but is not rock hard and will still flake apart. 2) I'd recommend using a method feeder to pack your bait. Simply pack your bait in the ribbed section of the weight (method feeder) and then put the hook with a piece of corn or fake corn in the pack bait 3) I'd recommend either tying or purchasing hair rigs and rubber corn to present you bait and get a carp to eat it. If your interested I put some helpful links right here for you to check out. THanks again:

    I followed the recipe. I noticed the pack bait stayed on the feeder very well. But it didn’t dissolve into the water. Any suggestions

    • @Johnnyfishalot
      @Johnnyfishalot  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey AlonzoJohns5871!! Thanks so much for watching and for the comment/question. I do have some suggestions... Typically the bait doesn't break down in the water when there is too much liquid/water in the mix to begin with... What I do is, I drain out all the water/liquid from the sweet corn before putting it in the bucket... Then I dump it in the bucket, add all the dry ingredients, THENNNN let it sit for 5 - 10 minutes while stirring often... the trick is to add little amounts of liquid and stir then let it sit. It is FAR easier to add more liquids than to take liquids out... Once the bait is firm enough to (kind of) hold its shape in a ball when you squeeze it, but its still breaking apart, that's about perfect. What happens is, when you add to much liquid the jello and bread and corn kind of form a brick and it wont break up easily in water... following some of these little tricks of adding water/liquid slowly and letting the bait sit 5 - 10 minutes will ensure the bait is soaking up the flavors, but its not too heavy with water... I hope this helps.... let me know how this works out for you. Hope you can get carp fishing this weekend!! Thanks... let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks so much.

    What kind of hook do you use? Circle hook?

    • @Johnnyfishalot
      @Johnnyfishalot  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Nascar Junk... thanks so much for the question... I really appreciate it... I actually do not use circle hooks for carp... what I am using in this video #6 (I typically use a #6 or #8 size hook) is a Korda Kamakura hook.... You can find these on BigCarpTackle.com. I also use a #6 or #8 wide gap Korda Hook Link to something like that is here: amzn.to/45ph1J2
      Circle hooks don't work well for carp because they usually try and spit the hook imidiately and don't give the circle hook enough time to turn in the fish's mouth... Using a small korda hook (or any brand you like) tied with knotless knot and "kicker" or piece of shrink tubing to form a 30 degree angle where line is coming out of the hook is perfect for immediately turning the hook into the bottom of the fish's mouth as soon as it picks up your bait... I hope this helps... let me know if you have any more questions... Always happy to help ;)

      Thanks so much Travis, really appreciate that... and REALLY appreciate the comment... I have heard that before, and honestly I'm not sure what the circumstances are around these reports... I use sweet corn from a can which is almost like mush... I have heard that deer feed corn (much harder is tough to digest). I'll dig into a little more, but I have heard this about carp, but then other carp anglers say the opposite... I'm not sure about trout though honestly... yeah I have heard it before, I'll have to look more closely into it. Thanks so much for the kind comments... Corn only kills fish if yoy use dried and its not prepared correctly soak it for 24hrs and boul till soft shouldn't be hard in the centre. If not made right a fish will fill its belly and it will swell and kill the fish. Tinned sweetcorn or frozen is fine

      @@Mr-Eleven Bread does work, but it works best with floater rods and setups (top water fishing for carp). If you guys want to be your baits down and fish for carp I'd honestly recommend some hair rigs and some boilies, you don't have to go nuts and the rigs and baits are pretty affordable. I'd recommend (not affiliated at all with either company) mainline baits or sticky baits. I think you can get both delivered to your house from BigCarpTackle.com (again not affiliated at all haha, just a sincere recommendation). The other thing you can look for is oatmeal combo packbaits like the one I showed you, but instead of corn you use seed and oatmeal. If you do want to try boilies I'd recommend only a few flavors to start out with (again you can go insane looking at all the nonsense carp marketing out there)... I'd go with manilla (sweet) and something savory like bloodworm or krill boilies. Let the carp tell ya what they like day to day... Hooking corn on the hook does the same thing.

    • @Johnnyfishalot
      @Johnnyfishalot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Duck, I respectfully disagree... plain old corn on a hook does not bait an area for fish and the liquid additives you can add to a pack bait make even more appealing to get fish feeding and rooting around in an area. Additionally, with a pack bait you can chum in areas and/or states where chuming is not allowed because its attached to your hook. Furthermore, using a hair rig with a pack bait will dramatically increase you hook up ratios far more than just baiting a hook. Additionally, again, using a rubber piece of corn on a hair vs baiting corn on a hook limits the amount of turtles and small fish are going to peck away your bait before a carp finds your hook. The rubber corn that's flavored allows for the carp to get your hook and not a turtle or small fish... Hope that helps... If you end up trying it, let me know how you make out. Thanks again.
