Did you explain where the output of the pulse 16 is going your modular? I get the idea but is the output of the pulse strictly being used to send cv? I used some analog synths and mainly mix so I would need the outs for hardware comps/eqs but would also like to take advantage of the cv option as well - I'm a bit confused
I know this video is old but id like to get a ferrofish but how do you deal with sending cv in to the box? I know there is outputs so you can send cv out but how do deal with sending it in? I use expert sleepers but would love to get rid of those if you have a solution for sending cv in?
You'll need a "floating ring" TRS cable. Since the outputs are balanced, if you use a regular TS cable, you'll be sending the inverted signal to ground
Hi guys! I have a Ferrofish Pulse 16. Is there a way for me to enable it to also send CV signals? Or will K have to upgrade if I would wish to do this? Thanks!
@JeffPetersenSynthax it's a bummer becouse pulse16 CVS are nowhere to be found. Are they discountiniued? Also does pulse 16 mx has CV from the get go or is there a mx cv model also?
@@Judasz696 They are having issues with getting the needed components for the CV mod at the moment, these will be available again soon. The CV option is always an option, none of the "stock" models can send out CV. The Pulse 16 MX CV model is available now, but we only have a few in the USA.

Both uses are possible. The outputs still work for line level output, they just have DC blocking caps removed to support CV/Gate as well.
I hope ferrofish decides to continue this option with CV because it's the best thing I've seen so far as an ADAT expansion with good converters.

Is there a special cable to be used from output to input or just regular 1/4 to 1/8 cable?

You need the Pulse 16 CV variant for this capability, if it's not "CV" then DC signals are blocked at the analog output.
@@JeffPetersenSynthaxcan it be change with firmware update?
@@Judasz696 No, it's a factory hardware change during production.
