Hey guys! We're glad that you like our products. Please note that the A32 range is discontinued, the successor is the new A32pro series with a black frontplate.
Hi Jan! The A32 has been great! I saw the release of the A32pro...nice upgrades. I am hoping to get a hold of one to use for a series of videos I am making around setup and configuration for my 32/64 channel studio upgrade I recently began working on. Cheers!
I am considering the A32 as i would like to mix down up to 32 channels through my analog console and be able to use my vintage outboard gear. I would like to run the Direct Outs from my analog mixer into the A32 and from there into my DAW (A Laptop PC running Studio One Software). On mixdown, I would like to run from the A32 into my analog console. My question please:.. How do I connect from the A32 into my DAW and then back from the DAW going through the A32 Outputs into my analog console (for mixdown). I do not believe you can use the USB connector on the A32 to do the I/O. I really don't know too much about DANTE and what I would need to buy so I can use the A32 with my Laptop PC. Any suggestions are surely welcome. Thank you in advance. Philip NYC Area
Can the Dante Connector on the A32 be run directly into the Ethernet Port on a PC Laptop DAW? * Or does one need a Dante Card in Desk Top PC or the virtual sound card in a PC laptop that's available from the Dante manufacturer? Thanks in advance. Philip NYC Area
Great Video! I recently purchased an A32pro as a companion for my RME UFX 3. I've got the RME up and running, but have yet to figure the setup process for the A32pro.....Not a lot of info or tutorials out there yet. I've reached out to both Ferrofish and Synthax for help, but no response as of yet. I tried to download the drivers on Ferrofish website, but the files will not not open. Frustrating to say the least. Looking forward to more content from ya! Greg
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Strange that the software will not open. Are you running any anti-virus programs? If so try disabling it before installing. How you setup the A32pro (and others such as Pulse 16) really depends on whether you plan to do any patching through the converter itself or if you are using it to add direct IO for your DAW or hardware patchbay. Hope you are able to get the software install worked out soon!
@@askdrtk thanks for the help! I did have to disable an anti- virus thing to upload the RemoteFish. After about 30 minutes of playing with it, and (most importantly) setting the conversion setting correctly…it works. YAY!!!
Hi Todd! I would love for you to review a brand new pair of professional open back studio headphones that Sony released a couple of months ago, they’re the Sony MDR-MV1, they’re designed for critical mixing and mastering. I would love for you to run audio tests on them and review them.
Thanks for the suggestion! The MV1 are definitely on my list for a review. I have heard a few conflicting opinions on them and am looking forward to checking them out too!
Dante latency performance is good between the A32 and my PC in Studio One and PT - suitable for recording. MADI through my HDSPe MADI is slightly less in the DAWs, but when using ASIO direct monitoring through TotalMix FX, drops well below 1ms, even at lower sample rates without have to go to extremely low buffer size. A card is not needed imo, but there are advantages depending on your workflow.
How does the Ferrofish connect to a computer? I have 3 API 3124’s and a 4 channel Daking how would I get them to connect to a computer via the Ferrofish? I’m looking to buy an Apple computer. I’ve never recorded with software before this is all frustrating and confusing for me. Nobody on TH-cam has covered this yet. Thanks
I guess I didn't understand it right. Does the USB not work like it does on an Antelope Orion 32 for example ? Does it not transmit information to detect In and Out inside the Daw ?
Yes, the A32 and A32 pro series are for expansion the channel count of another audio interface only (ADAT, MADI, DANTE), they are not themselves audio interfaces. USB on these converters is for routing and software updates. For example, if I connect the A32 to my Orion 32+ gen3 using MADI, I have 64 channels available when using the Orion (I use Thunderbolt) as my interface in Studio One. The same can be done with other interfaces. The A32 series also allows you to route audio through it converting between ADAT, MADI, and Dante which is very flexible for interconnecting larger systems with even higher channel counts. Hope this helps out, Cheers!
Peace this is exact product I wanted to see being talked about. I want to expand my i/o and I was looking into the pulse 16 to add to my Presonus 1824c which I’m considering to upgrade to a motu or a Apollo in the not to distant future still undecided what are thoughts? Thank you for the content very informative. Keep it up. ✌🏽
I’m glad to hear the video was timely. When I look at changing interfaces and expansion I always think about the connections / ecosystem. I am not sure if you are running a Mac or a Windows PC, but if you are going with a Thunderbolt interface there are some considerations that have come up since TB4 was introduced. I have been running TB3 with no issues for some time on Windows. TB4 implementation on Mac is backwards compatible with TB 3, 2, and 1 whereas TB4 on Windows hardware is only guaranteed to be backwards compatible with TB3 (Intel intentionally removed TB2 and 1 support from TB4, there is no technical Windows reason for he omission). MOTU interfaces such as the 16A use TB2, so this can be an issue on Windows. There is also the consideration of how you will connect your expansion. ADAT is ubiquitous, but sample rate / channel count limitations make MADI, Dante, and other options compelling. I am in the process of moving to an Orion 32 plus which with expansion will give me 64 channels in and 64 channels out at any sample rate up to 192. I will have more videos on the subject, but let me know if you have further questions in the meantime. Cheers!
@@askdrtk Peace I appreciate and I am grateful for your response. From your response I have a clear inclination that your not a fan of Mac/UA products 😂🤣 I can be wrong. But anyway I have a custom built windows pc with a i9 chip and tb4/ usb 3 connectivity had it built specifically for audio/video production and unfortunately I learned the brutal truth about the backwards compatibility but it wasn’t a setback it was a learning experience.Yes I understand that with adat the higher your sample rate the less channels you can use I’m not to crazy about that but I know it’s an option does Madi/Dante work in similar fashion? Plus I personally want to upgrade to 48 channels that’s fine for me have a tascam model 24 mixer in my studio which is the most tedious thing to do is all the routing and connections making music is the easy part. I’m not that type of person to follow any industry standards equipment specs or qualifications I want to find what works for me and for my dollar with that said again thanks and keep the videos coming.🫡✌🏽
I hate the converters on the Apollo X6. Can I hook this up yo my X6 for better conversion?

Hi, are you going to upgrade the standard pulse 16 anytime soon? New version. Upgraded converter chipset?

You need an Dante PIC card for your PC.
are the converter in the Antelope Orion 32 night & day better then the converter in the Ferrofish 16 pulse ?????

How is juts plugging straight into your ethernet port on your computer and using Audinates software without having to get an PCIe card?

Any experience with the lynx aurora(n)?
Not the (n)...had one of the 16FWs for some time and it was solid.
