Greg howe inspired EVERY guitarist that wanted to get away from that neo-classical playing,.his playing was funky, fast and original and no one was doing that back in 87,...
hehehehe no. guthrie is far above howe in every single way. being a pioneer doesnt make him better at something. hindrix was a pioneer, and hes a kitten compared to the cthulhu monster that is guthrie.
Greg Howe all the way! Far superior creativity, tasty bluesy funky phrases, very melodic surprising lines in a powerful rhythmic contours and most important: as always very musical, interesting and fun to listen!👏🎸🎶
man, nobody's here is really sweeping. Nieri's technic is an hybrid using right's hand fingers that sounds a bit like sweep. All of them are very Holdsworth's school, nobody from Gambale's school IMO.
@@luigisari677 if you want Gambale's school, id say Alex Hutchings is the man. But from these guys, I'd say Guthrie shows signs of both (not in this video tho,but overall)
I use to listen to Greg , Guthrie and so on, they are crazy but I don't think I have seen anyone does the hybrid picking as fluid as Andre and sound so mind blowing smooth.
Greg Howe is my favourite guitarist, as he is the whole package and a super nice guy on top of it. (This one wasn't very impressive though, but pretty epic sounding actually). Guthrie Govan is almost too perfect and clean for my taste, but absolutely stellar. Andre Nieri has sensational technique to be sure, and is a new discovery for me. Really stunning. I think comparing guitarists is pointless, as it's about the music in the end. Technique is just a way to express yourself, but many of us let it rule us as opposed to us using it to create something unqiue and wonderful
Wow .. just wow especially for the first two clips. This bedroom clip of Howe is pure inspiration. And the second Nieri SOARS. You have a good ear, Mister ..
Common sense to me would be the point in this video is to share 4 phenomenal guitar players.... Each are absolutely amazing and unique. Enjoy them all. Each player will touch someone's emotions differently. Stop comparing and enjoy their talents!
Tom Quayle man is smooth as fuck and timing is the best of this lot...Govan is an inspiration nieri is scary, Greg literally was in the frintline of this genre so he is out of comparison
Greg Howe's tone and phrasing feel fresh and emotional, whereas all the others sound like they're playing a succession of exercises. Guthrie is technically phenomenal, but Howe's playing always feel in the pocket.
Economy picking... Imagine Govan if he did the same. GG alt picking is spot on but his right hand.. a lot of movement... not as bad as Zak Wilde but still...
No lets be honest here my friend .. I really like Greg he is an amazing player but fusion was invented in the early 70s and even before greg there were players like Larry Coryell , John Mclaughlin, AllanHoldsworth, Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson, Mike Stern, Brett Garsed, Shawn lane etc..
This Andre Nieri dude is really amazing! Greg Howe has so many amazing records. He's a favorite of all serious guitar players. Greg is blown away by Daniele Gottardo, give him a listen if you haven't. Check out "Cardiology" or anything else is out of this world.
Greg Howe is in such a league above these guys. They are good but he is unique and one of the pioneers of shred fusion.
agreed people dont understand:)
I have to agree. I think overall technique spanning multiple styles Guthrie wins but Greq for his style just sounds the most pleasant and fluid.
Greg howe inspired EVERY guitarist that wanted to get away from that neo-classical playing,.his playing was funky, fast and original and no one was doing that back in 87,...
Yep Greg is step ahead but others are good as well
hehehehe no. guthrie is far above howe in every single way. being a pioneer doesnt make him better at something. hindrix was a pioneer, and hes a kitten compared to the cthulhu monster that is guthrie.
Can't people just respect all these brilliant and distinguished musicians in their own right, without turning it into Guitar X factor!
Impossible. People need to say who "wins" and is "best." Its really hilarious.
That’s what this video does is respect all of those artist does it not?
@@scottparsons7825 Yes, the video does-the comments don't.
@@JonnyRollin oh I see, they are all astoundingly good!
@@scottparsons7825 Yes,absolutely and in their own individual ways too.
Greg Howe's playing is supreme.
Greg Howe and Guthrie Govan are the tastiest fusion players out there.
Greg Howe and I love the Tom Quayle style, father and son
Greg Howe is unbelievable..superb!!
Guthrie sounds the most versatile. He melds, an all-in-to one experience. But honestly, these guys are ALL amazing jazz guitarists. FUCK YEA!!
Amazing greg howe .. wow
Greg Howe all the way! Far superior creativity, tasty bluesy funky phrases, very melodic surprising lines in a powerful rhythmic contours and most important: as always very musical, interesting and fun to listen!👏🎸🎶
howes bends and slides...nieris sweeps.....govans alternate picking.....quayles legatto...amazing,all of it

Terrible writing, dude. Looks like a five year old wrote that.
They all blow me away, but Guthrie has ridiculous variety and touch. Greg is from another planet! wow
Greg Howe is my favorite. He’s not just playing a lot of notes. I can feel what he’s doing.
Every single one is special in he's own way, no need to fight over who's better
I use to listen to Greg , Guthrie and so on, they are crazy but I don't think I have seen anyone does the hybrid picking as fluid as Andre and sound so mind blowing smooth.
Greg Howe is the inspiration through all of this stuffs..
Damn! All great players but Greg Howe is my favorite.Just love the way he phrases.
The best guitars fusion the world

André Nieri man... tHE BEST
I don’t want to compare. I love all these players and learn millions of things from them.. They are all unique
amazing talents just amazing period
Triple G.- Great Guthrie Govan
The hybrid picking of Nieri is Amazing
How much feel did greg have in that performance!!! Amazing..Guthrie is ferocious my 2 fave guitarists!!! With Frank Gambale
I love fusion 😘
Thanks dude all the four of them r good...huge respect for greg howe
greg howe!!🎉
Nao é pq eu sou Brasileiro, mais o André é o melhor da atualidade
Wow .. just wow especially for the first two clips. This bedroom clip of Howe is pure inspiration. And the second Nieri SOARS. You have a good ear, Mister ..
greg howe is the leader of fusion shredder
I didn't know about Tom and Andre, Guthrie is still my favorite but those are still nice discoveries :)
Andre has been playing with Virgil Donati for over an year now.
If you love Guthrie you should start from Greg Howe, I hear a lot of Howe in Govan playing...
@@Jazzmatalex same for me, i search in govan influences and he don't talk about Howe.
The video is not a comparison, much less competition ... Only four players who I admire!
Tiago Mauri as do I! I would add Martin Miller, Andy Timmons and Brett Garsed to that list!
I also suggest looking into Duran Naito Haruhisa, and Alex Hutchings. Both fantastic players as well.
Some of the best fusion on planet earth..
Common sense to me would be the point in this video is to share 4 phenomenal guitar players.... Each are absolutely amazing and unique. Enjoy them all. Each player will touch someone's emotions differently. Stop comparing and enjoy their talents!
Niere!!🇧🇷🎸♥️
damn didn't know this guy Greg Howe, he's got such a feeling in his playing
OMFG
He was one of the guys who created this style. Shred/fusion exists because of Greg Howe.
Niere is one of guitar players more technics of brazil very technic and very precise.
four guys i don't want at my jam! lol.
Yes someone could get diminished ;)
Amazing playing!
Greg 👏👏👏
Niere 😍❤
Yes the dream team .....
4 absolute giants!
Andre nieri é sensassional
Tao SENSACIONAL qto seu português
Andre Nieri!!!!!
Tom Quayle man is smooth as fuck and timing is the best of this lot...Govan is an inspiration nieri is scary, Greg literally was in the frintline of this genre so he is out of comparison
There are so many great lines from these four remarkable players. Fodder for days!
Masters guitar world
Greg Howe's tone and phrasing feel fresh and emotional, whereas all the others sound like they're playing a succession of exercises. Guthrie is technically phenomenal, but Howe's playing always feel in the pocket.
Best coment!
I have to agree with you. They are all killer players but Greg truly tugs at the heart stings.
author's choices, everyone has a feeling in others works...
They are all great. I have this feeling every time I watch Guthrie of a spider climbing over the neck
Guthrie is the best to ever live hands down.
Right behind Greg Howe, right behind my friend...
all awesome, but only Greg has that bebop feel
Beasts
Quayle legato is ssssoooooo smooth like butter but come on Greg is the father ... He is the pillar of all these player out here...
I löve all !!!
Tom Quayle got great legato skills.
Economy picking... Imagine Govan if he did the same. GG alt picking is spot on but his right hand.. a lot of movement... not as bad as Zak Wilde but still...
I really enjoyed Govan and Nieri
Só Nego bruto hein
howe com esse solo desgraça a vida de todos nessa terra... melhor solo
Howe insuperable
The order of name in the context of history; Greg Howe-> Guthrie Govan->Tom Quayle->Andre Nieri. But four of them are totally a blast!
Guthrie the best
that many notes becomes exhausting
Andre Nieri espectacular técnica, pero me encanta Howe y Govan.
Andre nieri es la ostia
Isnt Greg the genesis of all of these other guys?
Tony Reese yup
Doubt it. GG wrote waves when he was 19
@@chadmarx7718 The main melody maybe. But theres no way of knowing how developed his guitar style was at that age

@@zdtluanga7682 I think they’re talking about “shred fusion style”, not jazz fusion or rock fusion exactly
Govan #1
Goven 🙌
Tom is so much cleaner than the rest
This Andre Nieri dude is really amazing! Greg Howe has so many amazing records. He's a favorite of all serious guitar players. Greg is blown away by Daniele Gottardo, give him a listen if you haven't. Check out "Cardiology" or anything else is out of this world.
technically they seems at a same level, but the choice of melody and notes in Greg Howe's playing
is much more intersting for me.
Killers!!! Beautiful to watch and listen!!
Greg howes still the best
EXTRAORDINÁRIOS, CADA UM COM SEU TIMBRE SEU SOM PARTICULAR!!!!!
Geeezus kind of unfair sticking Guthrie in the the middle of the other three, that guy is from a different planet.
Greg howe por mucho
O lemao magrelo e o melhor.

OMG! GG!
I like how you used "/" and not "vs"
What is the song played by Greg? After the solo there is a voice! Thanks!
govan doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves.
I miss Rick Grahan in these type of videos.
Gerald Francis, They are all brilliant, but Guthrie is ruling the rouste right now !!
I like the style of martin miller
Howe is the beginning Govan is the end
GG...guthrie govan
no need to fight guys. I'm the best
Tira o Guthrie daí, ele está em outro patamar. Huehuehhe
Suhr guitars win
Fun to watch how lazy Quayle's right hand is during most of his segment.
Greg is god!!!
It looks Greg is in his own league!
They are all great. But if you take into account the amount of dollars earned per one note played, I'd prefer Dave Gilmour :)
Can someone tell me what scales they’re using?
Holdsworth.
what is the name of the tracks? andre's and greg's?
Hello, does anyone have any idea what what that Andre Nieri excerpt is from? Thanks!
