  • Welcome to our channel! In this video, I share my personal journey and the strategies I used to teach my son to read before he turned 3.Khi has been reading since he was 2 years old . Early literacy is a crucial foundation for lifelong learning, and with the right approach, you can foster a love for reading in your little one from a very young age. Here’s how we did it. From the very beginning, we surrounded our son with books and made reading a fun, engaging part of our daily routine. I’ll walk you through the steps we took and the activities we enjoyed together that sparked his interest in reading

My daughter spoke at 8 months old and read clearly by 1and a half , she's been super smart , always came first in all her classes and has been in every honor roll, all the way to university . Graduated with honors in science and all her other subjects

OMG, my son is now 35y and I did the same thing as you are doing now. Sent him to school before 3 y. He knew the flag of every country 😮 Just watch out for early burnout. He is ambidextrous. But when they are so smart early we as parents try to help them along. From kindergarten, he skipped to the 2nd grade. He got to university at 16y and was burnt out. You are doing well with though. He's ok now. Just watch for the signs. You are my kind of Mom. Kudos to you and your family. We are Jamaica parents and that's what we do. I love you and your family so much. ❤

My son was reading at 2.5 years old. I taught him the alphabet phonetically and that was a game changer. Once he got the sounds, we moved on to flashcards, jolly phonics, akili and me, fino & bino. He loves music so we used a lot of educational songs. Reading every night and reading whilst he was in the bath etc. Now he's 5 and working on workbooks that are for 7_8yrs old. Well done mama x

👋🏾 Shakera & Fam Big up yourself..I'm so happy you're talking about this my daughter is special needs she's been diagnosed with Autism & Moderate Intellectual Disability & trust me when I tell you. She didn't get a Ipad until she was 5 yrs..she pee pee the bed & laid in it..Ipad was removed immediately & only used when I sitting beside her doing educational activities. I cut off my cable when she turned 8 yrs old to force her to have conversations with me & reduce her echolalia. Extra curricular activities. Trips to the movies, amusement parks, educational things like science center Royal Ontario Museum, Ripleys Aquarium. Thanks for sharing & I hope my post helps. My daughter will be 18 yrs old in August & doing extremely well.

Interestingly, I remember a video of your husband saying folks could sometimes be or say mean things and so that's why he didn't want his children being seen too much on screen. I wondered to myself then if no one had realized that Kai Kai pumpkin pie was a genius.

Khi was the exact reason why we stopped posting the kids . But yeah he's super smart

@ShakeraSphere pardon me all this time. I've been spelling his name wrongly smh. I forget the particular video, but he was on screen with his father, and he was not speaking. However, his reaction to his father communicating with him was my confirmation that he was a little bit more than super smart. I didn't do all you've done with my children I just never had them watch TV except once weekly and they were surrounded with books and the arts my first child was reading at 3 and her brother was not that way inclined and my youngest a great communicator didn't read fluently till 3rd grade. I am so happy they're all adults now being dedicated, and present parent is hard work rewarding but hard.

Congratulations to you. You have done the correct things. What you can add is when you take them out e .g. at the beach or park have conversations about things in the environment. This will expand their vocabulary. In this way you will be integrating their experiences with speaking, reading, writing and Math.

My sons was reading at 1 1/2 taught them really early I had a chalk board and had them spelling and doing other activities and they loved it. I also had flash cards for them and always read books 📚 for them. They scored the highest SATS in the high school and got scholarships for college.
