    This channel has such incredibly high quality content! I'm from Sweden and when I went to school my school had the idea that learning sight words and reading and memorizing short books was the way to go. Kids would just intuitively get it. Parents were even advised not to work on sounding out words with their kids. Luckily my mother had already started doing that with me when I started school and though she didn't have the tools of systematically practicing blending (she just thaught me the letter sounds and sounded out words in books with me) she did a lot better than the teachers at my school and I was way ahead of my classmates. With my sister she was busier and at first tried to let the school do it that way. Realizing my sister was not reading at all after a year she took matters in her own hands again. Others did not have mothers like that and many fell years behind. Now I'm a mother and I really don't trust anyone else to teach my child how to read. Good advice in Swedish isn't abundant so watching this and trying to adapt it for Swedish.

    Literally the video I needed. 🙌🏼
    I’ve been showing him 3 letter words for a while and he can sound them out and say them but I’ve trying to get to this point. He’s only done two words where he just looks at it and says it, so this video came at the perfect time. Thnx

    Feeling pretty bad about myself, I needed all 5 seconds for each… any help for slow ADULT readers with poor comprehension (because I take so long to read and my eyes jump around so much, by the time I get to the end of a sentence I forget what the beginning said). I love reading and would love to get better at it! Love your videos!! I’ve already seen a difference with my kids!!

      I'm a speech therapist and I work with students with disabilities and it takes a multisensory approach (visuals, hands on, auditory cues) to get the kids to really grasp the letter sounds and way more repetition. What phase of learning is your child in the process of learning to read? I would highly recommend a system that i use with my students. Each letter has a visual with a storyline and tells you how to place your tongue teeth and lips to make the sounds and hand gestures too!

    My Daughter always keeps on saying me she do not want to blend words in front of me . She would like to memorize blending without saying. Blending she wants to keep inside brain . Want to speak entire word but she could not read . How can I explain her so she will start blending

    • @Just_enterTained
      @Just_enterTained ปีที่แล้ว

      Explain that sounding it out allows you to hear it which will helps you find the final result faster and there's no shame in it. Maybe she's just embarrassed to be wrong and show it until she knows she's right. I was that way when I was younger. Try to be as encouraging as possible because there's almost no better Learning than learning from mistakes. You get things wrong until you get them right it applies to everything in life.
