- Karl Malone collided with Isiah Thomas in a game on December 14, 1991. Thomas received 40 stitches and Malone was ejected, fined $10,000 and was suspended for a game. This includes the KSL report on the incident.

This happened in Dec 1991. Some people might not know this but Thomas actually went to the hospital to get more than 40 stitches then came back into the game and played the final 6 minutes of the game. This is why older basketball fans look at today players and just shake our heads. I mean why are you guys missing so many games when the game has became so less physically? It’s hard to not consider today players as soft when you have witnessed how basketball players played in the past.
