@Millsi Has this ran in the 10s yet? 😁 So epic! I've got a '68 Commer I've fitted a Saab 2.3 turbo to. I'm gunning for a far more conservative 250hp than what yours is at. Just 7-8 times more than standard 😆
@@LivingMyBoostLife nice! I'd love a commer van with a knocker motor. No 10s yet, building a strong motor for it and bigger turbo etc. Another few months I reckon.
@@fknmillsi Jeez what power goals are you aiming for!? Just need to turn my Commer nerd on for a second; the beautiful sounding knocker engine never came in the vans, just the trucks. So we were stuck with 1725cc Hillman 4 cylinder weedy engines 😝
A couple of years later and it has a different fully worked over de-stroked Barra, as well as most of the rest of the drivetrain worked over again, and he's chasing 1000KW at the wheels, currently making 830KW at the wheels. FknMillsi....
I am building a T-bucket and wanted something different from the usual V-8. I considered a Ford cross-flow from the '80s and a Barra. I know the Barra is a missile but in the end, I just couldn't live with the sound of an inline 6. Inline 6s are great engines and the Barra is up there with he best of them and readily available in Oz but like all inline 6s, the sound they make just sucks.
The name is short for Barramundi, a fish found in the waters of Northern Australia. The engine was made by Ford Australia, sold only in Australia and New Zealand (and maybe South Africa) and is a 4.0 litre, DOHC, 24 valve inline 6. They are an absolute missile.

@@CHINGY1993 1700kg with me in it as you see in this vid. Another 50kg in street trim with full exhaust and rear seat in. Pretty heavy

Good engine!!!, but you must acelerate more fast in the start.
