- How does Angel Hernandez have a job ? Angel Hernandez makes some of the worst calls in Major League Baseball. He is the worst umpire in all of baseball. Last night Hernandez called this ball foul in a game between the Texas Rangers and the Minnesota Twins. The worst part is that the call was made in the 9th inning of the baseball game. Byron Buxton hit a ground ball to third base and because Angel Hernandez was out of position, he missed the call.

If an ump does a good job , most fans don't know their name , but EVERYONE knows Hernandez , WORST UMP EVER !!
Has anyone ever considered the possibility that he is fixing games? Crazier things have happened. I remember that NBA ref that got caught.
His not the worst umpire by statistics. I think he's 3rd worst by statistics. But the calls he misses have major impacts. I cannot wait until he retires or somehow gets fired. Can we start a petition with the umpires union to get rid of him?
I asked the same thing about starting a petition. I really think it would gain ground and then Angel would have nothing to stand on. The fans are tired of his bullshit
@@conradmurphy4239 when even players are calling you out by name, you know you suck. It's got nothing to do with his ethnicity or color. Fans know which umpires make bad calls, and we fans need to make a big enough effort to get rid of the worst of the worst like Angel.
Hard to believe that there are two umps out there, that are worse than Angel. MLB should probably update their contract language with regards to mistakes on the field.
Angel Hernandez is so bad at umpiring, even a caveman can do it.
When you suck, you can either own up to it or blame others. He seems to do the latter always.
I am amazed he is still calling games and getting postseason games.

When is the union and all of the umps that do a good job going to realize he is making them all look bad and demeaning the integrity of the game. Everytime he makes 1 of his blatantly wrong calls it does not reflect just on him but people watching the game raise an eyebrow and think nobody can make bad calls all the time by accident

How does Major League baseball not get involved when so many blatantly bad calls from one umpire continue yearin and year out? And why is Hernandez still allowed to umpire anything? The man obviously has eyesight problems.

His presence in the game allows for major credibility issues. Because he is so bad, we don’t pay attention as much to the other umps who are also bad, just not as terrible as Angel. I wonder if he got anything out of his suit for racial discrimination, because if he did, it’s an absolute travesty of justice. Nothing about his poor job performance has anything to do with race. The MLB needs to allow for umpire autonomy, but the Umpires Union is not doing anything to police their own awful members. If they don’t watch out, guys like Angel will be the reason they get replaced by video and high res cameras.

Maybe I don't know the rules properly but even if that ball landed foul, it would still be a fair ball because it crossed third base fair, right? This was so much worse, because it clearly landed fair.

It's Major League baseball that is at fault by not including performance standards when negotiating umpire contracts quit blaming the union.
That ball hit first by Buxton's feet in foul territory, then it bounced by third base... It sure was foul. He didn't blow this call!
A batted ball that first hits foul territory and comes back into fair territory before going over a base is fair. That ball went over 3rd base making it fair.
