Radar could detect helicopters coming in before anyone else and was also implied to be able to read people's minds. Getting comics from the future seems appropriate for him to be able to do.

@@TheRagingPlatypus Yes, but I'm referring to an episode where Hawkeye is writing a letter to his father, which he is narrating. As he writes a comment about Radar being able to read minds as Radar walks by, he adds an insult which Radar then stops, turns to Hawkeye an insults him back, despite Hawkeye not actually saying the insult out loud.

I served in Korea 2 tours (1 yr each) and was stationed in several remote areas. When MASH was on it was like church, no one spoke we are here to watch MASH. My last unit was in Camp Red Cloud, where MASH was stationed. Years after I left service the MASH unit there was disbanded, The Army band played the theme song. I never seen an error on MASH because I and my fellow GIs loved the show so much we didn't care, we were there to watch TV.

The absolute biggest mistake you missed was when Potter first came to the 4077, they announced it as "Arriving, September 1952, Colonel Sherman Potter, regular Army, God help us all!" But then in a later episode where they go through the entire year of 1951 ending with the Giants winning the pennant, Potter is shown at the beginning of the episode dressed as Father Time wearing a sash that said 1950. This episode also has Winchester in it throughout the entire year of 1951 and he didn't even arrive to the 4077 until after Potter did.

Mistakes like these can be found in most TV shows. As I watched the video, I was reminded of another error regarding the Colonel's horse. On the episode where they found it, Radar addressed the horse as "boy" and referred to it as "he". For some reason, the writers suddenly decided the Colonel's horse was a mare. The only other explanation is that Radar made a mistake, but since he was supposed to be a farm boy from Iowa, I think that's highly unlikely!
P.S. I remember reading an interview with Alan Alda shortly before "MASH" went off the air. He acknowledged some of the medical errors from the earlier episodes - specifically, moving from one patient to another without changing gloves. By the time the show went off the air, he knew better. He said, "I would never do that now."

Both songs were from 1956. Way past the Korean War time. Another one was the wounded soldier telling the doctors about the broken fan belt on the chopper and the pilot had to land when it over heated and they got there 200 yards at a time. The only thing about the story is the Bell-47 helicopter had an air cooled engine. No fan. No fan belt. No over heating.

Kind of like in Star Trek Generations when Chekov went to sick bay and started barking medical commands. Originally his part was written for McCoy.

Fun fact about the 5 o'clock Charlie episode is the plane flown in it, is an American plane. Also, the pilot Charlie isn't even flying the plane. The real pilot can be seen in the front cockpit bent over trying to hide. The plane was given a quick paint job to cover the shiny metal exterior and American markings. The plane is still kept at the same airport that it was flown from for filming the show.

The show is clearly not about the actual time span of the Korean War, but a time loop that the characters are trapped in. That's why there's both continuity errors and items from future times. The 4077 is trapped in an eternal cycle of war, and occasionally things from outside get in. When Hawkeye breaks down in the finale, that breaks the time loops barriers and they can all escape. It's an endless cycle of bloodshed so strong it warps time itself

The comic one is so funny bc like. Bj got drafted in 52 but is at a New Years party for the incoming of 51. Radar is canonically psychic. Like Hawkeye in his own inner monologue refers to it as ESP and Radar responds to the thought. Multiple people tell him to stay out of their heads and at one point Henry even asks him to stop coming before he’s called and they say “well I dont like to be late sir” “how can you be late when I don’t even know I want you” implying that even Henry didn’t know he was about to call him. Time doesn’t work and they have a guy who’s psychic, I think the comic thing is fine and fits in just as well as reading minds or being at a party that took place a year before you getting there.

That’s right actually-Henry’s wife when she was in the hospital he told the operator “Mildred Blake” but she’s Lorraine later. Also, Trapper’s wife was Louise, and later Frank’s wife was too. And the continuity good with Henry’s kids was not reflected well in this video. When Henry was on the phone with his family (when he brought Nancy to the 4077 to visit), he tells Andrew “I understand your sister dropped an ice cube down your underwear-girls will do that. You mustn’t hit her with the dog.” Clearly Andrew wasn’t the baby. I thought Janie was the baby, from the baby talk he did over the phone (even if he was told he had a son). Ok, there were a lot of continuity errors. So did The Odd Couple and lots of shows. It’s rare to write a bible of who’s who, especially in the early years of a show.
