- 👋 In todays video we take a look at the 2023 Toyota Supra and compare it to the BMW M240i! Since both of these are BMW's and both share the B58 engine, lets take a look at the similarities and differences between them! This is the NEW MK5 A90 Toyota GR Supra! This 2023 Toyota Supra is a fun sportscar to drive and really packs a massive punch from the turbocharged inline 6 cylinder engine! The BMW sourced B58 motor is a joy to drive! The revisions from the original 2020 Supra include a smoother power delivery from better exhaust manifold and turbo housing and gives you a smooth power band and also has the new wheels which I think have a great design to them! The 2023 Supra gets up to speed so easy and the 8 speed automatic shifts so quick and smooth. New for 2023 is also a 6 speed manual option! The 2023 Supra has clean lines on the exterior with lots of bulges. The interior is pretty simple but feels refined like a BMW and is easy to use. The new 2023 Nissan Z will be a great competitor to the Supra and offer a sporty drive and fun colors. Probably wont be as refined as the Supra, but it comes in at a lower cost. My brother owned a 2020 Supra for 2 years and really enjoyed it, but just sold it to buy the new Z. But we like the revised engine for the new Supra and it really is a great sportscar that can be a fantastic touring car! The 2023 Z will be a great replacement for his old Supra, but he really does still like what the Supra has to offer. 2023 Toyota Surpa exhaust sounded really good too! I think they added back the fun sounds after 2021. Nissan 400z might be a slower car then the new Supra, but both are so cool!
In todays video we take a look at the BMW M240i!! This is a four seater sportscar that utilizes the B58 engine which is found in the Toyota Supra!! Being the BMW version though, it only comes with the eight speed automatic, all wheel drive and there are multiple configurations depending on how you want to spec it! The BMW M240i is a practical sportscar for everyday driving! Being a BMW it's well refined, comfortable and reliable! The exterior on this BMW M240i is a unique purple, and aside from the color, it's pretty basic! However, you can spec these and option them being very well equipped!
The interior is very nice! Traditional BMW design! The latest model for the M240i does offer the larger curved gauge cluster and infotainment system and new shifter! I do like the new setup more than this model, but they are both great depending on what you like better! The rest of the interior has a nice design and great materials!
The driving experience for this BMW M240i is great! It drives very similar to the automatic Toyota Supra! Handling will be similar, but it does weight more, but also has the x-drive all wheel drive system, so that can help carry more weight through the turns! I have been in the BMW M2 and 230i and those both drive very well, so with the M240i being in the middle, it's going to perform very nicely for the performance settings!
This would be a great daily driver and one that has a lot of potential for tuning!

M240i hands down and that color too
M240i hands down for me. It's a great 4 season daily driver with just enough practicality for my needs. It definitely needs at least springs and wider/better tires though. 225's in the front for an almost 400hp 3800lb car is weak.
For sure! A nice set of springs and even just wheel spacers and maybe an intake a catted downpipe would be a sweet addition!
Even though I like the 340i much better, it sounds like with the 240i, you would be getting virtually the same performance despite the size differences. I agree with you... why there's no trunk release on the Supra is beyond me 🤔

Stop your whinging about them trunk release I've got a Porsche Boxster 981 and a Jaguar F-Type those two cars don't have a trunk release from behind you either have to use the key or in the interior latch it is not a problem at all stop your whining

I have owned both. The horn on the Supra is a cruel joke BMW played on Toyota. Both great cars and Dragon ready.
The Supra is asking for a lot more compromises inside as it's cramped. Is the Supra significantly better handling and is the steering better? I've heard the Supra has more steering feel, but not driven either. If they are similar then the M240 is an easy pick as it's more practical.
How did bmw play a joke on Toyota? Toyota did just as much, so maybe they did that 🤷♂️
The Supra is way better! It’s lighter and definitely handles better! If you don’t need space it’s not a compromise.

Is that a 2022 M240i? Has the different shifter and dash. I can live with the new shifter, don't like it. Not sure I can live with the new dash. 2 wide screen monitors stuck on looks like shit.
Yeah not the newest year. But still the new generation. The new dash takes some getting used too. But I actually like it the more I use it

What about it? My brother daily drives a Supra and we’ve had tons of seat time in the 240/M2, they are great for daily driving!

The interior of the m240i is a full generation difference over the Supra. You said its similar, how you came to that conclusion? Supra uses BMW gen 6 and m240i uses 7 and in new models 8 🤔

Yea, the materials and feel and design look similar. I didn't say anything about the technology. And I don't remember that last part, but probably misspoke, no biggie.

Old M2 is hard to beat. They are definitely going backwards. M240 not as nice and new M2 simply horrible.

BMW M240 is 0-60 in 3.8 seconds as seen in many TH-cam vid’s. The quality of the build and tech in the BMW is far superior to the Toyota, that is just a fact.
The Supra is a BMW tho. They feel about the same since the parts all came from the same company. BMW states 4.5 seconds for the RWD and 4.1 seconds for the xDrive. Supra with auto transmission can do 3.8 seconds
@@BrosFOURRSpeed BMW always understate the 0-60 times and bhp of their cars. They only supply Toyota with the engine and ZF gearbox. They dont supply the interiors or tech. Toyotas simply don’t have the same quality inside the cabin which at the end of the day is where you spend nearly all your time. Also the Supra will only do its claimed 0-60 on a good day on the right road surface. If it’s damp, wet or with any loose debris then no way. The xdrive does it in any conditions. 2 completely different cars really.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed take a look at carwow youtube video of a New M2 vs M240. The M240 is quicker 0-60 but slower by 0.2 sec 1/4 mile. They fit the M240 with a £600 ECU upgrade and it absolutely smashes the M2. That’s the problem with only RWD. Yes they’re fun to drift etc but they can only put a certain amount of power through just 2 wheels. The M240 is also £16k cheaper.

@@ababbington1 pop a 600 ecu upgrade on an M2 and see what happens, and the M2 does 60 in 3.7 sometimes even 3.6, rwd just doesnt shoot off the line like awd does but the trade off is the un-ending pull it gives you.
1 engine option for the 240. Thsts why its 240 and not 230. There are other engine options

Not everyone needs back seats. Supra handles better and is faster. So for people who just want sports car and just need a small trunk, Supra is the better option. If you need more space, M240 is a great option too
