You guys make a great team. The coordinating outfits - perfect. In addition, the review is great. I feel like I need this TV in my living room. Looks like a great family TV.
Your videos are always so informative and entertaining. Really helped me last year to pull the trigger on the s90c! I absolutely love this TV, thanks for all the great info and keep up the excellent work you do!
I have my very first TCL TV brand, that I have ever gotten myself TCL 55Q65OG-CA. It maybe have been made in 2023, but I really enjoy the picture quality very much.
My only concern is there is no long term reviews on these beyond a few months ! I’ve had my Samsung curved 65 inch for almost ten years and no problems! I want a bigger TV but Hisense and TCL have me worried about longevity.
Had a TcL full array for almost 8 years. Stays on 10 hours a day. No issues whatsoever. Can't say that for my Sony LED. Also ha e the QM8 2024 astounding blacks and color!
How was the Upscaling? So which would you pick over all under 10K in 98"? Sony 90xl, Samsung 80C, Lg 89T? Quality picture wise? Some don't have Dolby Vision. Antenna Tv and movies primarily. Please help me decide
@6:50 Nope, for sure not sports, and not many movies. I’d use for anime & gaming. QM8 for sure seems to be best value jumbo TV! Might as well spend the extra like $1000 from the cheap models, but then after this is LG’s 97” which can’t justify that price jump :( Hoping it drops to $10K msrp in couple years when I’m ready to upgrade
Would you recommend this over the 98” x90L? I was originally going to get the 85” Bravia 9 but I feel like 98” would look better on my wall for full immersion.. and now I’m stuck between this and the x90L, only cus all my Sony tv’s I have do an incredible job with processing, color accuracy and up scaling.. so I’m kinda stuck on a choice lol
I am in the same boat. For me it's between the sony and the Qm8, both are at $5k right now. I watch a lot of movies and sports, specifically NFL & Hockey. I have an old 85" sharp tv and ready to upgrade in size as well as quality.
@ B the Installer Hello B is the LG QNED80 from 2023 a good living room tv? I'm looking at the 50 inch model with a VA panel. The living room is bright with lots of light medium sized. I saw the panel in store it's 120hz so movement is smooth, the colours pop and since it's VA blacks are decent despite the tv being edge lit. The panel is also bright and with the 120hz refresh rate will be perfect for watching sports
Just placed an order for the 98c855 here in the UK. We won't get this model that yiu are reviewing. Been loving your videos since your first 98. Would love to see some of your install videos again. Always enjoyed the content. ❤
It won’t beat UX . Last year UX already has 400000:1 contrast . Bravia 9- 386000:1. Last year QM8 110000:1 I think The Qm851 will look more similar to U8K (165000:1) or U8N (290000:1) 😊 or x95L (200000:1)
98” QM7 coming in Tuesday. The QM8 was a bit out of the price range. I actually just got the Q6 last week and it kicks ass, but I came from a smaller OLED and the picture quality was obviously different. I think the Mini LED will be a good medium.
The best way to test a tv processing is to connect cable tv box with 1080i with some low resolution sd content then watch variety of programs. Differences between tvs here are like day and night. You will feel like throwing through the window ANY tcl tv.
I'm looking to buy a TV this week. I have narrowed it down to This 98" 2024 QM8 or a 77" Sony A95L. I many watch Sports mostly American Football, Netflix, and TH-cam. I want a big tv but not for sure if the 98" TCL would be good enough to not wish I just got the smaller Sony. Does anyone have any pointers? and thanks in advance
This is a great tv. There is always a small difference from OLED vs QLED. But this is huge and bright. I wouldn't hesitate in buying this and it's far better than a few years ago like R646 TCL for example.
I have the earlier version of this TCL 98 Inch QLED. It forced me to relegate my premium A-brand 65 inch OLED to the bedroom. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Same here. I upgraded from my 12yr old Vizio 60" 1080p and the 77" C3 was a huge upgrade literally and figuratively 😅. For it from coscto for $1500 as a display unit but it still came with a 5yr warranty. Hopefully it'll last as long as the Vizio.
one thing I love about my 65inch LGC3 OLED is you can stretch out the black bars. My wife just got the Frame 75inch Samsung TV. It blocks stretching from most of the apps. When LG lets you do what you want? I was either going to get This 98inch TV for the size, But does this tv stop you from Stretching it? If it does, ill just get the 83inch OLED. But I want big big big. Thanks 😀

So with the TV you get a keyboard and a mouse, and when you want to play a game you can just switch to PC mode and play, the TV would also have a Blu-ray reader and printer, so you could play the disc version of the game, not just the digital one. Depending on the strength of the PC component, processor, ram, ssd, you can play the most demanding games that exist today, from the oldest to the newest, and of course it has a Microsoft Windows OS. I would immediately buy such a TV and that the strongest model.

Saw your review of the 2023 TCL 98 INCH S5. I bought it and love it, especially at $2K. It replaced a Samsung Q70r 82 incher. So much more immersive.
Suggestion for 98 inch tv mount?
If you need a 98 inch this looks like a good one.
And the price is good 5k for a 98” while the Sony Bravia 9 65” starts at 4k
