@@kman1898 yeah I agree. In their defense, Clark's is a smaller locally owned and operated AV company. Most AV company's have been bought up by multi national giants from the US. My point being, Clark's does not have a ton of gear in inventory, and with this being busy time. It's likely that their switchers are out on other shows.
That's because it is cheap. This is actually a pretty low end solution when talking about professional projection products. High end projector lenses are much more expensive than this.
Those 0.8 fixed ratio lenses are actually the cheapest in the lineup... because they don't have much zoom, that reduces complexity, need for extra glass, servo motors, etc.
Whole projector doesn't even cost that much. Not a current model, but the street price on the projector would be around $18k US. There is a big jump in price when you move up to the next tier of projectors. If you want 20,000 lumens, be prepared to sell a Tesla Model S Plaid to pay for it.
I love that the intro with the witty titles are making it back here and there! Keep putting those in your videos! It makes it a ton of fun for long time / consistent viewers to understand the puns in the tag lines.
I used to sell the L1505UH and projectors like it for a living. Mostly into churches, but occasionally into really big home theaters and yeah the lack of HDR support on that model was a bit of a sticking point for them, but that doesn't usually matter in the large venue settings these projectors are designed for. Nice to see the high-end projector market getting some love from LTT.
I just wanted to say that LTT has gotten me through some pretty hard times, and the team always brings me such joy. Thanks for showing how fun life can be lads
I managed to play on a ps5 connected to a projector in a giant commercial cinema and this was the best gaming experience I had in my entire life. But it wasn't really the visuals even though we were playing some impressive games but it was the sound that blew my mind. Playing a game with a proper 100+ calibrated surround speaker setup and a game that supported it was an experience like nothing I ever heard or felt, on numerous times I turned around because I heard something in the back right upper corner of the room or something like this. This is something that I think everyone has to experience at least once in their life.
As someone who has the 57 g9 it really do be like that. It's amazing how immersive gaming at its full resolution is. I know that word is thrown around a lot but you just get pulled into the game because it encapsulates so much of your field of view. I tried the alienware 32 inch 4k QF but it just felt like I was looking through a small window compare to what I have set up. Gaming at ultrawide is an amazing experience.
I bought my 21:9 34" almost a year ago and I'm super happy, but I definitely never want to go bigger. a friend of mine with a 32:9 keeps having to fuck with his resolution in games and screenshare all the time because it runs poorly or bugs out often, etc. :d also that previously mentioned HUD thing, some games don't have an option to put the HUD closer in the center so you literally have to turn your head to check things. seems pretty impractical to me IMO@@JoeYo-hl6bw
Owner of a 21:9 monitor. I can say that still applies, even through the smaller resolution. One thing is certain though, movijg your mouse from one side to the other takes quitw a bit of time (also websites cant be fullscreened most of the time, as they expect you to look left, right 20x)
@@JoeYo-hl6bw I bought my 34" 21:9 screen almost a year ago and I really love it. however I don't think I will ever go past this aspect ratio, a friend of mine has a 32:9 odyessy and he keeps messing with his settings and resolution because of screen share messing up, games running poorly or bugging out.. and some games really don't optimise their HUD very well for 32:9, and you literally have to keep turning your head to check stuff constantly that are all the way in the corners
funny you mention the council, they according to Linus on WAN Show have seemingly put the kybosh on the lan centre unless LMG can overcome their objections.
I've installed a ton of Crestron stuff back before the first iPhone released. Super fancy stuff, but the installation market I was in was not large offices or event areas. I was installing that stuff into people's homes up in the Highland area in NC. Some baller stuff for some baller houses. These folks loved having a Windows CE tablet that they could use to fully control and automate their house. Haven't been in that career for a while now, good to hear they're still around and cranking out some neat tech.
The scale of this project is staggering and the final result is incredibly immersive. Can't even picture how it feels gaming on a screen that size. Keep pushing those tech boundaries!
I don't usually comment much but I just wanna say the flight simulator part was perfection. The song choice and the jaw dropped expressions while they stared at the scenery was amazing. I just had a flashback to Nick Arcade & Legends of the Hidden Temple
Need to get Storror out there to build a course to match a Mario Maker course

This is one of the all time great LTT videos
This is the classic LTT madness I feel the channel has been missing in recent years. Absolutely epic
Just awesome :) as a trained IT specialist in system integration and private Techfreak, console collector, gamer, you manage to leave me speechless every time. No matter whether dev kits, PC building, Server reviews, Smartphone, etc. or recommendations for something else. Thanks to you, I've been able to implement a lot at home in my Server/PC/Console projects. I just needed to say that once. Please keep it up. 🤝🧡
I contract out to Clark's as a tech on the regular.
Disappointed I didn't get the call for this gig 😅
I disappointed that the brought a datapath to the gig. They are fine but this was a pro solution gig and advertisement for them. And the flopped and fucked it all up. Use a real screen switcher for something of this nature. Would have been so much better.
Also I wished they’d at least gotten their 20k laser pjs and not 12’s
@@kman1898 yeah I agree.
In their defense, Clark's is a smaller locally owned and operated AV company.
Most AV company's have been bought up by multi national giants from the US.
My point being, Clark's does not have a ton of gear in inventory, and with this being busy time. It's likely that their switchers are out on other shows.
@@kman1898 I was honestly surprised when they said 12k but at least it wasn't rear projection
@@kman1898agree on the Datapath.. Although these are laser projectors.
honestly expected that projector lense to cost like 25-30k
3k felt shockingly cheap
@@casualonemmo-player2167He was referring to the cost of one bulb.
6:58 That deadlift form is seriously dangerous lol
Made every cinematography workers and gamer's dreams. Thank you Linus and the team !
Weird Al would never sue for this. He wouldn't even ask to visit, but would want too.
Would be wild if Weird Al actually did visit
He doesn’t even own the rights to that recording of that song, Sony does.
He may consider "I'll Sue Ya" to be a fun response too.
The flight sim part was awesome.
You should look into other flight sims as well, such as DCS World. That's one great demanding game even for a 4090.
Worlds Biggest Curved Gaming TV Next !
this is what I imagine 32:9 gaming is like, having to turn your head to see the HUD in the corners xD
also that previously mentioned HUD thing, some games don't have an option to put the HUD closer in the center so you literally have to turn your head to check things. seems pretty impractical to me IMO@@JoeYo-hl6bw
Owner of a 21:9 monitor. I can say that still applies, even through the smaller resolution. One thing is certain though, movijg your mouse from one side to the other takes quitw a bit of time (also websites cant be fullscreened most of the time, as they expect you to look left, right 20x)
its glorious
@@JoeYo-hl6bw I bought my 34" 21:9 screen almost a year ago and I really love it. however I don't think I will ever go past this aspect ratio, a friend of mine has a 32:9 odyessy and he keeps messing with his settings and resolution because of screen share messing up, games running poorly or bugging out.. and some games really don't optimise their HUD very well for 32:9, and you literally have to keep turning your head to check stuff constantly that are all the way in the corners
Council: "Your TV can not have it's own ZIP code!"
Linus: "Hold my beer!"
funny you mention the council, they according to Linus on WAN Show have seemingly put the kybosh on the lan centre unless LMG can overcome their objections.
1:31 Just waiting for Linus to drop it....
Watching Linus experience the kind of gear I work with daily as an Event Production worker gives me so much joy
Same thoight. I was like "Professional connections? Those BNC are not even used anymore." XD
@@FelixPremium-v4y I’m curious what you do if you don’t use a locking BNC for SDI anymore. All cat5/6 then?

The scale of this project is staggering and the final result is incredibly immersive. Can't even picture how it feels gaming on a screen that size. Keep pushing those tech boundaries!
I don't usually comment much but I just wanna say the flight simulator part was perfection. The song choice and the jaw dropped expressions while they stared at the scenery was amazing. If I had the chance to experience stuff like this in my life before I pass from my illness I'd feel incredible lucky
Yea, the whole time I'm like "Flight sim, flight sim!" Glad he did it! I'd also like to see some 4K video from a jet flying through a canyon next! Or build the wall with a curve on each side!
This was a cool project but probably hard to visualize it without being there.
6:58 His deadlift definitely needs some coaching!

@@rundown132ghost in the shell (the original film) when the major fights the tank, and rips its cover protecting the ai inside
That would be a big yikes
Props to the Clark's AV guys for seeing the value of a collab like this -- I mean I'm sure they got paid, too, but coming out to participate in the shoot is intentional, and a good move.
13:43 "guys really live in apartments like this and don't see any issue"
That's awesome!
Would have loved to have seen an RTS or Civ on a screen like that. Imagine having the whole map visible at once!
I work in AV so I use these Epson 12k's nearly everyday. It's kind of weird seeing a whole LTT video on what is essentially my normal day to day life.
I wonder if they could have achieved the same effect with snorkel lenses, but those are around 4 times the cost of normal short throw lenses.
For this man… it was tuesday
If nothing else stuff like this will always make me jealous of anyone who gets to work there and especially Linus himself. Taking stuff like this to the biggest extreme just for fun and a video is always the sort of stuff I enjoy and is guaranteed to make you feel like a kid again.
Having worked with Epson projectors in Museums and Heritage AV installations for the last decade I can attest to their quality. Epson also have an extremely novel periscope UST lens the ELPLX02s which has a 0.35 ratio.
The ultra short throw reflex lenses are awesome! ...And about 5x the cost of the 0.8 short throw lenses.
This is the stuff we'd never get to see without channels like LTT. So freaking cool
I loved how they photoshopped witnesses face on the star 11:34
i like the music editing into on the scenes at the end @ peak immersion
crysis is finally happy to have a screen to run
Hey whoever edited this video did an amazing job picking the music while the flight simulator was going, literal chills
Linus racing the loading bar and mario got me 🤣
I was waiting for the day you guys started working with Live Events people, as I work in that field. I hope you can continue to find cool tech to play with from them
Random fun fact: at 10:37 there's a typo in lowercase alphabet, it's missing the "j" and "h" appears instead. Uppercase is fine.
Why do I always notice these things?
Next use the projection on the castle of Karlsruhe for gaming 😂
Yep, it can't be disputed. Not even slightly.
That is legitimately cool AF.
11:24 I still stand by my word: It reminds me of the Master Control Program from the original TRON Movie :D
