    perfect I'm really excited to see the movies in 3D on something like this. Finally some of the projector companies realize that TV stop doing 3D. incorporating 3D into the ust is a win. Thank you for the excellent review

    The 3D on this is better than old lamp based 3d in the theaters. It rivals modern laser movie theater 3D with the brightness of this AWOL. Thank goodness for AWOL! My 300+ 3D movie collection is all new again! Get something like a Zidoo or Dune media player that can play back 3D MKVs you make of your own 3D disks, and you have a simple way to watch your collection of 3D movies! It's just too bad that the movie companies have all but given up on releasing their new release 3D movies on disk anymore.

We live on a lake, our 1st floor is a giant entertainment/kitchen area with floor to ceiling glass facing the lake. I love the floor raising screen, it wouldn't obstruct our view unless we want to watch tv.....but.... how do you think this will do in daylight? We have lots of light and reflection off the water. How come theres never any reviews on entry level OLED such as the b3 from lg? I would think with the perfect blacks it would be a good tv or would you recommend a regular Qled or mini led over an entry level OLED?

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M
      @PSYCHOV3N0M 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That depends on what your usage case is.
      If you're NOT a gamer whatsoever, even the A series OLED's from LG will deliver perfect blacks for watching movies and TV shows. The A series only have 60Hz panels which is more than enough for watching movies and TV shows.
      If you are a gamer, you want the C series or higher. They have 120Hz panels and 4 HDMI 2.1 ports.
      The B series is a shitty version of the C series.

    • @jman3081
      @jman3081 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PSYCHOV3N0M well I don't think it's real fair to say C or G series and anything else is irrelevant. Maybe there are gamers that's not concerned with fps and just want an oled at an affordable price. I feel like the entry level OLED should get more reviews. Especially for someone who's on a budget. I mean suppose a person wants to pay $800 on a tv. Would it be better to get something like a mini led like a hisense or if you want that oled experience but can only afford entry level. I feel like that would be a great video

    I'm concerned about the number of wires that will be required to connect it to my DVD player and game console. I'm worried that they will be unsightly and difficult to manage.
    Second, I don't recall seeing any mention of a 3D app in the product specifications. I would like to know if there is one available, as I would like to be able to watch 3D movies on the TV.
    Finally, I would like to know if the TV can be installed on the ceiling. I have a small living room and I think it would be more space-efficient to have the TV mounted on the ceiling.
    Can you follow it up please?

      This right here! I have seen these projectors in person and they are epic compared to what the video is showing. AWOL's own Fixed Frame screens do a better job combating ambient light IMO. It's funny because everytime @BTheInstaller does a large Flat Panel TV review, my expression is the same way as him reviewing this AWOL setup..."not bad"...but just like this review, my eyes lit up when I found out he was doing an AWOL setup.
      That 150" is gonna dwarf whatever flat panel TV he has on the wall and the bonus is there will be zero glare (instead of mitigated glare) on the image when he records it. I'm over the novelty of flat panel TVs and have been loving Modern Projectors in very full ambient light rooms. Just keeps getting better and better with each new model from each manufacturer!
      Hitting Like and Subscribe so I can get a notification for that 150" Fixed Frame AWOL UST review! Keep the reviews coming!

    I bought an AWOL 3500 last month, but ended up returning it. (I got the TCL 98” 98R754 instead half the price) AWOL was not bright enough with the large patio doors I have in the living room. The fan noise is actually too noticeable. And with my AV cabinet the screen has to be be mounted way too high to meet the recommended viewing height. I’m way happier with the TCL. I’ll get the 115” TCL TV when that comes out. The AWOL looked great at night though. But TV is still better.

    The bright Lazer throw bulb will send your electric bill through the roof..probably cost $1,000 to replace when burned out.

    With a 190 Mastiff, definitely won’t get a floor screen but it looks cool. Last thing I need is dog drool all over it

      This projector isn't meant for gaming.
      BenQ and JVC have gaming-focused projectors.

      @@jacobmoran6927 Thank you! It will be great if you could do a video about UST ceiling mounted. I think you would help a lot of us.

      I don’t have it mounted that way. I just have the projector and it has those options.

    You didn't comment about the fact that the projector was right on the floor! Pets and babies could be dribbling into the opening and dust which is always close to the floor would be filtering down onto the projection lens when you would walk by etc. I have a real concern about this. Also a baby could easily crawl over to the projector and look in the opening where the lens is. What if you only had 8' ceilings to work with in you home theater room. Then you're going to be constrained to placing the projector in the right place relative to the screen. What was the overall extended height of the projection screen? Did the tensioning mechanism work well even if you only extended the screen up so maybe just 4 inches of the base material (non-screen material) was showing above the screen storage area?

      The projector has a sensor to shutoff when anyone gets too close and most people don’t use it on the floor.
