    This rifle in AK Operators Union Local 47-74 completed the 5,000 round torture test and was the only rifle to run a full mag through the sand tornado test, a great value indeed.

    I have a 20" rifle length and 16" mid length from PSA. I got the complete upper and lower on both. I watched and got both on sale with out shipping. I have aftermarket BCG's, carry handles and charging handles on both so my cost total was around $625 or so both. And before anyone says anything about "save up and get better" I was a year total finishing each because I was watching for sales and deals. Comments from the future. Got another complete nitride carbine today and figured I'd drop some info a year later during the great panic buy of 2020/2021. Excellent rifle.
    If you're trying to decide between the nitride and and the phosphate, get the nitride. If you aren't firing full auto, nitrided barrels are arguably up there with chrome lining, but are more accurate generally. More corrosion resistance than phosphate and the nitride process gives parts more inherent lubricity than phosphate. Pro, stays slicker when dry. Con, doesn't "hold" oil as long because it isn't porus like phosphate. My reciever extension was staked in 2 places so good there. My bcg was nitrided with a phosphate cam pin (like mrguns says "whatever they have laying around"). Bolt was 158 carpenter and staking on the gas key was good. Overall I think PSA makes the best budget AR on the market, and in 2021, they've had rifles in stock the whole time. If you get one, just be sure to strip the bcg all the way down and clean the goop out of it, make sure you lube everything well, and before you fire it, make sure to run a snake or a patch down the bore, because I've received psa barrels before that had metal chips left inside from the manufacturing process. None of that with this rifle but it's always good to check before you send a round through an obstructed bore, potentially damaging the barrel and possibly yourself.
    Is it a bcm or a colt or an fn? No. Is it an Anderson? Also no. If I had to pick a rifle that was literally the cheapest I would go for a defensive rifle, this is it. When you go cheaper than this, you start seeing cut corners and sub standard parts. Vet your rifles before you trust your life to them, whether they're 600 bucks or 3 grand.

If you are on a budget this is absolutely the way to go because you can break it up and the most expensive part would be the complete upper at $219. Dam it now I gotta get a mid-length thanks again Mike

The rifle has a carry handle so I set it on 600m and used 62gr fmj hornady reloads (25.5gr of CFE 223 1/8 twist). Laid on the ground with a bag for a rest and hit a man sized steel target 3x out of 5. I'm impressed since I didn't expect it. Good job PSA. It was windy so I will try again when it's not but still not bad. I think I paid $359.00 last month for the complete upper, can't beat it.

    For those new, if you want to lower the recoil impulse on a 16inch carbine gas system I recommend either an enhanced BCG (LMT and Surefire make some I believe) or as mentioned in the video a heavier buffer. You could do a combination of the two, however your rifle may not cycle properly with lower pressured rounds. All depends on the ammo you shoot.

    My first PSA product was the same upper. Bought the PSA lower with magpul furniture in wolf grey shortly after. Picked up a PSA premium BCG later on (thanks to you) and it's been great. No issues with brass or steel case. Sold the upper to a buddy not long ago and hes converting it to free float. PSA just works.

    July of 2022 I bought that same kit for $360 and the same receiver for $60, did my first build, took it to the gun range, and it ran flawlessly and accurately. I was using Igman 55 grain FMJ ammo. Love that gun.

  • @anthonybruno4424
    @anthonybruno4424 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I’m seeing a lot of comments on panic buying and price gouging, I remember the last ammo shortage and general shortages of the last 10 years very well. I made a vow to myself I wouldn’t find myself in that position where I’m running around looking for a brick of freakin .22 lr. So during the last 4 years under a “so called 2A defender” I’ve been doing a lot of buying. It been quite clear to me that the closer we get to election time the harder things will be to get. These recent shootings kinda threw a wrench in the works and prompted some panic buying. I’ve made sure to purchase all the big items I fell are important and I’ve kept a stock of ammo like a savings account, there is a certain level I won’t drop below so as I shoot I replace. Now there are still things I’d like to acquire but if things dried up tomorrow I won’t find myself out in the cold sitting on 200 rounds and one rifle. AS far as Congress and President trump and gun control goes, there is no appetite for an AWB right now, (obviously that could change) but where we are more likely to see movement is on these egregious “red flag” laws. But even those aren’t a given. (Highly likely) but not a fine deal. There are enough opponents of the current models that passage isn’t guaranteed. Now I’m not defending president trump and his actions so far regarding the 2A, I find myself very very let down with the bumpstock travesty and his rhetoric about other measures. So while I am very very wary about him I’m not ready to write him off totally just yet. I’ve watched his rhetoric moderate quite a lot since the shootings. I’m not talking about any 4D chess bullshit but I do believe there is a degree of signaling willingness to play to the middle but we will see what actually comes out of it. I know I have emailed the White House multiple times signaling my displeasure and I urge anyone else reading this to do the same. H is getting a ton of blow back from his base and we need to keep the heat on him. It does work. And like it or not he is our best hope at this moment, and I don’t believe that he is secretly anti 2A I just believe that he isn’t a “gun guy” so he may not realize his position angers the hard core 2A supporters. In his mind he probably thinks if he’s not talking about banning certain guns then he is protecting the 2A. Again, I’m not naive and I’m not defending his positions leading up to now. Just yesterday tho on his way to marine one he was asked about background checks and he really moderated his position, he didn’t signal any support for “universal” background checks and he just focused on making background checks strong. That could mean a lot of things. He went on to really emphasize mental health and then he said that we will see he said that even if the republicans come up with something acceptable the democrats will want to add things that make it un doable so I don’t believe he is supporting their current Universal background checks bill that passed the house. So there is a lot goin on but nothing is a done deal yet and that’s where we come in we must keep the heat on, EMAIL THE WHITE HOUSE!! It only takes 5 mins, if you can post a comment on you tube you can email the White House. And call your senators and email them as well. It does make a difference. I got a email from GOA yesterday calling on action and urging to call your senators, it takes 2 minutes people.

    The PSA lowers were just fine. However, I purchased a complete PA-15 20" NATO Classic, and the front sight was noticeably canted to the left. I sent it back for repair or replacement. It was returned to me in the same condition, but with an obviously used and rather battered flash hider. An included note said the sight was " in spec". I sold it. I've read other reviews, also involving canted sights, sights so far off that the rear sight had to be adjusted all the way to the left, or right just to hit paper.

  • @EC-mc7vg

    These are very good firearms, not just "for the money" or "value", but good firearms. Most of the companies from "value" to "high end" use the same materials for their standard AR 15 parts, yes I know there are many "upgrades" to be had with some parts. The typical dynamics, timing and shooting characteristics were worked out and perfected years ago. Most are mil spec for parts interchangeability. And now to get nitride treated barrels and bgc is a really nice feature. And for a complete upper kit with everything but a stripped lower for $299 is something I have not seen in my lifetime, all in with a lower for $350 and some of you people are arguing instead of ordering. I am telling everyone I know to order at least one AR rifle or pistol kit while they still can. Buy any AR you want and spend as much as you like,, but these kind of deals are hard to beat Just my two cents worth.

Utg pro flip up rear sights are a great choice too for half the price of the Magpul mbus. Best value out there! I've got a PSA Freedom model in stainless steel and I'm really liking it! Just went to the range and about punched the middle out of a target from 25 yards this week after getting it sighted in. Even with open irons and my less-than-stellar eyes, it's a nice, accurate tool. Seems to prefer the 62 grains over the 55 grain FMJs, but with the barrel twist rate, that's not shocking.
