Local Coin Shop Pickup and a Junk Silver Hunt! Since I have had several requests for me to do another local coin shop (LCS) pickup video, as well as a junk silver purchase and hunt, I decided to go to my Local Coin Shop and kill 2 birds with one stone! I grabbed a $52.40 Face Value Junk Silver Bag filled with all of his available Barber Half Dollars, Barber Quarters, Standing Liberty Quarters, and Barber Dimes he had, as well as Walking Liberty Half Dollars, Benjamin Franklin Half Dollars and Mercury dimes - which I was hoping would contain some key or semi-key dates! Hopefully you all enjoy this video! I may also hit up some pawn shops and thrift stores to see if there are any hidden treasures hanging out in there too! As always - Happy Hunting and Thanks for Watching AND keep Stacking that silver my friends!!! Today I hunting some nickels for THE FIRST TIME and the THIRD ROLL...I FOUND A 1898 V NICKEL MY FIRST BOX AND OLDER THAN A BUFFALO AND THE THIRD ROLL... HOLY **** WOW!!!😱😵
I feel like 40 percent halves and war nickels will be worth a heck of a lot more some day than they are today. These are without a doubt my favorite type of video rob! Keep up the great work!
They definitely won't. Paper investments produce SO much better returns. With metals, you have to time the market perfectly, like with Bitcoin. A few will make money. Most won't.
Great finds! We really love Constitutional silver (we dare not call it “junk” silver) and need to hit up our local coin shop. They have a ton of it. ⭐️
I use a piece of paper and a pencil to get dates. 80% of the time I get a clear and noticeable date. Others no luck. Awesome grab bag as always. HH&GL Chris
Nice, i picked up 2 wheat rolls from a flea market and im always skeptical about them but almost every coin was an S mintmark. I had quite a few S coins not in the book so its always good to fill some holes. Only need 55 more coins to have a full book, i doubt ill ever get key dates though
Hey Rob... the SLQ... I'm sure I spotted a 6 there just as you pulled it out from under the scope! Right there at 6:59... just below your screwdriver tip...
There are many ways to tell a 1916 from a 1917. Just look up "how to tell the difference between a 1916 and a 1917 standing liberty quarter" and there should be many results. Also really like the junk silver hunts, and congrats on the 1911-D!
Wow yet to get some silver for me. Don’t have any dealers near me so it’s hard to get some, but great to see you get some! Anyways amazing coins like always!
I’ve bought my first three Morgan’s first peace dollar. One was a graded Morgan 1890 o paid fifty worth 105 p c g s. I checked barcode matched . Ty I also got a dime collection started . 80 silver and almost a roll silver half’s . Missing four
I’m pretty tired and 9 pm eastern time is my bed time and I just got out of shower. What do you think is more important? Sleeping for the next day of school or watching your vid? I’m still going to sleep but I will watch your vid tomorrow!
The Type II reverse dateless SLQ's are generally between 1917-1924 as those between 1925-1930 have at least 2 digits showing in the redesigned recessed date in AG condition.
I've been looking for the 1955 ben franklin half for a while, still can't find it in junk silver piles... nice video though! These are my favorite kinds of videos
I wish i could pick up silver like this in the UK. I've been looking all over for cheap silver but i think because all our silver is so old (anything up to 1919 is sterling silver and 1920 to 1947 is 0.500 silver) its all got some numismatic value and therefore more expensive. Its hard to get close to spot price. Maybe 0.500 silver is the way to go im not sure. But i did just pick up 5 half crowns and 15 three pences which is pretty cool. Its interesting to hold coins that are over 100 years old.
Id love to find a junk guy like you have. I tried my local coin shop and for something like you just got from yours for that face value, my local shop.would have charged me over $450 he said..
Your type one standing liberty quarter is a 1917. The stars are not worn, the hair is of a 17. Also the type two standing liberty quarters were minted fron 1917 to 1930. Check the 1955 franklin half dollar for the bugs bunny variety.
Jon Stebbing Yes, great eye. I checked the 1917 for the markers on the hair, the shield stars as well as the draping near the foot and confirmed after the video. I also slipped up when I said 1918-1930, as I was thinking 1916-1917 and forgot momentarily that the type 2 started in 1917 - doh! I’ll check the 55 BF for the bugs bunny variety as I haven’t yet. Great info and thanks for the heads up!
Never heard the term constitutional silver? I need to look up if there is a coin shop near me, I'm in Denver. I used to frequent my local sports card shop for sports cards and pokemon cards for years growing up; it has since closed, sadly, a few years ago. Never been to a coin shop before
Hey Rob I have a question, if you had a choice to pay for these which would you choose? Keep in mind these are rolled silver coins so you don’t know if there are key dates or not.. but $50 Face Value Silver dimes, $50 Face Value Quarters or $50 worth of Half Dollars? Or would you just prefer a mix of them all. And this is paying 10-11x FV for.
great pick ups, by any chance do you know what the last year that new Orleans mint ended production of coins if you could let me know that would be greatly appreciated.
Nice Rob , love your videos But I was wondering if you don't mind , what is a good price to pay for $ 52 dollars in junk silver ? because I'm very new at this and I would love to do that but I don't want to pay to much Thanks
Brother, if you can't comparison shop on your own, this hobby is not going to work for you. You have to stand on your own two feet when getting involved with PM.

@@Crazyarnold12 WOW! I have only found 1 V Nickel in over 200 boxes.... Nice find brother!
RobFindsTreasure I know it’s crazy!

Junk silver is good to have. Will be interesting to see how close you can get to filling those books that way.

Rob. I really love your junk silver purchases at your local coin store! It’s so difficult to find treasures in coin roll hunting.
You can find good stuff out there, I found a merc dime and a barber dime, along with a Roosevelt not long ago.
Wow Rob, what an awesome pickup!!!
Thats an outstanding purchase. I have never seen a barber dime look that good. i dont know how you have so much luck in the things you find.

Great video Rob!! I always learn something new watching your videos. Keep up the great work brother.
These are so satisfying
Nice vid just bought some 90%ers my self
You bought more barber halves than I have in my collection. Love it.
Great finds! We really love Constitutional silver (we dare not call it “junk” silver) and need to hit up our local coin shop. They have a ton of it. ⭐️
I know - I hate calling it Junk Silver when I refer to my coins BUT it helps calling it that when purchasing it!
I had fun watching, musta been really fun to pick through!
Awesome pick ups and congratulations on filling some holes and upgrading others. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Hey Rob where do you get your coin books? They're so nice.

Great stream again. Loving rft keep them coming
Great Picks Rob!!! Going to check my Merc Dimes I never looked at the dates on the two tubes. Hopefully can find some key dates.

Thats a great collection let a lome a LCS haul. 😃
I’m not much of a high premium silver type of person but the other day I ordered a roll of barber quarters from APMEX and now I think I’m hooked😬
Greetings from Poland. Amazing coins :)
Hey Rob... the SLQ... I'm sure I spotted a 6 there just as you pulled it out from under the scope! Right there at 6:59... just below your screwdriver tip...
Great finds
Have you tried distilled white vinegar for your dateless quarters? Seems to do a good job with a few dimes I've tested in on!
DANCERcow I have a few soaking
RobFindsTreasure you should make a video on your results! SilverSleuth did so for a Shield Nickel. turned out pretty well.
Hey Rob, on that SLQ, I thought I seen a 5 on it but it is very very hard to see I could be wrong
If there was truly a 5, it would be a 1925
My mouth is watering that silver looks so awesome. I am questioning the barber because today is April fool's
"Kernels on the cob!." 😄😍
I love the barbers
Barbers are great coins to stack even with a small premium over spot, as long as they are in G or better condition.
There are many ways to tell a 1916 from a 1917. Just look up "how to tell the difference between a 1916 and a 1917 standing liberty quarter" and there should be many results. Also really like the junk silver hunts, and congrats on the 1911-D!

A lot of great looking coins. Nice score. #Robalmosthasaheartattackagain lol
Hey Rob, I guess you heard the Mint is getting ready to release West Point quarters into circulation soon.
