I just remembered tonight that I played this game with him, and in a haze tried to find footage. I just had a flood of memories come back, thank you so much, thank you.
I never thought about it as a kid because I hadn't realized how video games worked yet but it was very unusual that the track creator mode used a different movement engine. I think this engine was later re-used for a game on the hot wheels website too.
you are correct! the game engine for the track editor was recycled for the Planet Hot Wheels Highway 35 multiplayer game! good eye. that game is hard to find but i was able to find a copy of the files hacked for offline use recently

Has anyone figured out why the heck Stunt Track Driver videos do so well? My videos from 2011 are still getting hundreds of views everyday and are the best performing videos on my channel
8:40 pretty sure there was a shortcut to the right, there is even a landing ramp next to the radio, however no matter how much I tried to go there I would always crash. I assume devs never coded that.
make sure you are letting the game install in the default location it wants to install in, i am unsure why, but the game will refuse to launch if you change the install path. also use a little program called DGVoodoo and run the game's config exe and select hardware mode with DGVoodoo as the display adapter.
how did you get the 3rd one and the one after the dinosaurs? I knew there were more tracks but I never figured out how to unlock them, i only had the frogs, farm/garden, beach and dinos

This is peak nostalgia. I'll never forget playing the demo version for years off of one of those hot wheels world discs before having the full game.

They're unlocked by completing them in the tournament mode. If the game had been freshly installed, this run would have unlocked them both.
